We will be the first to admit that we knew nothing about the Night Terrors of 1927 until yesterday when Bleachers announced the duo from Los Angeles would be heading out on tour with them. After checking out their recently released single from their EP, we have to say, we like their 1980s synthy-pop sound very much.

Now, a day after the announcement was made, the duo have released the music video for their song “When You Were Mine” which features special guests, Tegan and Sara.

Check out the song and the music video below.

2014 JUNO Award Winners

junos

Last night Canada held their own version of every single music award that the United States has to offer, but with Canadian artists taking the lead in most of the award categories.

The Arcade Fire, who have had a fantastic year, went home with “Alternative Album of the Year” as well as “Album of the Year” for Reflektor and accepted their award via video from South America.

Tegan and Sara also came home winning after the stellar 2013 and beginning of 2014. The sister act went home with “Group Of The Year” for their catchy tune, “Closer.” The sister from Calgary accepted the award with a speech that thank everyone for letting “two queer kids from northeast Calgary” win the prize.

While most of the award show was all good, when Justin Bieber won his award for “Fan Choice” beating out Celine Dion, Drake and Michael Buble, the audience boo-ed him even though her wasn’t even present.

“Songwriter of the year” recipient Serena Ryan scolded the audience for booing the pop star though, some would wonder why she would do that, considering the way he has been acting as of lately and the way his fans are the bane of everyone’s existence.

Check out the full list of winners below.

Tegan and Sara Cover P!nk

Tegan and Sara Quin

Tegan and Sara had a killer 2013 and it looks like the sister duo are showing no signs of slowing down in 2014.

Last week, it was announced that they would be heading out on tour with “California Gurl” Katy Perry on her upcoming ‘Prismatic’ Tour as the supporting act on a big chuck of the tour.

But that’s not where their connection to some of today’s pop stars end. Recently, they performed “Just like a Pill,” one of P!nk’s hit songs, right in front of the bad ass pop star.

Talk about lots of pressure.

The performance was part of Billboard Women In Music 2013 event. In the beginning of the video Sara reveals how they were honored to be given the chance to cover the song and even describes how she felt when she first saw the music video for the song.

The intro speech is hilarious and serious at the same time and the cover is really good, so check it out below.

‘Dallas Buyers Club’ Soundtrack Tracklist Unveiled

dbc

One of the movies that has gained buzz this year is one that tells the story of a man who is HIV positive man and his search for medical treatment. Before you think it’s just another made up story from the mind of some Hollywood writer, this story is based on a real life man.

Dallas Buyers Club tells the story of Ron Woodroof, a Texan electrician and his battle with the medical establishment and pharmaceutical companies after being diagnosed as HIV-positive in 1986. The story also follows him as he searches for alternative treatments that helped established a way in which fellow HIV-positive people could join for access to supplies.

While the story is one that has been gaining people’s attention since photos surfaced of its star, Matthew McConaughey who plays Woodroof looking more like a skeleton than his usual self as well as co-star, Jared Leto getting in touch with his female side, the soundtrack is also something that has been gaining some attention.

The tracklist for it had been recently released and since Leto is in the film, it was only assumed that his band, 30 Seconds to Mars will also be on the soundtrack. Also making the list are Capital Cities, The Airborne Toxic Event and Manchester Orchestra among many more.

Check out the full list below.

Dallas Buyers Club is set to be released on November 1 while the soundtrack is slated to be released the Tuesday before,  on October 29.

Tegan and Sara and Taylor Swift, Oh My!

Watch Tegan And Sara perform “Closer” live with Taylor Swift

If you think that Tegan and Sara and Taylor Swift might be a weird combination, well you wouldn’t be alone.

What’s surprising about it is, that the sister duo and the pop star just recently performed together. During Swift’s sold out show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Tegan and Sara appeared on the stage to perform “Closer,” the lead single from their latest album, Heartthrob.

Tegan and Sara aren’t the only ones who have performed with the “I Knew You Were Trouble” star; Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, and Jimmy Eat World’s Jim Adkins have also appeared as surprise guests alongside pop star during her mega successful RED tour.
