Tonight Alive sign to Hopeless Records, unveil new song

Over the weekend, Hopeless Records had teased on social media that they would be signing a brand new band to their record label. On Monday (April 3), the record label confirmed that Australian group, Tonight Alive, would be the newest addition to their family. “So excited to welcome Tonight Alive to the Hopeless fam!” said the record label’s official Twitter account.

In addition to their new home at Hopeless, Tonight Alive also unleashed a brand new song. Heading over to Daniel P. Carter’s BBC 1 Radio show, the group premiered their new tune, “World Away.” “‘World Away’ is a continuation of our quest for self understanding and empowerment, but this time through developing a personal relationship with darkness,” vocalist Jenna McDougall said in a statement.

She continues: “In a society that conditions us to suppress and shy away from confronting emotions, we wrote an invitation in ‘World Away’ to shake hands with what scares us most and begin recognizing the opportunity for growth in struggle.” The official music video for “World Away” which was directed by Megan Thompson can be seen above.

Currently, there is word on whether “World Away” will be featured on Tonight Alive’s upcoming new album. According to a press release from the band, they will hit the studio later this summer to record the follow-up to 2016’s Limitless. This new album will mark Tonight Alive’s first record¬†with Hopeless; their previous three albums were released through Fearless Records.
