Charli XCX shares her Yaeji and Clairo collaboration ‘February 2017’

If you don’t think Charli XCX is one of the hardest working musicians in pop music, then you have not been paying attention.

On Friday (Sept. 6), the singer unleashed another new song from her upcoming new album. Titled February 2017,” the latest track features Clairo and Yaeji.

“Collaborating with Yaeji and Clairo was really fun and unique,” the pop star said in a press statement.

“We are all very different artists, but coming together on this song felt so special and right. Clairo and I made a load of songs together in my studio in LA one afternoon at the beginning of the year. None of them were this song but it was so easy to write with her that the second I came up with this idea separately I sent it over to her and she came back with loads of ideas.”

She continues: “We sent over this idea to Yaeji too and she did a really beautiful verse. It sounds so intimate. It’s one of the most intimate moments on the album.”

“February 2017” is featured on Charli’s forthcoming third studio album Charli. Her self-titled is due out next Friday, Sept. 13, through Atlantic Records. Pre-orders for the 15-track record are currently available here.

“February 2017” joins previously released singles “Gone” with Christine and the Queens, “1999” with Troye Sivan, “Warm” with HAIM, “Blame It on Your Love” with Lizzo, and “Cross You Out” with Sky Ferreira.

Charli is the follow-up to 2014’s Sucker.

Earlier this week, Charli joined forces with Christine and the Queens to perform their joint track “Gone” on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. During their set, they even gave the 1975’s catchy tune “TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME” their own spin. Listen to the performance here.

In support of the impending release, Charli previously announced plans to embark on a massive fall tour. The Charli LIVE North American outing begins Sept. 20 at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta and concludes a month later on Oct. 22 at Terminal 5 in New York.

At the time of publication, a handful of shows were classified as sold out. Those gigs include Emo’s in Austin on Sept. 24, Showbox Market in Seattle on Oct. 4, the House of Blues in Chicago on Oct. 12, the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. on Oct. 18, Union Transfer in Philadelphia on Oct. 19, and her final tour stop at Terminal 5 in New York on Oct. 22.
