We Came As Romans plot ‘To Plant a Seed’ ten-year anniversary tour

The good news.

We Came as Romans are hitting the road next spring to celebrate their debut album’s tenth anniversary.

The bad news.

This will be the last time you will see any of those tracks on their setlists.

On Tuesday (Nov. 19), the Michigan-founded band announced plans to embark on an anniversary tour to celebrate the decade since they unleashed their debut album, To Plant a Seed. Dubbed the To Plant a Seed 10-Year Anniversary tour, the group will perform at venues across the continent throughout March and April 2020.

The newly announced gigs will include stops in St. Louis, Grand Rapids, Toronto, Montreal, Brooklyn, Baltimore, Atlanta, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and more. The over-a-month-long trek will kick off on March 5 at the House of Blues in Chicago and conclude on April 11 at Crofoot in Pontiac, Michigan.

In a post about the forthcoming outing, guitarist Joshua Moore announced that this will be the last time that any track from To Plant a Seed would grace their setlists.

“Over the course of 10 years, we’ve released four other albums, and we’re even working on a fifth! With that being said, we are going to be throwing these songs into the vault of old WCAR — and retiring them from all future setlists after this tour.”

The Devil Wears Prada, Gideon, and Dayseeker will join We Came as Romans during the springtime outing.

Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. local time.

Things have been relatively quiet for We Came as Roman since the untimely death of co-vocalist Kyle Pavone in 2018. Earlier this fall, the group unleashed two new songs, “Carry the Weight” and “From the First Note.”

Their last studio effort was 2017’s Cold Like War.

Boys Like Girls announce self-titled tenth anniversary tour

BLG

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Boys Like Girls. Their last album, Crazy World, was met with lukewarm reception from fans who were used to the group’s original pop-punk sound and were thrown for a loop when it was something along the lines of pop-country. Since its release in 2012, each of the band members have been concentrating on their own projects. On Sunday (May 8), frontman Martin Johnson, guitarist Paul DiGiovanni, and drummer John Keefe all began to post images on their social media pages with old-school pictures of the group, with an overlay of their debut record’s cover art, and the number ten.

On Monday (May 9), the speculation of a ten-year anniversary tour was confirmed. Confirming the announcement, the band posted a minute-and-a-half clip with lots of videos which rank from playing in what looks like an auditorium to their music video for “Thunder.” In honor of their debut, self-titled record, the group has announced plans to hit the road this August for a handful of tenth anniversary tour dates. The tour will officially kick off at the House of Blues in the band’s hometown of Boston on Aug. 5. After a couple of more East Coast stops, the band will wrap up the mini tour on Aug. 12 at Via Theatre in Chicago.

Pre-sale and VIP tickets for the shows will go on sale beginning Tuesday, May 10, at noon EST. For those who miss the pre-sales, general admission tickets will go on sale beginning this Friday, May 13 at noon, local time. Watch the band’s tenth anniversary tour announcement below, while the complete list of tour dates can be seen after that.

The Matches to Celebrate Tenth Anniversary of ‘Decomposer’

image

The Matches celebrated the tenth anniversary of their breakout record, E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals back in 2014 with a couple of shows in honor of the momentous occasion. Now, it appears like the band is planning to once again celebrate another momentous occasion. On Monday (Feb. 1), the California band announced that they will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of their second album, Decomposer. Though the record will official turn ten in September, the band has decided to do four shows in four different United States cities in June.

The first show will take place on June 4 at the Metro in Chicago. The second show will happen on June 10 at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles. The third show will take place on June 17 at The Masquerade in Atlanta while the final show will happen at New York City’s Irving Plaza on June 18. Tickets for the four shows will go on sale this upcoming weekend.

DECOMPOSER TENTH ANNIVERSARY SHOWS:
June 4 – Chicago, IL @ Metro
June 10 – Los Angeles, CA @ Teragram Ballroom
June 17 – Atlanta, GA @ The Masquerade
June 18 – New York, NY @ Irving Plaza

While the band has been highly inactive for several years, they did give fans some hope with some new music recently. Last year, they released two new songs, “Life Of A Match” and “The Crucial Comeback (Mary Claire).” Both tracks marked the band’s first set of new songs since 2008’s A Band in Hope. Maybe 2016 will have the band finally release a follow-up to the 2008 release, after all, it is only February. Besides, they did advise fans to “standby” back in September.

