We may be suffering from a severe case of the winter blues, but that’s not stopping us from daydreaming about the warm weather and all the music festivals that come with it.

On Tuesday (Nov. 19), the masterminds behind some of the best rock-centric music festivals in the United States announced the lineup for the 2020 incarnation of North Carolina’s Epicenter. Let’s just say, it’s going to be EPIC (yes, we did use a pun).

As previously announced, Metallica will headline not one, but two of the three days (Friday, May 1 and Sunday, May 3). According to Metallica, they will perform two different setlists, so no, you won’t hear “Enter Sandman” on both nights.

“We’re headlining in Charlotte, NC with 2 different sets,” the band tweeted.

Metallica’s appearance at Epicenter is part of an exclusive deal with Danny Wimmer Presents. The joint venture, which was announced last month, will find the iconic metal act headlining all five of the promoters’ hard rock festivals in 2020.

“Metallica isn’t just another headliner. When Metallica takes the stage, it’s an event. It’s an experience. That’s the same standard we’ve set for every DWP festival – from the first band to the last band, and everything that happens in between. I can’t wait to bring the biggest band in the world to the biggest rock festivals in America,” says Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents.

“Metallica paved this road that we travel. How many artists on the bill at these five festivals first picked up an instrument, or first started a band, because of Metallica?”

The massive lineup will also feature an exclusive 2020 North Carolina performance by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Disturbed, Deftones, Godsmack, Volbeat, Staind, Papa Roach, David Lee Roth, Gojira, Chevelle, Cypress Hill, Rancid, Royal Blood, Anthrax, Dropkick Murphys, I Prevail, Alter Bridge, and many more round out the next year’s roster.

In addition to the massive lineup, Danny Wimmer Presents also revealed that Epicenter will move to the Charlotte Motor Speedway. According to a statement, the relocation was one of the biggest requests from fans.

“We’re pleased to announce that Epicenter is moving to Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Rock City Campgrounds,” says Danny Wimmer Presents CEO Danny Hayes.

“The new location offers plenty of nearby lodging, increased camping, and convenient travel options. The number one request we received from the fans was to move the festival to Charlotte, …and we listened.”

Epicenter 2020 will take place during the weekend of May 1-3 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Rock City Campgrounds in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tickets for the weekend-long event are currently on sale.

The full lineup can be found below.

Slipknot, Guns N’ Roses, and Disturbed are just some of the bands who will make their way to Kentucky in late September for the 2019 edition of Louder than Life. On Monday (April 8), Danny Wimmer Presents, the production company behind some of the country’s biggest music festivals, unveiled the full lineup for this year’s event.

Joining Slipknot, Guns N’ Roses, and Disturbed on this year’s roster are Godsmack, Ice Cube, A Day to Remember, Rob Zombie, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Halestorm, Marilyn Manson, Staind, and more.

This year’s Louder than Life will be Guns N’ Roses’ first performance in 2019 as well as Staind’s first public performance in five years.

“We wouldn’t be living up to the name Louder than Life if we didn’t come back bigger and badder than ever, giving fans something they can’t see anywhere else,” festival producer Danny Wimmer said in a press statement.

“Getting Staind back together and plugged in on the main stage is something that I’ve been working on for years. These are songs that need to be heard, that fans have been dying to hear — Staind has been one of the most requested bands on our socials, and it’s an honor to be bringing their music back for the fans at Louder than Life.”

He continues: “Slipknot has always had some of the most loyal, rabid fans in rock, but now they are at that pivotal moment when they’ve crossed over into iconic status; Disturbed has had their best touring numbers to date this year; then top it off with one of the biggest rock bands of all time in Guns N’ Roses…this year is our most massive lineup yet.”

In total, over 50 bands will take over one of three stages during the three-day event.

In addition to the rocking lineup of acts, attendees will also get to enjoy award-winning bourbons, whiskey, spirits, craft beer, and “the best food Louisville has to offer.”

Tickets for Louder than Life are currently available on the festival’s website. As usual, they will be offering single-day passes, three-day passes, VIP packages as well as hotel and camping passes.

For fans attending Louder than Life’s sister festivals Hometown Rising Country Music & Bourbon Festival (Sept. 14 – 15) and Bourbon & Beyond (Sept. 20 – 22),  a special Trifesta pass is available for purchase. The Trifesta pass includes general admission into all three music festivals.

Louder than Life will make its grand debut at its new home of Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center in Louisville during the weekend of Sept. 27-29.

Staind Singer Goes Off on Creeps at Concert

staind

If you are a girl who likes to crowdsurf at concerts then, you know what it’s like when creepy guys in the crowd start to feel you up in the most inappropriate ways and that is exactly what happened at a Staind show over the weekend.

The band was performing at Rockfest in Kansas City with Korn and Killswitch Engage as well as other bands when in the middle of the band’s performance, frontman Aaron Lewis cut the song “Something To Remind You” short to go off on the “fucking assholes” who were “molesting” a young girl trying to crowdsurf.

“Alright, listen up, you fucking assholes. That fucking girl right there is like fifteen fucking years old, and you fucking pieces of shit are molesting her while she’s on the fucking crowd.

If I fucking see that shit again, I swear to god, I will point you out in the crowd and have everyone around you beat your fucking ass.”

Footage of Lewis calling out those doing the molesting was shot and can be seen below. And for the love of everything guys, just because a girl wants to crowdsurf it doesn’t mean they want your nasty paws on all over them like a steak. Chill out.
