Metallica, Disturbed, and Lynard Skynard to headline Welcome to Rockville 2020

welcometorockville_2020_header.jpgWhen you call yourself “Florida’s Biggest Rock Experience,” you better have the evidence to back that up, and the people behind Welcome to Rockville have done just that.

On Tuesday (Dec. 10), Danny Wimmer Presents unveiled the official lineup for the tenth annual Welcome to Rockville, and to say that it’s going to be a rocking weekend may be putting it lightly.

Headlining the decade anniversary of the Florida-centric music festival will be Metallica the Deftones, Social Distortion, Disturbed, The Offspring, Lamb of God, Lynard Skynard, and Godsmack, just to name a few.

Joining the previously announced acts on next year’s roster will be Dropkick Murphys, Rancid, Motionless in White, The Pretty Reckless, Hollywood Undead, Mastodon, Gojira, Anthrax, and many more. More acts will reportedly be announced at a later date.

Metallica’s appearance at Welcome to Rockville is part of an exclusive deal with Danny Wimmer Presents. The joint venture, which was announced in October, will find the iconic metal act headlining all five of the promoters’ hard rock festivals in 2020. They’ve already been confirmed for North Carolina’s Epicenter.

As previously announced, Metallica will headline, not one, but two of the three days (Friday, May 8, and Sunday, May 10). Like with Epicenter, the group will perform two completely different setlists so you won’t hear the same exact songs each night.

As for Lynard Skynard, their appearance at Welcome to Rockville will be their last-ever gig in the North Florida area (aka their home area).

Welcome to Rockville will take over the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, during the weekend of May 8-10. Tickets are currently available for purchase on the music festival’s website.

If the holiday season has taken your wallet hostage, then you’d be happy to know that Welcome to Rockville is offering layaway options throughout December for just $20 down per pass.

For now, check out the full lineup below.

The Offspring, Flogging Molly, Bad Religion lead Sabroso 2019 lineup

The Offspring, Flogging Molly, and Bad Religion are just some of the bands that will make their way to southern Orange County in early April for this year’s Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco, & Music Festival. On Monday (Jan. 28), festival organizers unveiled a rocking roster for the event’s sixth year.

Joining the aforementioned acts on this year’s list are the Descendents, Good Charlotte, Black Flag, Lagwagon, Strung Out, The Suicide Machines, D.I, Face to Face, Plague Vendor, Red City Radio, and Orange Blossom Special.

“Sabroso is now a WEEKEND of our favorite things: tacos, craft beer, and great bands!” says Dexter Holland of The Offspring in a press statement about this year’s event.

“We couldn’t ask for a more perfect lineup and a more perfect location inside of California State Parks…The Offspring, Flogging Molly, Bad Religion, Descendents, Black Flag, and all of the other great acts we have over the weekend… it really doesn’t get better than this,” says Synergy Global Entertainment and Sabroso co-producer John Reese.

“Between the music, unlimited craft beer tastings, tacos, wrestling and more, Sabroso is a can’t miss weekend!”

Like with past years, attendees will get the opportunity to get their grub on with unlimited tastings of gourmet tacos and over 150 craft beers.

In addition to the rocking bands that are set to perform, attendees will also get to see some real Lucha Libre-style wrestling. Renowned Mexico City luchador Cesar Gonzalez (Silver King) will return to Sabroso this year to defend his 2018 title of “King of the Ring.”

But if bands, food, and wrestling aren’t your thing, then maybe the 9th Annual Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Challenge may tickle your fancy. Professional eaters from around the world will compete for cash prizes and the highly coveted title of Chronic Tacos Eating Champion.

If you’re wondering how Sabroso will manage to fit all this excitement into one day, you don’t have to wonder any longer. This year will mark the first time the festival has expanded from one day to two.

Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival will return to its home of Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California during the weekend of April 6-7.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. PT.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Doheny State Beach Interpretive Association (DSBIA). The non-profit association, in conjunction with Doheny State Beach, is dedicated to the protection of the park’s beaches, facilities, marine refuge as well as its historical, cultural, and social stories.

The full lineup for the 2019 Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival can be found below.

“[Camp Anarchy is] a punker’s dream…three days of the best bands and so much to do while camping under the stars in Ohio. What could be better?” John Reese, Camp Anarchy co-producer and founder of Synergy Global Entertainment, says in a press statement.

Mirroring Reese’s excitement about the upcoming three-day event is Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge who said: “Super stoked to be taking part in the first ever Camp Anarchy music and camping fest next year!!!”

