Plain White T’s, Hellogoodbye, Lights added to Slam Dunk 2019 lineup

Plain White T’s, Hellogoodbye, and Lights are just some of the latest additions to this year’s Slam Dunk Festival lineup. On Tuesday (Jan. 29), festival organizers took to social media to announce the addition of ten more acts that will make their way to the United Kingdom for the annual, springtime music festival.

Joining the Plain White T’s, Hellogoodbye, and Lights on the newly released list are Microwave, Tigers Jaw, Wage War, Our Hollow Our Home, Touché Amoré, Wallflower, and Employed to Serve.

“We’re totally giddy to be invited over to Slam Dunk this year,” says Hellogoodbye’s Forrest Klein. “The line-up is insane, so many friends and lovers in one spot, it’ll be a completely gratuitous smile fest.”

“I’m so pumped to be on the Slam Dunk bill for the first time,” says Lights. “Not only am I excited to play with a bunch of great bands, but it’s been over two years since I’ve been back in the UK, so needless to say Slam Dunk can’t come soon enough!”

The newest additions to the Slam Dunk bill will join previously announced acts All Time Low, NOFX, New Found Glory, Waterparks, Story of the Year, Atreyu, Real Friends, Cancer Bats, Gallows, Mad Caddies, Silverstein, Bullet for My Valentine, Simple Plan, Saves the Day, Glassjaw, Knocked Loose, the Get Up Kids, Turnstiles, Trophy Eyes, Tiny Moving Parts, the Menzingers, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, Milk Teeth, WSTR, Seaway, Pagan, The Word Alive, The Bronx, and Angel Du$t on the upcoming event’s roster.

Tickets for Slam Dunk Festival 2019 are currently available on the event’s website here.

The weekend-long music festival will take place on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26. The first day of the festival will take place at its new Leeds home of Temple Newsam Park while the second day will take place at Hatfield Park in Hertfordshire.

Atlanta’s Wrecking Ball Fest announces first set of 2016 acts

Atlanta’s Wrecking Ball Festival will be returning in 2016. What started out as a celebration of famed Atlanta concert venue, The Masquerade has now become a yearly event. On Tuesday (March 22), the people behind the punk-centric music festival unveiled its first back of acts for the 2016 incarnation.

Acts like The Bouncing Souls, American Football, Gorilla Biscuits, The Promise Ring, American Nightmare, Deafheaven, Touche Amore, Tigers Jaw, The Menzingers, Anti-Flag, the soon-to-be defunct Motion City Soundtrack and many more will head to Georgia in mid-August. What’s surprising about the newly revealed lineup is the addition of Thursday who went on hiatus several years ago (2011 to be exact). According to a tweet from frontman Geoff Rickly, “That line-up!! We said yes on Sunday because we couldn’t say no to THAT show. Literally had no plans to reunite b4.”

The band’s reunion comes a day after they posted a cryptic message on their official Twitter. No word yet on if this will be the beginning of something new or a one-off gig, even if Rickly’s tweet seems to be pointing at the latter.

The Wrecking Ball Festival will return to Atlanta during the weekend of Aug. 12-14. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale beginning next Friday, April 1 while it looks like a slew of more bands will be announced at a later date. For now, check out the current lineup for the summer event
