Watch the Dangerous Summer live life to the fullest in ‘This is Life’

The Dangerous Summer just finished kicking off their fall time tour so what better time to drop a brand new music video. On Wednesday (Sept. 12), the Maryland-founded band unleashed the three-and-a-half minute clip for their latest single, “This is Life.” As explained by vocalist AJ Perdomo, the music video came together after the group’s van was broken into.

“This video was filmed after our van break in. All of our personal belongings and camera gear and footage was taken,” begins Perdomo. “Chris Simms had the idea to make a video documenting the rise up from the ashes, through our UK tour, and our next full US run. You can catch us on tour for the next two months, time to do it all again.”

Check out the full clip for “This is Life” above.

“This is Life” is featured on The Dangerous Summer’s self-titled record. The album was released this past January through Hopeless Records.

In support of the album’s release, the band just kicked off their fall 2018 tour. The trek will find them performing at venues across the United States (and one stop in Toronto) throughout the months of September and October. The Dangerous Summer will be joined by The Early November, Jetty Bones, and Save Face throughout the tour.

The Dangerous Summer to Release Book

tds

It’s almost been a month since the Dangerous Summer revealed their plans to disband after frontman AJ Perdomo had released a statement revealing his own personal plans to leave the group.

For those few days between his announcement and the band’s, fans already had seen the writing on the walls and knew the inevitable was going to happen; they would be breaking up, officially.

Today, another statement had been made by the band, but does not have to do with a reunion, but rather a book. Apparently, they had taken along so many photographers during their tours to take pictures of all the behind-the-scene antics and now they have put them all together into a book. A warning though, there’s a limited amount of them made so if you want one, netter buy it quick.

Check out the band’s statement about it below.

“We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the most amazing 8 years of our lives.

Over those years we have taken various photographers out on tour and into the studio to capture us behind the scenes. Here is our final farewell: 80 page, full color, high quality photobook capturing images through out the bands career.

The Dangerous Summer Officially Break Up

dangeroussummer

After announcing this weekend that frontman AJ Perdomo has left the band, The Dangerous Summer have officially revealed that the band had broken up.

Once the announcement had been made by Perdomo explaining his decision to leave the band, Property of Zack managed to get an interview with guitarist Cody Payne asking whether the band would soldier on without Perdomo. At the time, Payne had said that they were waiting to see what would happen and that things have not been exactly perfect within the band.

Perdomo, in his letter to fans, had said that Payne was the one in charge of everything from the band itself to the bank accounts and funding. Payne rebutted the claim by saying that all members of the band were heard when it came to situations and all the members also had access to the band’s bank account.

Today, the remaining members of the band addressed the situation by releasing a statement that confirmed what fans had been assuming to be the most likely scenario for the remaining members.

Read the full statement below:

“Dearest Fans,

To keep you all informed (accurately and unbiased) we are here to let you all know what the real deal is with TDS. Yes we are no longer a band. We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for letting us travel the world, create albums, and meet some of the coolest people and musicians on the planet.

Thank you for over 50,000 record sales and over 200,000 single sales and a fan base that blew our minds everytime we went on tour.

Sadly the day has come where AJ has decided to take up being a father and focusing on that aspect for his life.

As for future music Matt is planning to release a solo album and Cody has been forming a new band are both planning on releasing new albums sooner than later.

We have been selling our farewell “Albums” tshirt (which are almost sold out)http://dangeroussummer.bigcartel.com and next week will launch our ” THANK YOU FOR 8 YEARS” Photo / Memory book. Proceeds will go towards any remaining bills TDS may have and then split amongst the members and used to help record new music.

Thank you all and please continue to listen and spread the love of The Dangerous Summer.

Matt, Cody, Ben”

The Dangerous Summer’s Frontman Leaves Band

dangeroussummer

AJ Perdomo, the frontman for The Dangerous Summer has officially left the band. As to why he had left the band Perdomo has yet to comment on the situation but he did reveal that he plans to hold a Q&A tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. PST to answer fans’ questions.

When Perdomo revealed he had left the band, he followed it up to reveal that things may have not been as great as some may have thought. In the post, he reveals that things started when he made the decision to go home and start a family and all he wanted was to be there from the beginning and not miss things.

In the same post, he also made comments saying that guitarist Cody Payne had all the control of the band including funding, but according to Payne himself from an interview acquired by Property of Zack, the guitarist said that there was never any tension, money was split between all members, and all of them had access to the bank account and statement.

When asked if the band were officially done, Payne said, “We’ve broken up about 10 times. Sometimes people just need to chill out. AJ is really stressed and has had 8 months to find a job with a baby coming next month, yet he’s done nothing to find one. Even I found one literally the next day because I wasn’t sure what would happen.”

Ouch. Both men’s statements can be read below. If you are/were a fan of the Dangerous Summer, do you think they should just call it a day?

AJ PERDOMO’S STATEMENT:

Dear world,

I think it’s time to shed some light on my current situation with The Dangerous Summer. It’s hard to just sit here and let so many people live in the dark about what is going on.

6 months ago I made the decision to go home and be a father. Next month my daughter will be born, and I want to be there for her from the beginning. This is something that I’ve dreamt about my entire life, starting a family and raising kids of my own. I don’t want to miss this part of life. I know that I will never get a chance to live it again.

