Listen to Taking Back Sunday’s new song ‘Death Wolf’

With a couple of days left until the release of their new album, Taking Back Sunday has unleashed another new song from it. On Monday (Sept. 12), the Long Island-founded band released the lyric video for “Death Wolf,” their third song off of Tidal Wave. The lyric video for the new song begins simply with guitarist/backing vocalist John Nolan in what appears to be his drive way.

The musician goes to his Ford Bronco and begins to pull down the bed of the truck. Once he’s sat on the tail, he pulls out a vinyl and places it on a record player. He turns back around and looks around as if he’s waiting for someone to join him. Lo and behold, a few seconds later, frontman Adam Lazzara appears with a white, plastic grocery bag containing a couple of bottles of beer and a sandwich.

As the duo munch on the sandwich and beers, the lyrics for the rockier tune displays below the otherwise mundane scene. In a way, it’s a nod to those days of just hanging out with your friends doing nothing but stuffing your face and listening to music. Or, for a two guys who are parents, just a few minutes away from the craziness of being an adult. Watch the lyric video for “Death Wolf” below.

“Death Wolf” will join “You Can’t Look Back” and title track “Tidal Wave” on Taking Back Sunday’s upcoming seventh studio album. Tidal Wave is set to be released this Friday, Sept. 16, through Hopeless Records. In support of the new album, Taking Back Sunday previously announced a fall tour which will find them performing at intimate venues across the country. The complete list of tour stops can be found here.

Things get bloody for Taking Back Sunday in ‘You Can’t Look Back’

Taking Back Sunday is scheduled to release their seventh studio album in a couple of weeks, so the group decided to release another new song from the upcoming record to celebrate. On Tuesday (Aug. 23), the Long Island-founded band unveiled “You Can’t Look Back”; the second single from Tidal Wave. Instead of a huge spectacle to announce the new tune, the group premiered the new song  exclusively on Spotify before posting its music video on YouTube.

The music video begins with a guy picking up his girlfriend at an undisclosed location. The two of them take the road to a desert with a blanket in hand for what appears to be some star-gazing. Instead of star-gazing alone, the couple end up at a bonfire with a group of friends. In the crowd of people perched around the fire, you can spot the guys from Taking Back Sunday hanging out. Suddenly, the video takes a turn for the weird and bloody when frontman Adam Lazzara begins to spit out blood. As Lazzara goes to person to person for help, they don’t seem to notice the bloody guy walking around, struggling. Watch the music video for “You Can’t Look Back” below.

“You Can’t Look Back” will join lead single and title track “Tidal Wave” on the band’s upcoming seventh studio album. Tidal Wave is set to be released on Sept. 16 through Hopeless Records. In support of the new record, the band will hit the road this fall for their intimate “Tidal Wave” tour. The trek will kick off on Sept. 17 at The Waiting Room in Omaha, NE and wrap up on Oct. 23 at Slim’s in San Francisco. The complete list of tour dates can be seen here.

Taking Back Sunday announce intimate fall tour

With the release of a new album in the near future, Taking Back Sunday has announced plans to hit the road in support of it. On Wednesday (July 20), the Long Island-based band took to social media to announce the upcoming trek. “Decided to do the next tour in smaller clubs. Because there are no rules,” the group posted on Twitter.

The intimate venues for the upcoming tour mirrors what frontman Adam Lazzara has stated in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Our idea is to go to the smallest clubs we can go to. We’d like to debut this record as honestly as we can and what better way to do that in a small club?” The fall tour which has been named the “Tidal Wave Tour” (named after the new album), is set to kick off on Sept. 17 at The Waiting Room in Omaha, NE and wrap up on Oct. 23 at Slim’s in San Francisco.

You Blew It! will support TBS for all the stop with the exception of Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 which will find Loose Talk filling in for them. Mammoth Indigo will open the shows from Oct. 5 to Oct. 11. Tickets for the tour will go on sale beginning this Thursday, July 21.

