Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival Calls it a Day

Is it truly all over for the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival?

According to co-founder John Reese, 2015 was indeed the last year for the metal-centric festival.

Taking to Facebook following the final show of the tour which took place last night  (Aug. 2) in Dallas, Reese wrote a long letter in which he revealed that this year’s Mayhem Fest would be the last.

After eight years of blood, sweat, tears, and poor ticket sales, the co-founder’s letter thanked everyone who had been a part of the tour that was created to be the alternative to Ozzfest. Though it does seem like the tour is now over, for good, Reese does leave a little bit of silver lining with his closing of “with every end, there is a new beginning.”

Does this mean that he might have something up his sleeve for the future? Who knows, after all winter Warped, Taste of Chaos called it a day a few years ago and now it’s gong to be a one day festival in California.

Read Reese’s full letter below.

“Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival 2015 comes to an end. After spending 8 calendar years of passion and one full year of my life on the road with the festival, tonight is a very emotional night. All I know is we have all tried our damned hardest to make Mayhem a home for artists, a platform for bands to increase their fan base and a place where people feel welcomed.

Marina and the Diamonds Premiere New Video

Marina and the Diamonds have just out to rest her Electra Heart character in the music video for Electra Heart. The internet’s hidden gem darling, Marina Diamandis created the character back in 2011 for her sophomore album, of the same name. On the two-year anniversary of the released of “Fear and Loathing,” she put the persona to rest in a dramatic and beautifully conceived music video which takes a look back at previous videos.

The most memorable scene for fans is probably the moment that Electra Heart smudges her signature heart, marking the end of her for good. For now, you can check out the video for “Electra Heart” or Part 11 of the series. Word to the wise, you might want to check out the first ten videos before saying good-bye to the darling persona.
