Coheed and Cambria are back with a new song and a new album on the horizon.

The record which has been titled The Color Before the Sun will mark the first non-concept record from the New York band.

While speaking to Kerrang! about the impending release, Sanchez revealed that they wanted “people to know that Coheed can write that sort of record. I’ve always said in the past that there’s never been a limitation on the band. It makes no sense to me to draw a line in the sand and never cross it.”

In anticipation of the new album, they have released the lyrics video for the first single off of it; a track titled “You’ve Got Spirit, Kid.”

Listen to “You’ve Got Spirit, Kid,” below.

The Color Before the Sun is set to be released on Oct. 9 through 300 Entertainment, a recently formed record label. While “You’ve Got Spirit, Kid” is currently streaming, the song will become available for digital download, globally, on Friday, July 10.
