George Harrison might have received a one night show to celebrate his legacy, but Paul McCartney is getting a special album.

It was announced that a new project titled, The Art of McCartney will be released to honor one of the guys who helped shape rock and pop music.

The record will feature classic tracks such as “Maybe I’m Amazed,” “My Love,” “The Long and Winding Road,” “Helter Skleter,” “Live and Let Die,” personal favorite, “Eleanor Rigby” and many more. All tracks that will be featured on the record will include backing by McCartney’s longtime band.

Of course with such a project, it’s only natural to gather a long list of contributors including Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, The Cute, The Who’s Roger Daltrey, Heart, Owl City, Smokey Robinson, The Airbourne Toxic Event, Alice Cooper, and many more

Smokey Robinson to Release New Album

smokey

Smokey Robinson has been away from the music world for a little while, but after appearing on last night’s episode of American Idol as a mentor for Detroit Music Night, the great has announced that he will be releasing a brand new album this Fall.

Robinson says that the album will be a duets album and will feature some of his old tracks such as “My Girl,” “Crusin”” and “The Tears of a Clown.” No more information about the album has not been released like the potential name of it, when exactly it will be released and who will be collaborating with the Motown singer on it.

“Not only do I have a musical history with the guys involved, but a longstanding friendship as well,” Robinson said in a statement about those who will be lending guest vocals on the songs. “I’m looking forward to bringing our talents to the table as we collaborate on this project.”

Robinson’s last album, Time Flies When You’re Having Fun, was released back in 2009.
