Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Three Days Grace to embark on massive late summer tour

Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, and Three Days Grace are about to hit the road this summer in one of the most mid-2000s hard rock lineups we have seen to date. On Wednesday (Feb. 20), the three bands formally announced plans to embark on a massive North American excursion during the late summer months.

The forthcoming outing will find the acts performing at venues across the continent throughout July, August, and September. The 35-stop jaunt will include shows in Detroit, Hartford, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Dallas, Austin, and more.

The tour begins on July 21 at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis and concludes two months later on Sept. 25 at the USANA Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City.

Up-and-coming acts Dorothy and Diamante will hit the road alongside the threesome as the tour’s supporting acts (on select date).

Pre-sale tickets for Citi card members and Breaking Benjamin’s fan club, The First Order, are currently available. General tickets go on sale this Friday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. local time.

The impending summer tour is in support of Breaking Benjamin’s 2018 album, Ember. Like Breaking Benjamin, the upcoming trek is in support of Three Days Grace’s 2018 release, Outsider. As for Chevelle, the band is reportedly working on a new album. The yet-to-be-announced record will be the follow-up to 2016’s The North Corridor.

Winter may be in full effect in some places in the United States, but that just means we’re a lot closer to festival season. On Monday (Jan. 9), the people behind the “World’s Loudest Month” announced the complete lineup for the eleventh annual Rocklahoma. Def Leppard, Soundgarden, and The Offspring are just some of the big names heading to Oklahoma in late-May.

The music festival which has been dubbed “America’s Biggest Memorial Day Weekend Party” will also include performance from Taking Back Sunday, Pierce the Veil, The Pretty Reckless, Skillet, Suicidal Tendencies, Three Days Grace, Stone Sour, Seether and many more.

“Every year we try to find that delicate balance of talent at Rocklahoma, and the lineup we’ve put together for 2017 will not disappoint,” said Joe Litvag, executive producer of Rocklahoma, about the newly unveiled lineup.

“Def Leppard has been on the wish list of our most loyal fans since the festival was created back in 2007, and to couple them, one of the most influential British rock bands of the last 30+ years, with Soundgarden, one of the most respected American rock bands of our generation, is really special for us. Add to the mix some of the hottest developing talent like Pierce the Veil, The Pretty Reckless, Nothing More, and Rival Sons, and I think we’ve accomplished the goal of achieving one of the most diverse festival lineups of the year anywhere.”

Pre-sale weekend tickets and layaway packages will be available for purchase beginning Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. CST on the festival’s website. For those a little strapped for cash but wanting to go to Rocklahoma, the layaway option allows attendees to split the cost into four monthly payments. Following a few days of pre-dales, general, public sales will begin on Friday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. CST.

Rocklahoma will return to its home of the ‘Catch the Fever’ Festival Grounds in Pryor during the weekend of May 26-28. For now, the complete list of artists can be seen below.

Three Days Grace to Release First New Album Since Singer’s Departure

Three Days Grace may have had an original member randomly leave in 2013, but the rest of the Canadian band didn’t just pack it in and call it a day; they decided to soldier on for the fans.

Noe, the rock band have announced that they will be releasing their fifth studio album in late March.

The new record, titled Human, will be released on March 31. This record marks the first album the band have recorded without former vocalist Adam Gontier, who unexpectedly left the band back in 2013. While Gontier’s departure might have been bad news, the band kept on eventually adding Matt Walst as their vocalist.

As of now, two singles have been released from the record; “Painkiller” and “I Am Machine” which can be heard below.

When asked to describe the sound of the new record, drummer Neil Sanderson responded: ” We went back to our roots a bit and recaptured that collaborative feeling of being in a band and bringing out the best ideas in each other.”

Three Days Grace are scheduled to appear at the inaugural Northern Invasion Festival in Somerset, WI alongside Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, Anthrax, and more.