As far as the band goes, I originally wanted to do another album in time, and do some shows in the future. I wanted to carry on the name, and let the band just be stagnant while I spend time at home. It has come to the point where I can’t do that anymore. I’ve had a hard time sticking with Cody through this for a very long time, and there’s now a complete disconnect. I don’t have control over what the band does, says, or sells anymore; I don’t know what the future will be for them either. It has just become something that I need to personally disassociate myself from so that I can move on with my life.

I’m sad to let something go that has been such a blessing, and inspiration. Every one of you that came to the shows, sang along, and got tattoos of my words on your body; it is something that I’ll always carry with me. That was it for me, the Mecca of it all. You made me believe in myself and my abilities. You carried us to a place that we never imagined we could go. We started this band in high school, and did everything we set out to do plus some.

A serious thank you to everyone that has stuck by me through the thick and thin, you truly fulfill me. I love each and every one of you like a part of my family. You are the piece that I will miss the most through all of this.

As far as the future goes, I will always write and record music. I have these songs that are developing into something new already. I haven’t decided what to do as far as a band goes yet, but I assure you that you will be the first to know when it happens. I do hope that you will join me on my next musical journey.

I am not giving up on my dreams. I’ve lived my dreams, and I will continue to push their boundaries.

With love,
AJ Perdomo

I will hold a Q&A tomorrow at 6pm PST on twitter to answer anyones questions.

CODY PAYNE’S Q&A:

AJ Perdomo has left The Dangerous Summer. The statement came today, but when was that decision made internally?

We all as a band, including AJ, decided we weren’t going to announce anything and just see how things play out. Sometimes TDS isn’t our biggest obligation, and right now is one of those times.

The band has been quiet since a summer headlining tour. If AJ made his wishes known regarding leaving the band then, why has it taken over six months to become public?

When we first talked about it, we had said that we didn’t want to announce it yet because we weren’t sure what the future had in store and we had still been talking about doing another album. It just wasn’t a thing we wanted to consider quite yet.

AJ’s statement alleged that you, Cody, have total control over band funds and somewhat hinted that all cash flow (not counting music sales) are going to your pocket. That frames you in a specific light. What’s your reaction to that?

I wish that were the case. I’m not quite sure how he could come up with that considering we are all connected to the band bank account and can see where every dime goes. I have had jobs over the last few years and also do graphic design for a lot of bands in the scene, and I also won a lawsuit for $80,000, which helped me. The band hardly made a lot of money and the money we did make… none went to me (unless it was evenly split), and no, I never had total control over the band though I did have a strong vision but when it came down to it everyone would always get a fair say. Ben and Matt would always give their two cents, but AJ just was usually too preoccupied to respond to emails and text messages. Lets just say he was never dedicated.

The Dangerous Summer re-signed to Hopeless Records for another album before Golden Record even came out. Why do that if there was tension?

There was never tension, that’s one thing the websites and blogs and fans never understood. There were never fights or arguments or anything. We were always the best of friends when we were together.

Is The Dangerous Summer done?

Who knows. We’ve broken up about 10 times. Sometimes people just need to chill out. AJ is really stressed and has had 8 months to find a job with a baby coming next month, yet he’s done nothing to find one. Even I found one literally the next day because I wasn’t sure what would happen.

What would you like to say to fans as the sole original member of The Dangerous Summer?

As we all know, I’ve always been the one to take the fall when there is drama online, just because I’d rather it land on me than land on the band, especially if the issue truly did come down to one person. Though I’ve learned in hindsight that method isn’t always the best one. I know my reputation looks bad but I’ve learned to become less concerned with it. I know who I am and what I’ve done and I know that I am a good person who has always had everyone best interest in mind. I know my drive and my passions. If this is the end of TDS, than it was a very successful one but definitely more of a learning experience. Luckily, I’m only 24 with a whole lot of music left in me.

I hope AJ can get through what he’s going through, I’m sure his situation is stressful and sucks and I just hope he gets better so he can stop aiming his anger at other people. I’d hate for his child to grow up around that.

The Dangerous Summer Release Statement About Kickstarter Funds

dangeroussummer

Fans of the Dangerous Summer thought that back in 2012, it would be a great way to show support for the band by donating money to their Kickstarter campaign. The campaign was to raise $14,000 to fund a documentary in April of 2012, but not it’s 2014 and those fans have not seen the release of the DVD, or at least the official version of it.

Property of Zack had managed to get their hands on some of the “lost” footage from the documentary, but other than that, there has been nothing. Today, the band or more like guitarist Cody Payne, have finally felt the fire from the fans and have released a statement about the footage and the DVD.

The full statement from Payne can be read below:

“Sorry for letting you all down, this is 100% my fault and I understand the hate, disappointment and speculation. Just please try and understand how hard it is making a DVD when you have never done it and there were a lot of things that went unaccounted for when planning this thing.

This is not something we can simply refund as the money raised was used to make the DVD which the original version (which we personally were not satisfied with and wanted to redo) has been released in segments online at http://vimeo.com/jmvisuals and if you would like to listen to the hour long concert it is available at https://www.mediafire.com/folder/4sdc6i5a5ls7o/TDS I have learned that some people do not have any appreciation for artistic integrity and are simply consumers with needy hands.

Due to all the complaints we are just going to be releasing the original version. Most of the prizes, especially the more expensive ones have been fulfilled and more will continue to be fulfilled as I can come up with the funds out of my personal wallet. This may take some time but this is my fault and im going to have to take responsibility. once again sorry for letting you down,

Cody Payne”
