Fashion Meets Music Festival Announce 2015 Daily Schedules

Ohio’s Fashion Meets Music Festival is slated to kick off its second year in early September, and with less than a month before the world of music and fashion combine to put on a heck of a show, festival organizers have unveiled the daily schedules for the two day festival.

The official list of artists for this year’s event was released back in March and included a mix of acts from different genres to give everyone a little bit of something to look forward to. Young the Giant, Ludacris, AWOLNATION, Taking Back Sunday, O.A.R, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, St. Vincent, and many more will hit one of the four stages at the festival.

The complete daily line-up for the festival can be seen below, so make sure to plan accordingly so you can see everyone that you want.

SATURDAY:

SUNDAY:

The Fashion Meets Music Festival is slated to take place during Labor Day weekend (Sept.5-6) at Columbus’ Arena District. Tickets for the festival are still on sale, but unlike last year, all the events are ticketed; last year there was a mix of ticketed and non-ticketed events which probably led to major headaches.

Boston Calling Announce Spring 2015 Line-Up

image

While everyone was sucked in by the cool unveil of the Bonnaroo line-up and every possible social media account around, another festival decided to unveil their own line-up as well.

Boston Calling will be holding its first of two annual music festivals during the weekend of May 22-24 at City Hall Plaza in downtown Boston with many names that seem to be making 2015 the year of their festival appearances.

Headlining the yearly event will be Beck, My Morning Jacket, and the Pixies while sub-headliners will include Tame Impala, St. Vincent, TV on the Radio, and Tenacious D.

Other acts confirmed for the weekend long event include: Gerard Way, Marina and the Diamonds, Vance Joy, Run the Jewels, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminal, Chet Faker, Jungle, The Lone Bellow, and current radio darling, Tove Lo.

Check out the festival’s video announcement below which, for some reason, reminds us of the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” video. Maybe it’s the fake mustaches?

General admission tickets go on sale today (Wednesday, Jan. 14) beginning at noon on the festival’s website. Early Bird 3-day passes are $160, while those interested in 3-day VIP tickets will be put back $300.

Artists Come Together to Celebrate Nirvana

DaveGrohlKristNovoselic

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have finally been admitted to the museum and how else do you celebrate the honor than to host a big ceremony and then follow it up with an invite-only, intimate show?

That is exactly what went on last night. The remaining members of Nirvana -Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear- reunited at St. Vitus in Brooklyn, New York for an intimate set of Nirvana songs. Though Kurt Cobain left big shoes to fill, Joan Jett, St. Vincent, Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis, and Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon all did their best to fill the role, even for one song.

Jett sang “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” St. Vincent performed “Lithium,” Gordon also sat in throughout the jam session while surprise guest Lorde took on “All Apologies.”

As for the ceremony, R.E.M. frontman, Michael Stipe was chosen to honor the band and that he did when he proclaimed that they “tapped into a voice that was yearning to be heard.” It also helped that Stipe was the godfather to Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s daughter, Frances Bean.

Watch all the videos from the show here:

LORDE, “ALL APOLOGIES”:

JOAN JETT, “SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT”:

ST. VINCENT, “HEART SHAPED BOX”:

ST. VINCENT, “LITHIUM”:

Also included in this year’s induction class were  Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens, KISS, The E Street Band and many, many more.