Circa Survive Announce ‘Juturna’ Tenth Anniversary Tour

After cryptically teasing that something big was coming in honor of the tenth anniversary of Juturna, Circa Survive have now confirmed what all fans have been hoping for.

As anticipated, the band or more specifically frontman Anthony Green, has revealed that they will be heading out on tour this Fall in honor of the tenth anniversary of their much-loved, debut record.

Green wrote on Facebook:

“This fall we’ll be touring North America celebrating the 10 year anniversary of ‘Juturna’ by performing the record in its entirety. It’s hard to believe this album is ten years old because it still means so much to me. It’s the first chapter in the story of Circa Survive and I owe so much to it. Playing these songs is like reading a message I wrote to myself from the past and I can’t wait celebrate them with new and old fans. – Anthony”

The tour will kick off on Oct. 23 at the Best Buy Theater in New York and wrap up a month later at the Starland Ballroom in Sayerville, NJ. Heading out on the road with them will be RX Bandits and reportedly one other band that has yet to be revealed. At the present time, that slot is filled by “TBA.”

In addition to the tour celebrating the tenth anniversary of the album that gave us “Act Appalled,” Circa has also revealed that they  will be releasing a special limited edition 3xLP deluxe vinyl reissue of Juturna. The catch is the number of vinyls that will be pressed for the occasion; 2,500. The deluxe vinyl reissue will contain 34 tracks, three different looking records, and will be housed in a triple gate fold jacket with expanded art. For more information, check out the band’s website.

Also, don’t forget to also check out the tour dates for the “Juturna Tenth Anniversary Tour.” VIP tickets for the show are now on sale while general admission tickets will go on sale beginning this Friday, July 31 at 10 a.m., local time.

Underøath ‘Define the Great Line’ Tenth Anniversary Won’t Happen

If you were hoping Underøath would reunite following their official disbandment in 2013 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their fifth studio album, Define the Great Line, then we’re sorry to announce that it’s not happening.

At least, not at the moment.

In a recent interview with MindEqualsBlown, former lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain revealed the news, breaking the hearts of fans who grew up with the album which turns ten in 2016.

“Yeah, I mean, I’ve talked about it, We all talk about it. We talk all the time. But it’s not realistic, like Aaron plays drums in Paramore, I do Sleepwave, Tim owns a merch company, Chris has a full-time job,” said Chamberlain.

But maybe not all hope is lost.

“It’s really if the star aligned. No one is against doing it. I’m still out here doing this. I would take a break for a month to do a full U.S. tour. I think for me, it would have to be a full tour.”

See, hope.

On that “if the star align” note, it appears Chamberlain isn’t the only one with that mentality when it comes to the potential of a Define the Great Line tenth anniversary tour.

During an interview with Alternative Press about the band’s recently released DVD, Tired Violence, guitarist Tim McTague said something very similar about a reunion.

“I don’t think any of us are necessarily opposed, it’s always just [up to] our schedules. None of us left the band hating it; none of us don’t like each other. If anything, we talk about how we all miss it. I think something like that is 100 percent possible.”

And not to be left out, former drummer Aaron Gillespie also said that if there were to be a reunion that he would do it “100 percent. Easily.”

With that being said, it might be time to get all the Underøath fans together and see if they can change the band members’ minds. Or maybe the band is planning it in secret and want to surprise fans come 2016. Who knows.

The Spill Canvas Announce ‘One Fell Swoop’ Anniversary Tour

image

This August, the Spill Canvas’ sophomore album, One Fell Swoop, will officially turn ten and in honor of the momentous occasion, the band have decided to head out on their own tenth anniversary tour.

“It’s so unbelievable to me that ten years later, we’re still able to call this dream we had our jobs,” said Spill Canvas frontman Nick Thomas.

“We’re grateful and honored to be able to play our fans an album front to back that means just as much to us as it does to many of you. It’s been such a long time since we’ve played some of these songs, and even longer for the few we’ve never even played live before. We’re beyond excited to get back out on the road, and hope to see you at a show.”

The almost month-long trek will begin on Aug. 5 at the Larmier Lounge in Denver and wrap up on Aug. 23 at The Middle East (Upstairs) in Boston. The band will welcome the Press War onto the trek about half way through the journey (at the Pinelands Music Festival in Millville, NJ, to be exact).
