VERSA Frontwoman Updates Fans on New Album Status

image

It’s been over a year since VERSA (formerly VersaEmerge) released any new material, even though they had promised fans that they would be working on some new music since the slight taste they from the duo’s Neon EP.

In the year since the three-song album was released, the band have been quiet with no information on whether or not they were currently working on new music or if they had called it a day. Now, after such a long pause, it seems the duo might be working on some new material.

In response to a question a fan posted on Tumblr, frontwoman Sierra Kusterbeck revealed that they would be starting a crowdfundng campaign to help fund their new full-length album; the first full-length under their new name.

“hi! thanks for being a long time fan of the music. of course we want to come to brazil, we’re always mentioning it when we talk about touring. just need to release the rest of our music and then get it in the works. we plan to do a crowd funding campaign for our full length and extra money will get us down to brazil for sure! <3”

Back in 2013, fans of VersaEmerge were given a big shock when the band abruptly dropped off of the Vans Warped Tour. Soon after the departure from the traveling rock show, news hit that the band had been dropped from Fueled by Ramen even though no actual reason was given. Following that, they deleted all social media accounts associated with VersaEmerge and re-emerged with new social media accounts for VERSA.

Thrice Upload Suspicious Photograph on Tumblr

It’s been a few years since Thrice announced they would be going on hiatus following a farewell tour, but now, the band have given fans something to look forward to in 2015.

This morning, an image appeared on the band’s Tumblr page which jump started talks of a reunion almost as fast as the image was posted online. The image was a black and white photograph of what appears to be a stage. Over the image in white print is the band’s name and “2015” below it.

Check out the image below.

No confirmation has been made by the band yet, but considering the picture was just uploaded a little while ago, an official announcement as to what it means should be on the horizon. We’re hoping that it has something to do with a new album or even a potential tour in the near future, after all, Vheissu does turn ten next year.

MTV Announce the ‘MTVU Fandom Awards’

If you don’t know what a fandom is, then congratulations for not being part of the Tumblr generation who take the whole fan-mentality over and beyond. Where else would you see fan art with certain male characters continuously making out with each other or bad-ass costumes that made you wish you could sew?

Considering how powerful these “fandoms” people are, MTV has finally figured out how to get all those fans to flock to their 24-hour college network, MTVU for the first annual, MTVU Fandom Awards.

The categories for the newly composed award show ranges from “Fandom Feat of the Year” to “Ship of the Year.”

Fans and talent from the nominated shows and movies will be present when this award show goes down on July 27 at Petco Park during what else, Comic-Con, the prime hotspot for fandom members. Award voting starts today open MTVU’s website while the category of “Best Fandom Forever” will be exclusively held on Tumblr, pitting hardcore fans and their fandoms, against one  another.

But MTVU has managed to keep one category and the nominees for it underwraps; the category of “Fandom of the Year.” Reportedly, the category will include a bracket of 32 nominees and will dwindle down until only one remains. Sounds really exciting.

Fall Out Boy Reveal Album Art

Save Rock and Roll

Last week Fall Out Boy had fans in a frenzy when they revealed that Sir Elton John would be on their new record, and now the band is revealing the cover art for the album on their Tumblr page. They also added a small message for their fans which you can also read below.

“when we were beginning the journey of making this record we wanted to find some inspirational images. we came across the punk and monk image on the Internet and it really solidified what we were trying to get across on the record- the idea of old and new clashing. tradition and change coming together. there was something striking about it. obviously this is an image that means a lot to many people- we felt like we wanted to be part of this conversation. these kids represent the youth, change and irreverence that we hope our record is listened to with. at the end of the day we just want to take the rules and start all over with save rock and roll anyway.

shout out to Roger Stonehouse for capturing the original photo and allowing us to share it with the world “

Save Rock and Roll will be available on April 15 and 16 worldwide, but can be pre-order on the band’s website.
