Listen: The Maine assure fans they are not ‘Broken Parts’ in new song

With a week left until the release of their new studio album, The Maine have returned with another new song to hold fans over until then. On Friday (March 22), the Arizona-founded act shared their third single off You Are OK. Titled “Broken Parts,” the emotional new song finds the band assuring listeners that we are all broken in some way, but that doesn’t mean we cannot come back from it.

Listen to “Broken Parts” above.

“Broken Parts” joins previously released singles “My Best Habit” and “Numb without You” on their upcoming seventh studio album. You Are OK is due out next Friday, March 29, through their 8123 record label.

Pre-orders for the upcoming release can be found on the band’s website. You Are OK is the follow-up to the band’s 2017’s Lovely Little Lonely.

Earlier this week, The Maine was confirmed as one of the headliners for the inaugural Sad Summer Festival tour. Mayday Parade, the Wonder Years, Mom Jeans, Stand Atlantic, L.I.F.T., and Just Friends will round out the roster with Every Avenue, Four Year Strong, Set It Off, Forever the Sickest Kids, and Emo Nite appearing at select dates. The full tour itinerary can be found here.

Before heading out on the emo’s answer to the now-defunct Vans Warped Tour, the group will embark on several springtime outings. The first excursion will find them opening for Taking Back Sunday on their Twenty tour. The Twenty tour begins with a two-night engagement (April 16 and 17) at the Ace of Spades in Sacramento and concludes with a two-night stint at the House of Blues in Las Vegas (May 4 and 5).

After a few days off, The Maine will hit the road from their own headlining tour. “The Maine Are Back on Tour & You Are OK” trek begins on May 9 at 191 Toole in Tucson and conclude a couple of weeks later on May 31 at the Launchpad in Albuquerque.

The Maine to head ‘Back on Tour’ in May

A week after announcing plans to release a new album later this spring, the Maine have decided it’s time to head out on their own headlining tour to support the new record. On Monday (Jan. 21), the Arizona-founded band took to social media to unveil plans for a short, springtime trek.

Set to take place in May, “The Maine Are Back on Tour & You Are OK” excursion will find the group performing at venues across the country with stops in Austin, Nashville, Charleston, Richmond, Iowa City, St. Louis, and more. The 15-stop jaunt will begin on May 9 at 191 Toole in Tucson and conclude a couple of weeks later on May 31 at the Launchpad in Albuquerque.

Pennsylvania-founded five-piece Grayscale will open for the Maine throughout the excursion with the exception of four dates.

Pre-sales begin this Wednesday (Jan. 23) while general ticket sales begin this Friday (Jan. 25).

Last week, the act unleashed a brand new song titled “Numb Without You.” The new track is the first single off the Maine’s upcoming seventh studio album, You Are Ok. The record, the group’s follow-up to 2017’s Lovely Little Lonely, is due out March 29 via their 8123 record label. Pre-orders for You Are Ok are available on the band’s website.

The newly added tour dates will take place right after the quintet conclude their time on Taking Back Sunday’s Twenty tour. That tour will find the five-piece joining the Long Island-founded throughout the month of April and well into May. Those tour dates can be found here.

The Maine announce new album ‘You Are OK,’ stream lead single

The Maine spent most the week teasing something major on social media and now it looks like the band is ready to reveal it all. On Wednesday (Jan. 16), the Arizona-founded act announced the release of their forthcoming seventh studio album. Titled You Are OK, the record is due out March 29 via their 8123 record label.

Pre-orders for the upcoming release can be found on the band’s website. You Are OK is the follow-up to the band’s 2017 release, Lovely Little Lonely.

In a statement about the new album, frontman John O’Callaghan says: “Trying to describe sound without giving you anything to listen to is an awfully tough task, so sparing the particulars of sonics I can tell you that this record is risky.

He continues: “The risk lies in its urgency, its relentlessness, and its manic mood swings. Yet even inside all the taken chances there exists a familiarity that I think will be heard once you spin it.”

While O’Callaghan does make reference to not being able to accurately describe the new record’s sound without actual music in the statement, the group has rectified that by unleashing its lead single. Titled “Numb without You,” the bop-worthy, three-and-a-half-minute track can be streamed above.

Prior to the new album announcement, the band had already confirmed several tours for 2019. The group’s 2019 touring itinerary will officially begin with a show at the Van Buren on Friday, Jan. 18, in their hometown of Phoenix. The following day (Jan. 19), the group’s annual 8123 Fest will take place with the five-piece performing their debut album, Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop, in full.

After several other tours around the globe, the quintet will return to the United States where they will hit the road alongside Taking Back Sunday for the latter’s Twenty tour. The Maine’s time on the Twenty tour will begin with a two-night engagement (April 16 and 17) at the Ace of Spades in Sacramento and conclude with a two-night stint at the House of Blues in Las Vegas (May 4 and 5).

Tickets for the upcoming tour can be found here while the Maine’s upcoming tour dates can be seen below.