The complete list of tour stops can be seen below.

Tidal Wave is set to be released on Sept. 16 through Hopeless Records. This record will be the follow-up to 2014’s Happiness Is.

Taking Back Sunday release music video for ‘Tidal Wave’

A day after confirming the release of their upcoming new album, Taking Back Sunday has given fans more good news. On Tuesday (June 28), the Long Island-founded band released the music video for their lead single, and title track, “Tidal Wave.” The music video features behind-the-scenes clips of the band as well as them performing on the Taste of Chaos tour in front of what appears to be a sold out crowd. The barely three-minute-long video even features frontman Adam Lazzara’s signature microphone swing/toss. Check out the music video of “Tidal Wave” below.

Tidal Wave will be Taking Back Sunday’s seventh studio album. The new record is due out on Sept. 16 through Hopeless Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available on the band’s website and on iTunes. Earlier this week, Lazzara sat down with Entertainment Weekly and revealed that the new album will be a little different from their previous releases. “Tidal Wave is a bit of a departure, but I don’t think its coming out of left field. We realize anything we do is going to sound like Taking Back Sunday.”

Currently, the band is in the middle of their co-headlining stint on the 2016 Taste of Chaos tour. Tonight, the band and their tour mates Dashboard Confessional are taking a break but tomorrow (Wednesday, June 29), the bands will perform at The Crossroads in Kansas City, MO. The remaining Taste of Chaos tour stops can be found here.

Taking Back Sunday confirm release of new album

Taking Back Sunday is currently in the middle of co-headlining Taste of Chaos with Dashboard Confessional, so what other time would be the best to confirm a new album? On Monday (June 27), the Long Island-based band announced the release of their seventh studio album. The new record will be titled Tidal Wave, which is also the record’s lead single, and will be released on Sept. 16 through Hopeless Records.

The new album news was confirmed by Entertainment Weekly who sat down with frontman Adam Lazzara to speak about the new album. “We started writing in between tours on the [2014 album] Happiness Is cycle,” Lazzara tells the publication. The reveal was true. The first time the band played “Tidal Wave” live during their 2015 holiday show, it was recorded and uploaded onto the internet. Soon after, there was mounting speculation on whether it was a one-off song or if it would be part of a new album. As we know now, it’s not only part of the new album, but also the name of the impending record.

But, if deep down inside you were hoping for the record to sound like their earlier works alla Tell All Your Friends (2002) and Where You Want to Be (2004), then this might not be the TBS album for you. “Tidal Wave is a bit of a departure, but I don’t think its coming out of left field,” Lazzara says. “We realize anything we do is going to sound like Taking Back Sunday.”

As with any new record, Lazzara discloses that there are definitely plans to hit the road in support of the new album. “Our idea is to go to the smallest clubs we can go to. We’d like to debut this record as honestly as we can and what better way to do that in a small club?”

Agreed.

Tidal Wave is the follow-up to 2014’s Happiness Is.

Taking Back Sunday Perform New Song at Holiday Show

Back in September, Taking Back Sunday had performed a new song titled “Holy Water” at a tour stop in Philadelphia. Soon after the show, video footage of the new song was uploaded onto the internet with fans wondering if new music would be on the horizon for the Long Island band. Now, a few months later, it looks like there might be some more new music they have been keeping quiet.

On Monday (Dec. 21), footage of the band performing another new song was uploaded to the web. The new video comes from their second annual holiday show at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey this past Saturday (Dec. 19). During the show, they played a new song titled “Tidal Wave.” The fan shot video begins with frontman Adam Lazzara telling the story of how the song came to be and continues to the actual song.

Check out the fan shot video for “Tidal Wave” below.

If “Tidal Wave” and “Holy Water” are indications that 2016 may bring a new Taking Back Sunday album, then fans will be more than excited for the new record. Taking Back Sunday released their last album, Happiness Is… back in March of 2014 and have been touring extensively behind it since the release.
