Just when Nine Inch Nails fans thought they would have to shell out a lot of cold, hard cash to see their favorite band in Las Vegas during their residency, the group has put those worries aside. On Thursday (May 10), the Ohio-founded band announced plans to return to the United States for a massive fall tour.
Titled the “Cold and Black and Infinite” North American tour, the trek will find the band travelling/performing across the United States during the months of September, October, November, and December. The tour will kick off on Sept. 13 at the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix and conclude three months later on Dec. 12 at the Palladium in Los Angeles. Unlike most tours, Nine Inch Nails will have multiple night engagements at many of their stops including New York’s Radio City Music Hall), Boston’s Boch Center, Detroit’s Fox Theater, New Orleans’ Saenger Theatre, and Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom.
Hitting the road alongside Nine Inch Nails for the full run will be the Jesus and Mary Chain.
In an effort to combat scalpers, tickets for the tour will be sold in person at each of the venue’s box offices on Saturday, May 19. If your closest venue is the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., pre-sale tickets will be available at the Denver Coliseum Box Office on Sunday, May 20.
Show tickets will not be available online before or on the dates mentioned above and will be on a “first come, first serve” basis. If you’re planning on camping out the night before, it will also not happen. No one will be allowed to line up before 8 a.m. on the day tickets are to be sold.
“The promise of a world made better by computers and online connectivity has failed us in many, many ways, particularly when it comes to ticketing,” begins a post made by frontman Trent Reznor on the band’s website. “Everything about the process sucks and everyone loses except the reseller. We’ve decided to try something different that will also likely suck, but in a different way. We’re hoping many of you will be happy with the results, while some may do what they always do and bitch about it.”
According to the band, only a limited amount of tickets will be released online at a later date.
The “Cold and Black and Infinite” North American tour will be in support of the group’s finally confirmed third and final installment of their current trilogy series. The final installment will be titled Bad Witch and is due out June 22.
Bad Witch will join 2016’s Not the Actual Events and 2017’s Add Violence.
