Listen: Kelly Clarkson channels heartbreak in ‘Never Enough’ cover

With a week left until The Greatest Showman – Reimagined covers album is set to be released to the general public, the folks behind the forthcoming record have debuted another new song. On Friday (Nov. 9), Kelly Clarkson dropped her version of Jenny Lind’s tear-jerking track, “Never Enough.” Instead of going over-the-top, Clarkson keeps it simple by letting her iconic pipes shine through alongside a piano.

“I am so honored to be a part of The Greatest Showman – Reimagined,” said Clarkson via a press release for the newly released track. “‘Never Enough’ is a beautiful song and I hope y’all dig my version.”

Clarkson’s “Never Enough” cover will join Panic! at the Disco’s “The Greatest Show,” P!nk’s chart-topping version of “A Million Dreams” and the “A Million Dreams (Reprise)” performed by her daughter Willow Sage Hart on the forthcoming compilation.

In addition to P!nk, Panic! at the Disco, and Clarkson, The Greatest Showman – Reimagined album will also include a special version of the album’s breakout single, “This is Me.” The redone track will include Kesha and Missy Elliot as well as the film’s breakout star, Keala Settle.

The covers album will also feature four bonus tracks: a capella group Pentatonix’s take on “The Greatest Show”; Craig David’s version of “Come Alive”; Kesha’s “This is Me”; and an acoustic version of “Rewrite the Stars” by the film’s star Zendaya.

The Greatest Showman – Reimagined will arrive on Nov. 16 through Atlantic Records.

The reimagined version of the album was produced by the soundtrack’s songwriters Grammy, Tony, and Academy Award-winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

Listen: Panic! at the Disco debut their ‘The Greatest Show’ cover

Theatrics is one of Panic! at the Disco’s strongest suits, so being featured on the upcoming The Greatest Showman – Reimagined covers album was almost a no brainer. On Friday (Nov. 2), the Las Vegas-founded band unleashed their version of the soundtrack’s opening track, “The Greatest Show.” Originally performed by Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Zendaya, Keala Settle, and the Greatest Showman Ensemble, Panic! at the Disco’s version is clearly their own spin on the track as frontman Brendon Urie’s soaring vocals are unmistakable during the three-minute song.

“I admire Benj and Justin’s work and applaud the groundbreaking soundtrack they created for The Greatest Showman,” Urie said in a press statement. “I’m excited I got a chance to add a little of my own theatrics to the reimagined version of ‘The Greatest Show.’”

Listen: P!nk covers ‘A Million Dreams’ for ‘The Greatest Showman’ tribute album

“The Greatest Showman” is by far one of the year’s biggest hits. Both the film and its accompanying soundtrack have broken several records and won several awards. All this and 2018 hasn’t even ended. Because of its surprise accomplishments, Atlantic Records announced in early October plans to reissue the film’s soundtrack with some of music’s biggest stars taking on the film’s tunes.

On Wednesday (Oct. 24), P!nk released her contribution to the tribute album. The “What About Us” crooner was given the soundtrack’s second track, “A Million Dreams.” Originally recorded by Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, and Ziv Zaifman, P!nk stays true to the film’s version of the song with piano, guitar, an orchestra, and a lot of heart and emotion.

In addition to P!nk’s cover of “A Millions Dreams,” the reprise of the song was also released. As previously reported, the “A Million Dreams (Reprise)” was performed by the singer’s seven-year-old daughter, Willow Sage Hart. Listen to the “A Million Dreams (Reprise)” here.

As if the two songs wasn’t enough to get your fix, a behind-the-scene video of the mother-daughter duo recording their songs was also released. In the video, P!nk is seen cheering on her daughter, mouthing the lyrics to the song, and thanking the guys behind the movie/soundtrack for making this film.

“I grew up listening to ‘Annie’ and no one has done this for me, for my heart since I was a little girl,” Pink says in the clip. “And to have her finally have something like this…you made our favorite movie ever.”
