Watch Fall Out Boy Participate in a Drum-Off

image

Fall Out Boy has just begun their “MONUMENTOUR” Summer tour with Paramore and New Politics this past week, and we have already begun to get some cool videos from it.

Yesterday, video surfaced of FOB covering Queen’s iconic song, “We Are the Champions” and today, video was released of frontman Patrick Stump and drummer Andy Hurley having a major drum-off to the tunes of, get this, Slayer AND Jay-Z.

Quickly, it seems like these kind of drum-offs will be a major staple of Fall Out Boy’s set during this tour, because video of them doing similar antics during their stop in Mansfield, MA and Hartford, CT has already made its way onto the internet.

Check out the video below and if you haven’t already gotten tickets to an upcoming date of the “MONUMENTOUR,” you might want to reconsider that.

The Denver edition of the festival which will take place at May Farm in Byers, CO during the weekend of September 19-21 will also feature some of the same artists as the Chicago version, but not as extensive as the parent festival.

As for Toronto, The National, City and Colour, Rise Against and Billy Talent had already been confirmed, but now the full line-up for that show which will take place at Downsview Park on September 6 and 7 including a last-minute addition of The Cure to the list.

Slayer Reveal Official Cause of Death of Jeff Hanneman

640_jeff_hanneman_130502

A week after Slayer guitarist, Jeff Hanneman, passed away an official cause has been revealed by the band.

At the beginning, it was thought that the root of Hanneman’s death was due to liver failure and some people even started to believe that it was due to the necrotizing fasciitis infection.

Read the band’s full statement about the cause of death below:

“We’ve just learned that the official cause of Jeff’s death was alcohol-related cirrhosis. While he had his health struggles over the years, including the recent necrotizing fasciitis infection that devastated his well-being, Jeff and those close to him were not aware of the true extent of his liver condition until the last days of his life. Contrary to some reports, Jeff was not on a transplant list at the time of his passing, or at any time prior to that. In fact, by all accounts, it appeared that he had been improving – he was excited and looking forward to working on a new record.”

Slayer Guitarist Dies of Liver Failure

Today marks a sad day for the world of metal.

Slayer guitarist and founding member of the iconic band, Jeff Hanneman passed away at the age of 49 due to liver failure. On their website, the band posted the following message to fans about the passing of Hanneman:

“Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away at about 11AM this morning near his Southern California home. Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed.

Our Brother Jeff Hanneman, May He Rest In Peace (1964 – 2013)”

Hanneman’s death comes after a long ordeal that was brought on by a spider bite. Yesterday, the band posted on their site a little bit of information about Hanneman’s situation:

“It’s been about a year since he got out of the hospital, and since then, he had to learn to walk again, he’s had several painful skin grafts, he’s been in rehab doing exercises to regain the strength in his arm,” the statement said.

The letter also revealed that even though Hanneman was looking forward to rejoining the band soon, he had also told them that “he need [ed] to take more time to continue his rehab.”
