Ed Sheeran Covers Beyoncé

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran performing Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love” from her secretly released album. In stead of taking the song the direction that Beyoncé did with a more sexual connotation, Sheeran made it his own by transforming it into an acoustic diddy. Performance took place during the Ryan Seacrest Show where he was showing off a new song that will be on his new album, the follow-up to 2011’s +.

“I might forget the words cause I’m not quite there, finishing it,” he advised Seacrest when the show host asked him if he had been working on any new covers recently.

Watch the clip below which also has Sheeran speaking about his new tattoos and from whom they are for.

Isn’t his first time covering songs that are from different genres than his own; in the past he covered Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” and Macklemore’s breakout hit, “Thrift Shop.”

thevoice

It’s Tuesday and that means that the season premiere of The Voice flooded onto people’s televisions last night. The reality television show was back in full force with Shakira and Usher back in their big, red spinning chairs taking the place of Christina Aguilera and the now-officially-gone Cee Lo Green.

Like every season, the judges took to the stage to perform and this time, they showed that they could cover each other’s hit songs. Blake Shelton took on Shakira’s hit song, “Whenever, Wherever” while the Colombian singer took on the country boy’s song, “Boys Round Here.” Usher took on Maroon 5’s radio hit “Love Somebody” while the frontman took on the Atlanta singer’s “Without You.”

Watch the video below and tell us what you thought about it.

Eddie Vedder Joins Bruce Springsteen On Stage

brucespringsteen

Bruce Springsteen had a little help opening his show in Melbourne, Australia yesterday evening (February 15). The guest of honor was none other than Pearl Jam frontman, Eddie Vedder. Vedder came on stage to lend vocals to two songs: Springsteen’s “Darkness on the Edge of Town” and a cover of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”

This show is not the first time Vedder has joined forces with Springsteen on stage; the duo have performed together a handful of times including a 2002 gig in Chicago, a few shows in 2004 and most recently in 2012 when they performed at Chicago’s Wrigley Stadium.

Rage Against the Machine guitarist, Tom Morello is also on tour with Springsteen and posted up a picture of the three of them on his Instagram page with the caption, “Vedder/Springsteen/Morello trifecta bask in afterglow of Melbourne #1. Ed slayed Highway To Hell/Darkness On The Edge Of Town.”

Vedder was currently in town on his solo tour in Australia following Pearl Jam’s headlining gig at the annual Big Day Out Festival.

A Panic! at the Disco Musical in the Works?

panic-at-the-disco

If you ever thought that A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out would make a killer musical then you weren’t alone.

Recently, it was revealed that there might be a Panic! at the Disco influenced musical in the works. According to sources, the musical would not only feature songs from their hit debut album, but from all their album (yes, even the unfortunate Vices & Virtue).

The synopsis of the story is the following:

“PANIC! is a rough-edged new musical based on the songs of the American rock band Panic! At The Disco. PANIC! The Musical tells the story of Andi Witko, a naive teenager on the verge of rebellion after meeting bad boy Oliver Murphy. The musical features songs from all four studio albums, including hits such as: “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies,” “Lying is the Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off,” “Ready to Go,” “This Is Gospel,” etc.

PANIC! will be directed by Alexis Acar, with choreography by Evan Lovelace featuring arrangements and musical direction by Brandon Austin and Craig Petrocelli”

At the moment, it seems that no one associated with the band have commented about this potential musical. If it is to go forward then there is a change that we will be hearing more about it in the near future; until then, we just wait.

As for Panic!, they are currently scheduled to perform on FOX’s New Year’s Eve Live with Mario Lopez as the host while Brendon Urie had the honor to perform in honor of Billy Joel the piano man’s hit song, “Big Shot” at The Kennedy Center Honors this past weekend. As for the near future, the band is slated to begin touring in support of their recent release, Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die in the new year.

So tell us, Panic! at the Disco musical? Yay or nay?

prince-purple-rain

Prince is back with a brand new song titled, “‘Ain’t Gonna Miss U When U’re Gone.”

Over the course of the last couple of months, the singer has been releasing a slew of new tracks online through his 3rdeyegirl website. In December 2012, he released the track “Rock And Roll Love Affair” and then followed it up with “Screwdriver.”

Earlier this year, the singer embarked on a North American theater tour which hit cities  such as Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Las Vegas,  San Diego, Anaheim, Denver and Vancouver. And just to prove that he still has the moves, Prince performed not one, but two shows a night at each location.

For now, you can check out the new song below:

All the singer’s newest tracks including, “Screwdriver,” “Live Out Loud” and of course “Ain’t Gonna Miss U When U’re Gone” are all available on his official website for $0.88.

Nine Inch Nails to Release New album

nine-inch-nails-060627

We can’t say that we’re not surprised, but it has been revealed that the boys in Nine Inch Nails are ready to release a brand new album, following the new line-up of the 90s rock band.

The new album which will be released through Columbia Records is so far scheduled to hit stores sometime this year.

“I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately,” Trent Reznor said in a statement. “For the last year, I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great.”

Reznor had told Rolling Stone Magazine last year that he had been working on new material for the group even though they had disbanded in 2009. While that was just the tip of the iceberg, Reznor announced earlier this year that there would be a newly, reformed Nine Inch Nails that would be performing at several festivals this year including Lollapalooza and Outside Lands.

“This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again,” the singer added in the release. “My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place.”

The new Nine Inch Nails line-up includes: Reznor, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, Robin Finck and Ilan Rubin. The new and ‘improved’ line-up will make their world-wide debut on July 26th at the Fuji Rock Festival in Naeba, Japan.