Dragge adds: “Looks like Legend Valley will become ground zero for some serious punk rock debauchery and musical mayhem. The Offspring, Rancid, NOFX, Bad Religion, Pennywise, X, Suicidal Tendencies, Less Than Jake, Fear? What the f*ck?!”

In addition to the rocking lineup, the event will also include craft beer tastings, dodge ball games, fair games, scavenger hunts, a flea market “full of stuff you probably don’t need but know you will want,” and a s’mores station for those with an epic sweet tooth.

Camp Anarchy will make its rocking debut at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio during the weekend of May 31 – June 2. Tickets go on sale beginning this Friday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. EST. Sublime announces slew of goods to celebrate 25 years of debut album

Sublime’s debut album is about to celebrate its 25th anniversary, so the remaining members of the group have decided to unleash a slew of goodies for their longtime fans to honor the occasion. On Tuesday (March 21), the California-founded band announced they will be reissuing 1995’s Badfish EP on vinyl for Record Store Day 2017 (April 22). This marks the second year the group has released something from their discography for the unofficial music lovers holiday. Last year, the band released their 1991 cassette, Jah Won’t Pay the Bills, on vinyl.

The Badfish vinyl will include the 40 Oz. to Freedom version of “Badfish” and “Don’t Push (Original)” as well as the live at Kommotion (Sept. 3, 1994) version of “Untitled Dub” on side A. The live at Kommotion (Sept. 3, 1994) version of “We’re Only Gonna Die for Our Arrogance” and “Roots of Creation” will be featured on the B-side of the vinyl.

When celebrating a record with a name like 40 Oz. to Freedom, it’s only fitting to release a beer and name it after the album and that’s exactly what Sublime plans to do. The group has teamed up with AleSmith Brewing Company to create a Mexican-style lager named “40 Oz. to Freedom.”

“It doesn’t taste like anything else,” drummer Bud Gaugh said in a statement. “The flavor is great and it has a craft beer flare with a true Mexican lager taste. This is the one!”

Late singer Bradley Nowell’s widow, Troy Holmes, added, “Being a beer lover, I’m so proud to partner with an elite world-class brewery like AleSmith and I know Sublime fans will absolutely love it! Like Bradley sang, ‘That second beer was such a turn-on.'”

A limited-edition batch of the beer will be bottled in 40 ounce containers and sold through the brewery as well as some yet-to-be-determined locations before they are nationally released as six packs.

As if the Record Store Day release and beer weren’t enough, the group will release their first authorize documentary which will reportedly tell the “real” story of the band. The film came together thanks to joint cooperation from Gaugh, bassist Eric Wilson, and the Nowell estate on the production end. As if that wasn’t enough Sublime on film, the group has also revealed that they are currently in the early stages of negotiations for a biopic about the band.

While Sublime hasn’t released any new music since 1996, the latest incarnation, Sublime with Rome, released their last studio album, Sirens, back in 2015. Rocklahoma 2017 banner

Winter may be in full effect in some places in the United States, but that just means we’re a lot closer to festival season. On Monday (Jan. 9), the people behind the “World’s Loudest Month” announced the complete lineup for the eleventh annual Rocklahoma. Def Leppard, Soundgarden, and The Offspring are just some of the big names heading to Oklahoma in late-May.

The music festival which has been dubbed “America’s Biggest Memorial Day Weekend Party” will also include performance from Taking Back Sunday, Pierce the Veil, The Pretty Reckless, Skillet, Suicidal Tendencies, Three Days Grace, Stone Sour, Seether and many more.

“Every year we try to find that delicate balance of talent at Rocklahoma, and the lineup we’ve put together for 2017 will not disappoint,” said Joe Litvag, executive producer of Rocklahoma, about the newly unveiled lineup.

“Def Leppard has been on the wish list of our most loyal fans since the festival was created back in 2007, and to couple them, one of the most influential British rock bands of the last 30+ years, with Soundgarden, one of the most respected American rock bands of our generation, is really special for us. Add to the mix some of the hottest developing talent like Pierce the Veil, The Pretty Reckless, Nothing More, and Rival Sons, and I think we’ve accomplished the goal of achieving one of the most diverse festival lineups of the year anywhere.”

Headlining the weekend-long event will be Metallica, Korn, and Soundgarden with each iconic band headlining one of the nights of the festival.

Watch Clowns Fight Each Other in The Offspring’s New Video

If you’re scared of clowns, then we might suggest you DO NOT watch the Offspring’s music video for their recently released new single, “Coming For You.”

