Watch Charli XCX set fire to a ‘White Mercedes’ in her new music video

In case you didn’t already know, Charli XCX is the pop gift that keeps on giving.

On Thursday (Oct. 10), the musician unleashed the music for yet another track off her much-anticipated, and recently released studio effort, Charli.

Titled “White Mercedes,” the video begins with the singer inside of a white car (a Mercedes we’re going to assume because we’re not good with cars), which is suspended from a crane.

Decked in a light pink tulle dress and black combat boots, she’s seen riding in the back of a pick-up truck like the fearless MOFO she is and chilling in what looks like a wheat field.

But that’s not all. We get to watch the white car get crushed by the white pick-up truck, get set on fire while still dangling from the crane, and then a white horse randomly shows up.

What can we say, there’s a lot of symbolism in this clip.

The mini-movie was directed by Colin Solal Cardo, who also directed the music video for Charli and Christine and the Queens’ collaboration “Gone.”

“White Mercedes” is featured on Charli’s Grammy-nominated new record, Charli. The latest track joins previously released singles “February 2017” (with Clairo and Yaeji), “Gone” (with Christine and the Queens), “1999” (with Troye Sivan), “Warm” (with HAIM), “Blame It on Your Love” (with Lizzo), and “Cross You Out” (with Sky Ferreira) on the album.

In support of the self-titled, Charli previously announced plans to embark on a North American fall outing. The Charli LIVE North American tour begins Sept. 20 at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta and concludes a month later on Oct. 22 at Terminal 5 in New York.

At the time of publication, a total of eight of the nine shows have been classified as sold out. Those shows include Emo’s in Austin on Sept. 24, Showbox Market in Seattle on Oct. 4, the House of Blues in Chicago on Oct. 12, the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. on Oct. 18, as well as her two-night engagement at Terminal 5 in New York (Oct. 21 and 22).

Tommy Genesis, Brooke Candy, Dorian Electra, and Allie X will support Charli on select dates.
