Marilyn Manson Goes on a “Binge” in New Song

Marilyn Manson has taken a break from his acting career to return to what made him a house name: music.

The shock rocker has released a new song titled “Third Day of a Seven Day Binge.” The track will be featured on his upcoming new record which is set to be released in 2015.

The upcoming new album will not only be the follow-up to 2012’s Born Villain, but it will also mark Manson’s tenth studio album.

Earlier in the year, Manson spoke to NME about the new record which he revealed would be “very cinematic.” Considering who we’re talking about it doesn’t surprise us, but what’s surprising is his declaration that the record won’t be “about being pissed about the world.”

In the interview, he also revealed that the sound will be a mix of all the things he liked about his past record, but also mix some new elements.

“The redneck in me comes out in my voice, and it’s got some old blues mixed with the very hard elements,” he said about the change.

“I want to retain what I think is good about the past, what music I did and who I am. It’s not about being pissed about the world. It’s about realizing someone has to fuck things up.”

And he seems like the person to stir things up.

Recently, Manson has had a few television roles including a role as a supreme-racist in the last season of FX hit, Sons of Anarchy as well as a guest role on Once Upon A Time last year as “The Shadow” which kidnapped children.

As for the music front, aside from the new song, Manson contributed a song titled “Cupid Carries a Gun” to the soundtrack for WGN’s show, Salem. The song is used in the opening credit of the series.
