Thrice’s big reunion is supposed to take place this upcoming weekend, but the band decided to give fans from their home state of California a little something just in case they couldn’t make it all the way to New Jersey.

Like several of the bands that will be “reuniting” at Skate and Surf Festival, Thrice decided to treat fans to a pre-Skate and Surf show/warm-up gig at the House of Blues Anaheim.

Thanks to audience members who were at the show that we’re pretty sure was sold out, we’ve gotten video footage of the band performing together for their followers following a three-year hiatus. The complete set list for the evening was also upload and can be seen after the videos.

From Autumn to Ashes had announced plans to go on an indefinite hiatus back in 2008 right before releasing their last release, Live at Looney Tunes. Now, it looks like their return will be permanent and even have a pre-Skate and Surf Fest show scheduled for May 15 at Revolution Music Hall in Amityville.

If you plan on going to that show, we might advise that you check to see if there are any tickets available because the place has a maximum capacity of like 250 people and they went on sale back in March.

Skate and Surf Festival Unveil First Batch of 2015 Performers

Skate and Surf Festival 2015 - Asbury Park, NJ - May 16th & 17th *RAIN OR SHINE

Skate and Surf Festival organizers had been dropping hints that they would be revealing some of the artists that will be going to New Jersey for the two-day festival in May of 2015. Now, the initial line-up of performers have been unveiled and so far, so good.

Bands such as a newly reunited From Autumn to Ashes, the Dropkick Murphys, Manchester Orchestra, The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, Modern Baseball, Motionless in White, and many more have already been revealed. The full official flyer for the two-day show can be seen below.

Skate & Surf

Once again, Skate and Surf will be returning home to Asbury Park, NJ though last year, they almost weren’t allowed to do so, but as we saw, they were.

Tickets for the festival will officially go on sale tonight at 8 p.m., so we will suggest if you’re digging the line-up so far, go ahead and get them while you can, especially when there are still some acts that have yet to be announced.

Remember, last year we saw the reunion of Midtown and a super special reunion including Anthony Green rejoining Saosin for their performance. Of course, that reunion has led to Green rejoining the band he once fronted for an actual tour.

When Skate and Surf Fest announced that two big surprises would be hitting the festival’s weekend-long event, the feeling was excitement. When they unveiled two big reunions were planned, the excitement double. And when they finally announced that one of the reunions would feature Circa Survive frontman Anthony Green returning to Saosin, the feelings went through the roof.

Last night, the newly reunited band took the stage in Philadelphia marking the first time since Green’s departure (give or take ten years) that the full line-up has been on stage together. Thanks to footage that was recorded by someone at the show, it seems that the band treated fans to some oldies, but also two new tracks.

“Lost Symphonies”:

“Translating the Name”:

“Mookie’s Last Christmas”:

New Song:

“3rd Measurement in C”

“I Can Tell There Was an Accident in Here Earlier”:

Saosin to Head Out on Mini-Tour with Anthony Green

saosin

Fans of Saosin, it looks like the reunion featuring former frontman Anthony Green was not just a one shot deal, because it was announced today that the original line-up will be heading out on a mini-tour.

The news of that the Circa Survive frontman would be returning to his former band broke a few months back when Skate and Surf Festival organizers revealed that Saosin would be performing with Green on vocals. For those wanting to see the original line-up, but couldn’t find a way to get to Asbury Park, NJ for the two-day festival seemed to be out of luck, but their wished just might have been answered.

All morning, there had been a rumors on the internet that the original line-up would be taking to the touring circuit with Green in tow. Green confirmed the mini-tour this afternoon when he posted on his Instagram a four-day tour schedule beginning with Skate and Surf on May 17.

For now, the other three dates on the posted schedule are all taking place in California (one in Pomona, one in Los Angeles and one in San Diego), but where else would you have a mini-tour than in your own home state?

The mini-tour and return of the original line-up comes almost eleven years after the release of their breakout EP, Translating the Name.
