Relient K and Switchfoot to embark on fall tour

In February, Relient K unveiled a brand new song; their first since the release of their last album back in 2013. On Monday (May 16), things changed when the Ohio-based band not only confirmed the release date for their new record, but also news that they have plans of hitting the road. Earlier this year, the band confirmed that their new album would be titled Air for Free and even released the first single off of it, “Look On Up.” Monday morning, the group announced that Air for Free will be released on July 22 through Gotee Records.

In support of the impending record, the band will be hitting the road alongside fellow “Christian” band, Switchfoot. Like Relient K, Switchfoot will be hitting the road in support of their own upcoming, new album, Where The Light Shines Through. The upcoming release marks the band’s tenth studio album and is set to be released on July 8 through Vanguard Records. The record was produced in collaboration with John Field, who worked on the band’s breakthrough record, The Beautiful Letdown.

The fall tour will kick off on Sept. 19 at the Paramount Theatre in Denver and wrap up a little over two months later on Nov. 26 at The Masonic in  San Francisco. Tickets for the trek will go on sale beginning this Friday, May 20, at 9 am local time on both bands’ websites. The complete list of upcoming tour dates can be seen below.

Fashion Meets Music Festival Reveals Line-Up

fmmf

Whoever said that music and fashion go together was definitely onto something and the fact that it has taken this long to combine the two into a festival is a surprise.

A few months ago, it was revealed that a new festival that combined both music and fashion would be making its debut in Ohio later this year. At the time it was a pipe dream that was on the verge of becoming the real thing.

Now, with the reveal of the line-up of performers, this dream has quickly become a dream come true for the founders.

On the music side of the event, Circa Survive, Local Native, Parachute, Switchfoot, New Found Glory and many more have already been confirmed with the announcement that was made yesterday. On the fashion side of the event, designers such as , local designer Kelli Martin, who competed on “Project Runway” is set to appear on behalf of her brand, Alternative Fashion Mob.

The updated flyer with the performers can be seen below as well as the video which was released to announced the line-up.

Take two alternative bands’ frontmen and give them one of 2013’s most played songs and what do you have?

You have this.

In the video posted below,Brian Dales of the Summer Set and Jon Foreman of Switchfoot covered Lorde’s hit song, “Royals” while performing at To Write Love on Her Arm’s Heavy and Light showcase at the House of Blues on Sunset in Los Angeles two weeks ago.

This was also before Foreman suffered an accident during a show where a fan slashed him while the frontman attempted to crowd surf in San Diego.
