Snow Patrol Working with…One Direction?

If you think that your eyes might be fooling you as you read the headline then it’s not a joke; Snow Patrol frontman, Gary Lightbody has apparently been writing some songs with One Direction’s Harry Styles for the boy band’s forthcoming new album.

The frontman confirmed in an interview that he has sat down with Styles and the two had been collaborating on new music that he hopes will make it on the group’s third album which is supposed to be release sometime later this year. An inside source did confirm that, “the tracks Harry worked on with Gary are 100 per cent for the new One Direction album – and not a solo album.”

Lightbody revealed in a recent interview with UK paper, The Sun, “we wrote with Harry. It was a lot of fun. He’s a real dude actually. We’ve no idea if those songs will make it yet, though. It’s a long process. It’s great to work with other people — it’s good to flex the muscle.”

While the boy bander might be writing new music on his own with other musicians, it doesn’t mean that One Directioners should start their Facebook petitions to get the band together quite yet. A source close to the band revealed to the paper that the band members like to work alone with writers and that’s what they’re doing with this upcoming album, as well.

“It saves time, which is so precious for a band under their pressures. The tracks Harry worked on with Gary are 100 per cent for the new One Direction album — and not a solo album,” the source continues to explain. Earlier this year, Justin Young from The Vaccines was also confirmed to be helping the band out with a few songs on the album.
