Tom DeLonge Announces New Angels and Airwaves EP

image

After teasing the release of four new albums this year, former Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge previously had to confirm that not all of them would be solo releases. In a Twitter post, he confirmed two of them would be with his band Angels and Airwaves and two would be solo material.

Now, the singer has revealed that one of those two Angels and Airwaves albums might be coming our way soon.

In a post on Instagram, DeLonge posted what appears to be a cover for one of his many novels. In the caption, he makes reference to the novel and then follows it up by confirming that an “all new AVA EP” is coming soon.

The Novel and all new /\// EP coming…

A post shared by Official Tom DeLonge (@tomdelonge) on

The Angels and Airwaves new record announcement comes on the heels of DeLonge’s release of his first solo album, To the Stars: Demos, Odds, and Ends which came out last month.

This “coming soon” record from Angels and Airwaves will be the band’s second release in a year. Last December, they released their fifth studio album, The Dream Walker.

Tom DeLonge Releases “Circle-Jerk-Pit” Video

Tom DeLonge’s solo album To the Stars: Odds, Ends, and Demos was officially released today, and to honor the eight-song record, the former Blink-182 singer released the music video for “Circle-Jerk-Pit,” a song that most definitely was a Blink-182 demo (or something from the Box Car Racer days).

Unlike the music video for “New World,” which showed an angered and pissed off DeLonge rather than the one the public had seen during the Blink-182 drama chronicles, “Circle-Pit-Jerk” shows a bunch of kids or “young adults” doing what they do best; skateboarding in empty pool, doing donuts in empty parking lots, and of course underage drinking (if they are underage, that is) while hitting golf balls at each other.

Ah, youth.

Also, no DeLonge in sight, unless he made a super quick cameo that we missed (it happens).

Check out the music video below.

Tom DeLonge Streams ‘To the Stars’

After months of teasing and giving fans something to look forward to, former Blink-182 singer Tom DeLonge has finally released his demo-filled solo record, To the Stars…Odds, Ends, and Demos.

For those who have yet to listen to the full album, or just can’t at the moment, DeLonge has posted all eight tracks in a playlist on YouTube which can be streamed below.

The playlist includes lead single “New World” as well as “The Invisible Parade” and his last song released, “Circle-Jerk-Pit” that was probably one of the Blink-182 demos he had talked about in the past.

Listen to the album below.

Tom DeLonge Streams “Circle-Jerk-Pit”

Tom DeLonge’s solo album is getting closer to being released and last night, the former Blink-182 vocalist released another “new” song from the upcoming record.

The new song is titled “Circle-Jerk-Pit” and sounds like it might have been one of those Blink-182 demos he teased fans about when he announced officially announced the released of To the Stars: Odds, Ends, and Demos. Just listening to the song, you can tell how reminiscent it is of old school skate punk songs or like many pointed out, Boxcar Racer’s “My First Punk Song.”

Check out the track below.

“Circle-Jerk-Pit” joins lead single, and recently released music video, “New World” and previously released track “The Invisible Parade” on DeLonge’s first solo record.

To the Stars: Odds, Ends, and Demos will be released on April 20 though, we’re not sure if DeLonge will be releasing any new tracks leading up to the release of the compilation.

Watch Tom DeLonge Destroy Things in “New World” Video

A month after releasing the lead single from his upcoming solo album, Tom DeLonge has given fans the official music video for “New World.”

The video begins with DeLonge sitting in what appears to be a rehearsal space with a drum kit, a guitars, and a piano in the room. Soon after, we see him get up and start destroying the space with his guitar. Good-bye goes everything including the drums, the piano, the television, lamps; you name it, he destroys it. Soon, there’s nothing on the floor but rumble.

In between shots of him destroying the space, we see him walking down the street, and even into a grocery store, with the broken up guitar put back together with black electrical tape. Best part was seeing him pushing a grocery cart with the guitar just sitting there like a child.

Watch the video below.

“New World” will be featured on DeLonge’s To the Stars: Demos, Odds, and Ends record due out later this month alongside previously released track, “The Invisible Parade.” With a few weeks left until its official released date (April 20), DeLonge still has one more song pending release, as he promise back at the beginning of March.

