Dan Reynolds, Kesha, Tegan & Sara to headline LoveLoud Festival 2019

Kesha, Tegan & Sara, and Martin Garrix are just some of the acts who will make their way to Utah in the summer for the annual LoveLoud Festival. On Wednesday (March 13), festival creator and Imagine Dragons’ frontman Dan Reynolds formally announced the lineup for the 2019 incarnations of the annual event.

Joining Kesha, Tegan & Sara, and Martin Garrix on the lineup for the third annual festival are PVRIS, Grouplove, Daya, K. Flay, Laura Jane Grace of Against Me!, and Reynolds. According to a press statement, additional performers and speakers will be announced at a later date.

“I’m truly honored and humbled to be headlining LoveLoud this year,” Kesha said in a statement.

“I stand with my talented friend Dan Reynolds and Imagine Dragons in this fight for equality. We need to make sure that all LGBTQ+ people feel accepted and supported and that families have the support that they need. It’s important to try to keep families together and having positive, open-minded conversations and, for me, to be a part of something that can continue building the bridge to create a safe space for everyone sounds like a beautiful opportunity. A place that supports all people and all love.”

Reynolds founded the LoveLoud Foundation and its companion festival in 2017 as a way to raise money and awareness for organizations that benefit the LGBTQ+ community, particularly those focused on mental health and suicide prevention.

As with the past incarnations of the festival, this year they aim to raise more than $1,000,000 which will be donated to a slew of LGBTQ+ organizations including The Trevor ProjectGLAAD, the Human Rights CampaignTegan and Sara Foundation, and Encircle. Last year, the festival surpassed its goal.

LoveLoud Festival will take place on June 29 at the USANA Amphitheatre in West Valley City, Utah. The date for the one-day event also has a special meaning; it’s the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

On June 28, 1969, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay club in Greenwich Village, and roughly hauled employees and patrons out of the bar. The next day, angry patrons and neighborhood residents took to the streets to protest the treatment which led to violent clashes between the protesters and law enforcement.

For those who will not be able to make it in person, the entire event will be live-streamed on AT&T’s social media channels.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 15, at 10 a.m. MST. For returning LoveLoud Festival attendees, an exclusive pre-sale is currently happening here.

outsidefest

The Outside Lands Festival isn’t slated to happen until August, but the organizers have already unveiled who will be performing at this year’s event and like many of the festivals happening this Summer, it’s one that you do not want to miss.

Headlining the event will be Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers who will make history by being the only performer to headline the show twice. Kanye West, the Killers, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, the Arctic Monkeys and Tiësto will round out the headlining spots when the three-day event returns to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.

But if you though that the headlining line-up were impressive then you are in for a surprise because the supporting acts are just as good as those taking the main stage. Supporting acts will include:  Death Cab for Cutie, the Flaming Lips, Disclosure, Ray LaMontagne, Kacey Musgraves, Spoon, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Tegan & Sara, Haim, Chromeo, Duck Sauce, Cut Copy, Atmosphere, Lykke Li, Capital Cities, Ben Howard, SBTRKT, Jenny Lewis, Local Natives, Phosphorescent, Chvrches, Paolo Nutini, John Butler Trio, Boys Noize, Christopher Owens, Run the Jewels (El-P and Killer Mike), Warpaint, Deer Tick, Holy Ghost!, Big Freedia, Dum Dum Girls, Bleachers, The Kooks and Mikal Cronin.

The Outside Lands festival is scheduled to take place during the weekend of August 8-10 while pre-sales will go up on April 10th at 10 a.m. PDT on the Outside Lands website. Aside from all the cool musical acts, the festival will also host 200 gourmet food and drink options including their Wine and Beer Lands, Choco Lands, and Cheese Lands.

Tegan & Sara to Head Out on “Let’s Make Things Physical” Tour

Tegan and Sara Quin

Tegan and Sara were one of the biggest artists to come out of 2013, and it doesn’t look like they going to be slowly down anytime soon. The sister-duo toured with P!nk last year and will be heading out on tour with Katy Perry on her upcoming Prism Tour. Now, the group have revealed that they will be heading out on their own headlining tour this Summer.

The Let’s Make Things Physical Tour is slated to start on May 6 at the Blue Note in Columbus OH and go all the way through to July 6 where they will close out the tour at the Sasquatch Music Festival in Washington State. There is a two-week gap in the middle of the tour which can be when the group will join the Prism Tour.

Also joining the electo-duo will be Lucius, The Courtneys, and My Midnight Heart. The Courtneys will be opening for them on all tour dates, minus Sasquatch, but Lucius and My Midnight Heart will alternate in the second opening act spot.
