The Revivalists announce ‘Into the Stars 2020’ tour, launch the Rev Causes Fund

The Revivalists are taking the bayou back on the road in the new year.

On Tuesday (Oct. 22), the New Orleans-founded band announced plans to embark on an early 2020 tour. Dubbed the Into the Stars 2020 headlining tour (yeah, we know…it’s a long one), the trek will find the group performing at venues across North America.

The 13-stop outing includes gigs in Toronto, Harrisburg, Detroit, Columbus, St. Louis, Chicago, Norfolk, and more. The excursion kicks off on Feb. 28 at The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, and wraps up less than a month later on March 21 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Pre-sale tickets are currently available for purchase while general ticket sales begin this Friday, Oct. 25.

To coincide with the 2020 tour reveal, the band has also announced the launch of their Rev Causes Fund. One dollar from every Into the Stars tour ticket sold will be donated to their newly-established foundation.

According to the act, Rev Causes Fund is “an umbrella fund that will make donations to causes that are close to the band’s heart.”

“Rev Causes is a fund that supports the essential work of organizations dedicated to reviving and investing in our communities, our health, and our environment,” the band says in a press statement about their new foundation.

“By donating a portion of our ticket sales, and through fan donations and a variety of fundraising efforts, we aim to assist these exciting organizations in building a better future. Rev Causes is kind of like our music: It comes from a lot of different places and covers a lot of ground, but ultimately, it’s all about what we believe in. We’re proud to be supporting these causes and grateful for this opportunity to spread the love.”

The first set of causes that will benefit from the Rev Causes Fund are the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, Everytown For Gun Safety Support Fund, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Songs for Kids Foundation, and Upturn Arts.

Even if you’re not going to any of the Revivalists’ upcoming shows, you can still show your support by donating directly to any of the causes.

Before closing the book on their exhaustive 2019, the group still has a handful of shows on their itinerary.

Those gigs include Florida Man Music Festival in Orlando (Nov. 22), Riptide Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale (Nov. 23), 97X Next Big Thing in Tampa (Nov. 24), and their annual hometown shows at the end of December (RevHeads Ball on Dec. 30 at Tipitina’s and their annual New Year’s Eve show on Dec. 31 at the Fillmore).

Muse, The Killers, Twenty One Pilots to headline iHeartRadio’s ALTer Ego concert

Muse, Twenty One Pilots, and the Killers are just some of the rock bands that will make their way to California in early 2019 for iHeartRadio’s second annual ALTer Ego concert. On Monday (Oct. 1), the media giant confirmed the lineup for their alternative music-centric show. Joining Twenty One Pilots, Muse and the Killers on the newly announced roster will be Weezer, Rise Against, Bishop Briggs, and the Revivalists.

According to a press release, the event will broadcast live across over 70 alternative and rock iHeartRadio stations, giving listeners who couldn’t make it the show the opportunity to hear some of rock’s biggest artists live.

“This has become alternative music’s biggest night,” said John Sykes, President of Entertainment Enterprises for iHeartMedia. “Millions of fans will be listening and watching this incredible lineup performing on stage at the Forum.”

“This will be one of the strongest alternative performance lineups to ever appear on one stage,” mirrors Tom Poleman, Chief Programming Officer for iHeartMedia.

“It’s such a strong lineup that it’s impossible to refer to any one of these incredible artists as the headliner – in fact, several of the performers have told us that it’s a show they would want to go to even if they weren’t already on the bill.”

Those who would like to attend the event will be given a special 24-hour, pre-sale offer courtesy of Los Angeles alternative radio station, ALT 98.7. ALT 98.7’s pre-sale will begin this Thursday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. PST and conclude this Friday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. PST. General ticket sales will then begin on Friday at 10 a.m.

iHeartRadio’s ALTer Ego concert will take place on Jan. 19, 2019 at the Forum in Los Angeles.

ALTer Ego joins a lengthy list of iHeartRadio concert series including the iHeartRadio Music Festival, the iHeartRadio Music Awards, iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball concert tour, the newly launched iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina, the iHeartCountry Festival by AT&T, and the iHeartRadio Wango Tango by AT&T.