Tom DeLonge Releases “The Invisible Parade”

After promising to give fans the latest new song from his upcoming solo album, Tom DeLonge has come through.

The former Blink-182 frontman had promised fans during the day that his new track titled “The Invisible Parade” would be released by night’s end yesterday, but sadly, it was pushed back until today. We completely understand from a super busy guy like DeLonge.

Check out the acoustic and somber second “single” from To the Stars…Demos, Odds, and Ends below.

Taking to Instagram (his favorite form of communicating with his audience, we’re sure), DeLonge posted a quick message about who the song was written for.

To the Star…Demos, Odds, and Ends will be released on April 20 through DeLonge’s label. According to previous posts about the album, new songs will be coming our way every week.

Tom DeLonge Gives Update on His Long List of Projects

image

While Blink-182 are jamming out at previously scheduled shows with their “new” frontman, former singer Tom DeLonge has been keeping himself busy with a long list of projects.

Last week, the Angels and Airwaves frontman revealed that he would be releasing a total of four new albums this year. From those four, two will be Angels and Airwaves material and the other two will be more solo stuff.

Over the weekend, DeLonge also revealed that he would be releasing 15 novels which he had co-authored. Without any kind time frame for the releases of those novels, many publications and listeners alike, assumed all 15 would be released in 2015. According to a tweet from DeLonge last night, the 15 novels will be released during the course of the next four years.

Another key piece of information was also given about the novels on Instagram during the weekend. Turns out, some of the reason behind the “Blink blowout” had to do with the contractual lingo in his Blink contract which interfere with the contracts he already had with the six “best-selling authors” he was co-writing with.

“I told my manager the contract that was sent to me for the Blink deal contained weird new language that I had to drop all that music for almost a year. I said I couldn’t, but I could record the album in and around those things that were already in the works. He wrote them an email saying I’m out- (I didn’t know- and he was only talking about the deal) next thing you know, a press release saying things I didn’t say.”

But don’t attempt to go looking for that Instagram post, because DeLonge took it down almost as fast as he posted it. Read the full caption portion of the post below.

“One of the reasons all this Blink stuff went haywire was because I am in 6 contracts with Best Selling Authors that are co-writing 15 Novels with me personally. Each one has an EP soundtrack that launches with it. I told my manager the contract that was sent to me for the Blink deal contained weird new language that I had to drop all that music for almost a year. I said I couldn’t, but I could record the album in and around those things that were already in the works. He wrote them an email saying I’m out- (I didn’t know- and he was only talking about the deal) next thing you know, a press release saying things I didn’t say. Here we are….. Well…. Read a fucking book- at least one of mine, please. Christ.”

DeLonge will be releasing the first of four new album, To the Stars…Demos, Odds, and Ends on April 20. As for those novels and the rest of the albums on the list, only time will tell is he accomplishes it all by the end of 2015.

Tom DeLonge Posts ‘To the Stars’ Tracklist

While the newly revamped Blink-182 took the stage last night in California to show off the line-up, former singer Tom DeLonge was taking care of his own business.

DeLonge already released the lead single from the album, a track titled “New World” and has followed that up by revealing the full track list for To the Stars: Demos, Odds, and Ends.

Tom DeLonge Streams First Solo Track

image

It’s been a week since Tom DeLonge revealed he would be releasing a solo album which would feature his Blink-182 demos as well as some “odds and ends” he had put away.

As part of his plan, DeLonge will be releasing new songs from the album, To the Stars … Demos, Odds and Ends., every Monday. Today marks the first Monday of his schedule and also introduces us to his first official solo song (not affiliated with Angels and Airwaves, Boxcar Racer, or any of his side project), “New World.”

Sadly, there’s no word on whether this song was a Blink demo or an “odds and ends.”

Check out the track below.

Pre-orders for To the Stars have already begun on DeLonge’s website. Those who do pre-order the album will get a new track every Monday. As for the rest of us, the complete tracklist for the album will not be made public until March 16 with the actual album being released on April 21.
