Last night on NBC’s hit music competition show, The Voice, the judges did in deed ‘come together’ to perform The Beatles’ super hit by the same name.

Getting approval to use any Beatles’ track for something is a mission on its own (when Tomorrow Never Knows was used in Mad Men, AMC spent a reported $250,000) but somehow director Ryan White was able to do the impossible and got approval to use four tracks in his upcoming South By Southwest documentary.
The documentary, Good Ol’ Freda, tells thee story of Freda Kelly who was the iconic band’s secretary for 11 years. She was the one who took care of The Beatles’ fan club and everything else that they needed to get done. This isn’t the first time though that Kelly had been asked to be the subject of a documentary, but she kindly declined.
White says that the reason that she finally agreed to do the film with him was because she wanted to do it for her young grandson; she believes that it would be somewhat of a home video for him. He adds that the fact that Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the estates of both John Lennon and George Harrison allowed him to use four of their track in the documentary shows how much of an important asset Kelly was to the band.
White documentary will premiere on March 9 at SXSW.
