Sleeping with Sirens announce ‘How It Feels to Be Lost,’ share new music video

The new era of Sleeping with Sirens is officially here!

After teasing fans earlier this week with cryptic messages and a social media purge, the group has confirmed that it was all in preparation to launch the band’s newest iteration.

On Wednesday (June 19), the Florida-founded act announced the upcoming release of their fifth studio album. Titled How It Feels to Be Lost, the 11-track record is due out Sept. 9 through Sumerian Records.

Pre-orders for How It Feels to Be Lost are now available for purchase on the band’s website. How It Feels to Be Lost is the follow-up to 2017’s Gossip.

To coincide with the new album announcement, the quintet shared the music video for the record’s lead single, “Leave It All Behind.” As teased on Monday, the three-and-a-half-minute clip begins with frontman Kellin Quinn walking the lobby of a hotel or apartment building.

He gets into an elevator and exits on a specific floor before entering a room (room 13 for those of you who are curious). While in the room, he changes from his casual attire to a suit before having a full meltdown in the bathroom. He throws himself out of the room’s window, but never quite reaches the ground.

Instead, he ends up in what looks like an alternate world where the rest of the band is awaiting his arrival. For a portion of the clip, the viewer watches the band perform the song. Suddenly, the video cuts to the five guys with glass boxes around their heads as it fills up with water. As they all begin to panic, the water slowly drains. When they’re released from their constraints, they come face-to-face with a burning world in front of them

Is this meant to be a metaphor for the band shedding their former sound/selves? Probably.

Watch the music video for “Leave It All Behind” above.

In conjunction with the new album announcement, Quinn conducted an interview with Loudwire where he spoke about the making of the album and how the group almost went on hiatus. He even reveals how the band’s massive success with Gossip had him feeling like a fraud, not believing a single word he sang, and how he would drink to numb his feeling of insecurity. Read the full Loudwire interview here.

Sleeping with Sirens will join the Used, Sum 41, Thrice, Circa Survive, and more on the inaugural Disrupt Festival. The tour begins later this week at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas. The full tour itinerary can be found here.

Sleeping with Sirens continue to tease fans with cryptic hints on social media

Okay Sleeping with Sirens, we get the message. Fans have something big heading their way later this week, and you don’t want to share. At least not yet.

On Monday (June 17), the Florida-founded band started the week by dropping a cryptic video on social media sending fans into a frenzy of speculations.

The 18-second clip begins with frontman Kellin Quinn, sporting platinum locks, walking in the lobby of a building. He looks like a man on a mission as he heads to an unknown area. Along the way, the viewer watches as he looks from side to side as if he were waiting for something to attack him.

He enters an elevator that takes him to a level where all the other members of the band, instruments in hand, are waiting for his arrival. Just as it seems like the group is about to start playing a song, the clip cuts to a screen with the text “June 19” on it.

Quinn’s mission to get to his bandmates is soundtracked by an electronic-styled song which is cut off just as drummer Gabe Barham is about to hit his drum kit. Is this the lead single off the band’s forthcoming studio effort?

If we’re going to take bets, we’re going to go with yes. Watch the clip below.

The video comes hot on the heels of the band wiping their Instagram accounts clean. All five members seem to be on the same page as all images on their personal accounts were also erased.

Is this the beginning of their new era? If what Quinn said in a tweet last month holds true, we’re definitely putting our money on it.

The timing of all these cryptic hints couldn’t be any better for the quintet. Later this week, they will embark on the inaugural Disrupt Festival. Sleeping with Sirens joins The Used, Sum 41, Thrice, Circa Survive, and more on the upcoming tour. The full list of dates can be found here.

Sleeping with Sirens’ last studio album was 2017’s Gossip.

Sleeping with Sirens to unleash holiday-themed single

‘Tis the season to be jolly and Sleeping with Sirens is making sure their fans are super jolly this season. On Monday (Nov. 13), the Florida-founded band announced plans to release a brand new, holiday-themed song. According to the band, the new track will be titled “Christmas on the Road” and will debut this Friday, Nov. 17.

Taking to their official Twitter page, the band wrote: “We’re ringing in the holidays with new music! ‘Christmas on the Road’ is coming Friday, November 17.”

“Christmas on the Road” will be the band’s first new song since the release of their fifth studio album earlier this year. Back in September, the five-piece released their new studio album, Gossip. Gossip marked the band’s first studio album to be released through their new record label Warner Bros Records; the band was previously signed to Epitaph Records. The album went on to reach the number 38 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

Around the same time Sleeping with Sirens announced the release of Gossip, they had also revealed that the album’s lead single, “Legends,” would be used as Team USA’s official anthem for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

In support of Gossip‘s release, the band has been on the road touring behind the new tunes. Currently, the band is in the middle of their European tour. Once that excursion wraps up in late November, the group will return to the United States for a short tour in December. As if the new song and upcoming album wasn’t enough, Sleeping with Sirens and their fans were given cool news when the US Olympic team announced that the new track will be the team’s official song for their road to the 2018 Winter Olympics. “#TeamUSA is proud to announce LEGENDS by Sleeping with Sirens [@SWStheband] as the OFFICIAL song on the road to the 2018 #WinterOlympics” reads the post on the team’s official Twitter page.

“It’s definitely going to be focused on us re-branding and thinking about our music in terms of what we really want to do with it,” explained Quinn at the time. “I think when you’re making music and you’re expected to do certain things with your band, you kinda lose your touch and your focus.
