Lana Del Rey Drops ‘Honeymoon’ Sampler

With a couple of weeks left before the release of her highly anticipated new album, Lana Del Rey has returned to give fans a teaser for what to expect from her fourth studio album.

Early Tuesday morning (Sept. 8), snippets of two new songs were released onto the internet. The first track was “Music to Watch Boys To,” the track that was rumored to be the lead single from the record, as well as “Freak.” Instead of letting those who leaked the snippets get away with it, Del Rey went ahead and released a sampler for the new record online. The Honeymoon sampler, very much like the title implies, features short clips of the songs featured on Honeymoon including the record’s singles “High By the Beach,” “Terrence Loves You,” and title track, “Honeymoon.”  Listen to the complete sampler below.

Honeymoon is set to be released on Sept. 18 through Polydor/Interscope Records. Pre-orders for the album are still ongoing and for those who pre-order it, they will receive an instant download of “High By the Beach” and “Terrence Loves You.”

Tom DeLonge Streams First Solo Track

image

It’s been a week since Tom DeLonge revealed he would be releasing a solo album which would feature his Blink-182 demos as well as some “odds and ends” he had put away.

As part of his plan, DeLonge will be releasing new songs from the album, To the Stars … Demos, Odds and Ends., every Monday. Today marks the first Monday of his schedule and also introduces us to his first official solo song (not affiliated with Angels and Airwaves, Boxcar Racer, or any of his side project), “New World.”

Sadly, there’s no word on whether this song was a Blink demo or an “odds and ends.”

Check out the track below.

Pre-orders for To the Stars have already begun on DeLonge’s website. Those who do pre-order the album will get a new track every Monday. As for the rest of us, the complete tracklist for the album will not be made public until March 16 with the actual album being released on April 21.

Coldplay Perform Two New Tracks at iTunes Fest

coldplay

Last night, Coldplay took to the stage to perform at the inaugural iTunes Festival at SXSW. During their set, the band went on to perform two new songs from their upcoming, surprise new album Ghost Stories.

The tracks are titled “Always in My Head” and “Another’s Arms” which both can be heard below.

The British band announced they would be releasing their sixth studio album after releasing two new tracks on the internet. When the first song, “Midnight” was released, not much was thought about it since the band had previously released a singular track the year before for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Soundtrack.

When they released a second song off the album titled “Magic,” it was confirmed by them that a new record will be released this May. Ghost Stories marks the first new album with new music since 2011’s Mylo Xyloto.

So Long, Astoria was the band’s only release through major label, Columbia which eventually went to gold, sealing it as the band’s most successful album to date.

Also adding more good news for fans, the band have released a 54-track playlist on their BandCamp account with demo tracks from the album which can also be download.

Another Lana Del Rey Demo Released

lanadelrey

It might start sounding redundant, but another day, another Lana Del Rey song has been leaked onto the internet. Today’s song is titled, “Behind Closed Doors.” The song follows a list of demo tracks from the singer that had been recorded before 2010’s Lana Del Ray a.k.a. Lizzy Grant album.

Previously, the supposed Lady Gaga dissing track “So Legit” and the funky “Maha Maha” demos have made their way to the internet, leading fans along when they thought it was new music. The songs have supposedly been around for a about five years before their unearthing.

Listen to “Behind Closed Doors” below and tell us how it ranks among all her recently discovered demos?

Freddie Mercury/Michael Jackson Tracks to Be Released

queenpic

What happens when you combine to of music’s biggest stars in the ’80s and a llama?

Apparently that’s what happened when Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson entered the studio to record some tracks together during that time.

The Times has reported that three tracks that were recorded by the twosome would be making their debut sometime this year, according to Queen guitarist, Brian May. May was quoted as saying that these rare, and never before heard tracks will be released in two months’ time.

In 1983, the two mega stars worked together in California, but did not release anything because they could not secure the adequate time to record more tracks. But that wasn’t all that led to the non-release of the songs before; there was some apparent tension between Mercury and Jackson.

In comes the llama bit.

During a recording session, Jackson brought a llama with him into the recording studio which resulted in Mercury calling Jim ‘Miami’ Beach, a lawyer who later became Queen’s manager and telling him, “Miami, dear, can you get over here? You’ve got to get me out of here, I’m recording with a llama.”

This news about the unreleased tracks come on the heels of Sacha Baron Cohen pulling out of the Freddie Mercury bio-pic he had been connected to for about three years. Due to some ratings and content issues with the remaining members of Queen, who get the final approval on the script contents, Baron decided to bow out of the role as the flamboyant frontman.

Darkside Take on Daft Punk

130621-daft-punk-nicolas-jaar-darkside

Remember when we told you that Daft Punk would be taking it upon themselves to remix their own songs from their new hit album, Random Access Memories? Well, it looks as if that time has come, but they have asked fans that if they wanted to contribute, that they would be more than welcomed.

Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington also known as Darkside, have taken on the task of remixing every single track on the album (14 if any of you were wondering). But before you think this would be a catastrophe like some random mixing done by your sweet sixteen’s DJ, Jaar most recently, remixed Brian Eno and Grizzly Bear and his remix of Cat Power was voted one of Spin Magazine’s 40 Best Songs of 2012, so we know they mean business.

If you still feel a little unsure, that’s fine, you can check out all the remade album titled, Random Access Memories Memories, below.