Now, if watching clowns kicking each others’ asses in a fight-club style venue is your style, then we’ll suggest you do watch the video which showcases a crap ton of clowns taking each other out. Some even use some old-school tricks like a shocking hand buzzer, rope around the feet, and even pie in the face to get the upper hand in the fights.

Check out the video below which also features a different kind of “clown” taking everyone out.

“Coming For You” was release back in December, but The Offspring have been mum on whether this will be part of a new album aka the long-awaited follow-up to 2010’s Days Go By.

But even with no new record on the horizon (at least for now), they will be heading back on the road next month. Tour dates for that can be seen below which will also features a stop at  Montebello, Canada’s Amnesia Rockfest in June (not listed)  where they will perform their fifth studio album, Americana, in its entirety.

The Offspring 2015 Tour Dates:

April 4 – Tempe – Tempe Beach Park

April 25 – Dallas – Toyota Stadium

April 28 – Nashville – War Memorial Auditorium

May 3 – Columbia – Merriweather Post Pavilion

June 6 – Chicago – First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre

July 30 – Costa Mesa – The Pacific Amphitheater

July 31 – Los Angeles – The Hollywood Palladium

Canada’s Amnesia Rockfest Announce Tenth Anniversary Line-Up and Reunions

Canada’s Amnesia Rockfest will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in a big way this year with artists like System of a Down, Linkin Park, The Offspring, and Slayer making the trip to Montebello, QC for the weekend-long festivities.

But even with the big name headliners for this year’s event, it looks like the theme might be reunions and anniversaries. One of the several bands reuniting this year at the show will be Thrice, who officially said good-bye to fans in 2012.

Late last year, the band posted a cryptic photograph on their social media accounts with the band’s name and “2015.” Since then, there have been no updates unless you count frontman Dustin Kensrue releasing a new song yesterday or drummer Riley Breckenridge being part of Angels and Airwaves.

The new year is a month and a half in and it looks like one of the big things coming for them in 2015 is a reunion at the show. The timing of the reunion couldn’t come at a better time for fans of the California band since their fourth studio record, Vheissu, turns ten in October.

Sadly, this is as close as we have gotten to any updates from the Thrice camp.

But don’t leave it to Thrice to have all the fun during the weekend; Refused, From Autumn to Ashes and Atreyu will all be reuniting during the weekend-long festival. but like we said, it seems Amnesia is taking a page out of Riot Fest’s book and having bands performing some important albums from their discography in full.

The Offspring will perform Americana, the Deftones will perform Around the Fur and Rancid will perform…And Out Come the Wolves.

Check out the full line-up below.

Amnesia Rockfest will take place during the weekend of June 18-21.

The Offspring are “Coming For You” with New Song

After promising fans late last year on a radio show that new music was on the way, The Offspring have finally kept their promise rand gave those waiting eagerly a brand new song.

The song, titled “Coming for You” sounds like the kind of some that you would no doubt hear on every single sports commercial. Whether that’s a good ro a bad thing, it’s really up to what you think of the song. (Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries” is being used on every commercial and we still dig the song.)

Don’t believe us? Give the track a listen below and tell us you can’t picture the almost four-minute song being featured in a MLB or NFL commercial.

No word on if “Coming for You” will be the official first single from the Offspring’s yet-to-be-titled tenth studio album which will reportedly be released sometime this year.

We’re betting on yes.

The California band’s last album was 2012’s Days Go By and last year, they celebrated the 20th anniversary of 1994’s hit album Smash by going on a major tour with Bad Religion, Pennywise, The Vandals, Stiff Little Fingers, and Naked Raygun.

Riot Fest Announce Final Album to Be Played in Full

riotfest

When Riot Fest announced that this year would mark the festival’s tenth anniversary and their plans to make it an anniversary to remember, they told fans and future attendees that ten of the acts would be playing one of their hit albums in full.

Until now, the acts that had been confirmed to be doing this would include, The Offspring (Smash), Samhain (Initium), Weezer (The Blue Album), The Descendants (Milo Goes to College), Naked Raygun (Throb Throb), Jane’s Addiction (Nothing’s Shocking), Slayer (Reign in Blood), NOFX (Punk in Drublic), and the Get Up Kids (Something to Write Home About).

To keep fans intrigued, festival organizers have waited until today to reveal the last act and their album.

It’s Cheap Trick performing Heaven Tonight.
