Marina addresses what it’s like ‘To Be Human’ in new single

Marina’s new double album is a few weeks away from being released, and now the singer is gifting fans another music video to hold them over until then. On Tuesday (April 9), the Welsh singer unleashed the music video for her latest single, “To Be Human.”

“Thematically, ‘To Be Human’ sums up the headspace that I’ve come from in the past three years,” Marina reveals about the song.

“The subject matter is really important. I talk about unity, name-checking a lot of places around the world to create this picture of humanity because in our current political climate we are constantly being made to see different people as ‘other’ and I hate that.”

“To Be Human” will join previously released tracks “Orange Trees” and “Handmade Heaven” on her upcoming double album, LOVE+ FEAR. All three tracks will be featured on the LOVE portion of the collection. LOVE + FEAR is due out April 26 through Atlantic Records.

Pre-orders for the forthcoming release are available here.

LOVE + FEAR is the follow-up to 2015’s FROOT.

Last week, Marina surprised fans by unleashing LOVE three weeks ahead of its scheduled release date. To date, LOVE has garnered over 20 million streams worldwide.

Earlier this week, Marina made her live television debut on “Late Night with Seth Meyers “where she performed her latest “Orange Trees.”

In support of the new album’s release, Marina previously announced plans to embark on a month-long North American tour. The tour begins on Sept. 10 at Rebel Toronto and concludes on Oct. 9 at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver. Marina’s full tour itinerary can be found here.
