Listen to Thrice’s acoustic version of ‘Black Honey’

It’s been a few months since Thrice released their new album, To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere, and began touring behind the new release. Now, three months after the record hit stores, the band has given fans the chance to watch an exclusive acoustic performance of “Black Honey.” On Wednesday (Aug. 17), the official video of frontman Dustin Kensrue and guitarist Teppei Teranishi performing the acoustic version of the track was uploaded onto YouTube by Sixthman.

The original performance took place on June 10 at Sixthman’s offices in Atlanta, but has just been uploaded onto the video-sharing site. In addition to “Black Honey,” the duo also performed other tracks as part of the Sixthman Sessions; a series created to celebrate Sixthman’s 15-year anniversary as industry leaders in music festivals at sea. Thrice has been keeping busy since the release of To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere. Earlier this summer, they embarked on the first leg of their North American tour for the album. Currently, they are across the pond, touring, and will return in mid-September for the second leg of their North American tour.

The second leg of the tour is set to kick off on Sept. 15 at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco and wrap up a little under a month later on Oct. 8 at the Norvo in Los Angeles, CA. The complete list of upcoming tour dates can be seen below.

Thrice posts new song from impending album

Thrice’s ninth studio record is set to be released in a couple of days, so why not release another new song from it to tide fans over until then. During the weekend, the recently-reunited band released a third song from their impending new album, To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere. The new song is titled “Death from Above” and can currently be streamed below.

“Death from Above” will join “Black Honey” and lead single “Blood on the Sand” on To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere. To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere is set to be released this Friday, May 27, through Vagrant Records. In support of the new album, the California-founded band will be hitting the road with La Dispute and Gates this summer.

The North American trek is set to begin on June 3 at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles and wrap up a few weeks later on June 25 at The Summit Music Hall in Denver. This record also marks the follow-up to 2011’s Major/Minor.

Thrice release video for new single, ‘Black Honey’

Last month, Thrice debuted their new single, “Black Honey,” on NPR and now, the group has released the music video for the new track. On Tuesday (May 17), the recently reunited band premiered the music video for “Black Honey” which ended up being a little creepy but fascinating at the same time. The clip begins with a station wagon being driven down a road.

From nowhere, a kid appears on the street so the driver of the automobile decides to pick him up. At first everything seems okay, but then, things start to take a weird turn. At first, the driver of the car was Thrice frontman Dustin Kensrue, but as the camera shifts from the driver to the kid, the identity of the driver changes from other Thrice band members to random people. As the trip continues, the kid’s eyes start to glow until they reach a random location which appears to be e a corn field. Check out the video below.

Thrice confrim new album release, drop lead single

A little over a week after teasing fans with a short clip on Twitter, and a couple of days after confirming the title of their new record, Thrice’s return is now official. On Thursday (March 24), the California-based band uploaded their first single off of their upcoming album, To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere. The new track is titled “Blood on the Sand” and can currently be streamed below.

“Blood on the Sand” marks Thrice’s new song in five years with their last release being 2011’s Major/Minor. To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere is set to be released on May 27 through  Vagrant Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available on iTunes, Amazon, and on the band’s website.
