Vans Warped Tour Announces 2016 Route

image

The 2015 Vans Warped Tour may have called it a year a few months back, but now, like promised the people behind the traveling rock show have unveiled their 2016 routing. On Monday (Dec. 14), the complete routing for the 2016 incarnation of the traveling festival was unveiled. In a surprising twist, the schedule for 2016 does not have a single Canadian tour stop unlike past years when Toronto was the sole Canadian stop.

This year also marks the first time the tour will visit Syracuse, NY and also the first time in over a decade that the traveling rock show’s stop in South Florida (West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach, and/or Miami) is not on a Saturday. It’s also interesting to point out how the tour will begin in Texas as opposed to all the other times when it begins and ends in California. In a nutshell, the touring route seems to be a hot mess.

Check out the newly released routing for the 2016 Vans Warped Tour below, though the venues have yet to be announced.

riotfest

After much controversy and issues, Riot Fest Denver is now a go. Considering they had been kicked out of their original location of May Farms in Byers, the festival managed to get a new home in the form of the Sports Authority Field at the Mile High Stadium.

Don’t let the names of the stages confuse you, the festival will still be going on at the  Sports Authority Field at the Mile High Stadium.

Like we lover to say, the city of Byers and Arapahoe County’s lose is Sports Authority Field’s gain.

Check out the full line-up for the Denver edition of the festival which will take place during the weekend of September 19 through September 21.

Riot Fest Toronto Schedule Unveiled

riotfest

September has just begun which means that Riot Fest Toronto is just a couple of days away. With Riot Fest Toronto comes Riot Fest Chicago and Denver and the huge, and highly anticipated line-up.

With Toronto taking place this upcoming weekend, September 6-7, festival organizers have given fans the full schedule for the two days so that they can plan accordingly.

Sadly, there are several overlapping acts on Saturday. If we were able to get on a plane to Toronto we would be upset about the following taking place: Glassjaw vs Circa Survive; Alkaline Trio vs Taking Back Sunday; Brand New vs Rise Against.

Killer.

As for Sunday, the line up seems a little less cluttered; at least in our opinion.

Check out the full line-up below for the first of three tenth anniversary celebration for the punk rock festival. Maybe next year we’ll be able to be there ourselves.

Warped Tour Founder Calls Out Escape the Fate

escapethefate

Escape the Fate might have buried the hatchet with Falling in Reverse, but it seems that the band have waged a new war against someone who they shouldn’t have gone up against; Vans Warped Tour founder, Kevin Lyman.

Last night, the band announced that they would be dropping of their upcoming tour with Chiodos which also meant that they would be backing out of the European edition of the Vans Warped Tour. According to the statement made by the band, which can be read below, the band decided to back out of both tours because frontman, Craig Mabbitt has decided to stay with his girlfriend for the birth of their second child.

“The members of Escape The Fate regret that they will be unable to carry out their touring plans for Europe, including the European run of The Vans Warped Tour UK and dates with Chiodos. Vocalist, Craig Mabbitt’s longtime girlfriend was due to have their second child prior to the band’s European run. She is now overdue and Mabbitt can not travel, as he needs to be home, by her side for the birth. The band sends their sincerest apologies to The Warped Tour, Chiodos and especially their European fan contingent and hopes to get to Europe in 2014 to the cities they are missing.”

Of course, Lyman spoke out about the last-minute departure of the band and decided to take matters into his own hands by calling out Escape the Fate on Twitter giving them a public ultimatum to come clean about the reasoning behind leaving, or that he would reveal all.

A few of Lyman’s tweets and responses to others below.

“@escapethefate pulling out of the Europe shows has nothing to do with having a baby, tell the truth it will set U free. Shame on u 4 lying.”

Since the news surface, Lyman has taken down the post from his social media account, but this morning he wrote the following about the situation. He also elaborated that the band had only given him a 3 day warning letting him know that they would have to pull out of the tour.
wt
Now the question is, why did Escape the Fate decided to leave the European Vans Warped Tour? Do you believe them and their excuse that Mabbitt decided to stay with his girlfriend?

Say Anything Dropping Off Riot Fest

Say-Anything-band-j16

For fans of Say Anything that had been anticipating seeing the band perform at this year’s Riot Fest in Chicago got sad news earlier today when it was announced that the band had dropped off the line-up. The reason being given at the time was that due to medical concerns.

Before anyone starts to think that it might have to do with frontman, Max Bemis, the medical concern is actually for an unnamed member of the band (anyone want to take any guesses, no sarcasm this time, guys).

Bemis released the following message to fans about missing the show:

Hey y’all, with one of our members dealing with some pressing and unavoidable medical issues, we regretfully have to pull out of Riot Fest. Suffice to say we are bummed. Our sincere apologies to anyone hoping to see us. Meanwhile, you guys enjoy the great line up at Riot this year and we promise to make it up when we tour our new record in 2014.

Love,
Max

Just yesterday, Riot Fest had posted up the complete set times for the weekend-long show. Wonder who’s going to be filling the band’s slot due to the absence. Any guesses (again, no sarcasm)?

Lollapalooza Live Cast Schedule

lolla

If you couldn’t make it to this year’s Lollapalooza then don’t sweat it because festival organizers will be live-casting several sets just for those who couldn’t make it to the annual festival. With performers such as the newly revamped Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, The Cure and many more, it’s comes as no surprise that tickets for the three-day festival are sold out.

While the list of the bands who’s set will be live-cast is small compared to the long list of performers in total, at least viewers won’t have to complain over the fact that there will be a lot of conflicting set times (some really good bands are performing at the same time in case you haven’t already seen).

Lollapalooza starts this Friday, August 2 and goes all the way through until Sunday at Chicago’s Grant Park. The webcast will be hosted through the festival’s YouTube page which you can check out here. For the full schedule of those getting the webcast treatment, take a peek at the list below.
