‘Billboard’ “Sources” Claim Fun. are Over; Fans and Band Beg to Differ

Are fun. on the verge of calling it quits?

If you read Billboard’s latest story about the band, then you might be led to believe that the answer is “yes.”
According to the music publication, they had been attempting to get an update on the status of the band, but have not been able to do so.

Instead, the band had taken to Facebook to once again clarify their status that no, they are not done.

Though in Billboard’s words, this post seems to be “out of the blue” we need to remember it seems like every time one of the members are out promoting something, they are constantly being asked the status of the band rather than the new endeavors they are working on.

Billboard has cited several “sources” as the root of the break up rumors with those so-called sources saying that the break up happened due to “clash of egos.”

Billboard has also pointed out that the last time all three members were seen together was back in June when they performed a new song titled, “Harsh Light,”on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Fallon and company were at Universal Studios Orlando for the grand opening of the new addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Fans were quick to point out the last time they performed together was not in Orlando on the Tonight Show, but rather at the Global Citizen Festival in September alongside Jay-Z, Carrie Underwood, No Doubt and several others.

Another fan also pointed out that Jack Antonoff and Andrew Dost spent New Year’s Eve together, so any claim there’s a clash of ego there, might not be completely true.

Considering lack of research and checking on Google from the writer’s side, this round goes to fun.

We’re just going to keep imagining that in each member’s downtime, they are coming up ideas for the follow-up to Some Nights.

All Time Low and Man Overboard to Tour Together?

Well guys, it looks like All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth just finished, discreetly, revealing that the rumors of All Time Low, Man Overboard, and Handguns going out on tour are in fact true. Take a gander at it here:

Could another tour featuring two more pop-punk bands be on the horizon? If the evidence is true, then the answer might just be yes.

Rumors started to circulate that All Time Low might be heading out on tour with Man Overboard sometime this year. When the rumor had originally started, there was no evidence to prove that it was in fact true; all we had were the high hopes and wishes on behalf of both groups of fans.

According PopPunkWorld, Ticketfly had posted an Arizona tour date which featured not only All Time Low and Man Overboard, but Handguns too, giving those hoping for this tour, some kind of verification . While the page was quickly removed from Ticketfly (we tried to look for it to no avail), the music news site was able to quickly grab a screenshot of the webpage as proof.

Screenshot can be seen here:

As per the screenshot, tickets are scheduled to go on sale starting on January 24, so we might have to wait until then to get some answers. Since All Time Low currently has nothing scheduled past their European tour which ends on March 21, it seems like it can be highly likely.

Selena Gomez Battling Lupus?

Selena Gomez might have actually had some real reason to cancel her tour just a few weeks before it was supposed to begin in other parts of the world. Reports have surfaced today that the former Disney Channel star suffers from Lupus, an autoimmune disease that attacks the tissues and organs which leaves the person tired, depressed and achy.

When Gomez had initially announced that the upcoming Asian and Australian legs of her Star Dance Tour had been cancelled, many outlets started to speculate what would be the reason behind the sudden cancellation. Some reports were claiming that it had something to do with her former beau, Justin Bieber and others had begun to claim that she was heading into rehab for some unknown reasons.

In the end, Gomez’s people and LiveNation had announced that the real reason behind her sudden cancellation was that she needed a break from her non-stop touring schedule; just a little bit of “me” time.

While several gossip site are claiming that these rumors are in fact true, Gomez nor her representatives have confirmed if the Lupus stories are actually true. A supposed “close friend” of the singer’s “confirmed” that she in fact does have the disease and as to why she had chosen to keep it a secret from her fans.

“Selena will not be happy that this is out there, she really wanted to keep this to herself,” the source said exclusively to HollywoodLife.com. “She doesn’t want it to effect people’s opinions of her and what she’s capable of. This is her own personal business and she wants to keep it that way.”

“She is embarrassed by it,” the source continued. “But her family and friends always tell her that they love her just the same.”

In the end, if the Lupus rumor does in fact end up being confirmed by her people, there would be no reason for the singer to be embarrassed by her health. She stood by her friend Demi Lovato when she was in rehab for a year and even had called out people on Instagram who bully others; we’re pretty sure her fans would stick it out with her.

What do you guys think, in the event that it is true?

Lance Bass Addresses the Reunion Rumor

Well, just when the internet was turned on its head over rumors that *NSYNC would be reuniting for a one-off performance at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday, Lance Bass comes out of nowhere and sparks some confusion on nostalgic fans.

Bass, who, surprised has his own radio show on SiriusFM, took to the airwaves to address the major news/rumor of the day. What somehow got lost in translation is that not once did Bass admit or deny that the reunion was going to happen. This of course sparked fans to wonder if this was just a stunt to get people to tune into the network’s show. The way Bass was addressing the rumor, it looked like the rumors were heading more towards a thumbs down.

Read an except of Bass’ address:

I have to address the rumors. This morning, I woke up to a lot of rumors flying [around] that the *NSYNC reunion is happening after eleven years at the VMAs this Sunday. Well, let me tell you how this all came about. Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson [Video] Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we’re going to be there performing, but this is exactly how it happened and I knew these rumors were going to fly. We all came down here [to Miami] except for J.C. [Chasez]—J.C. stayed in California, he had to work…Joey [Fatone], Chris [Kirkpatrick] and myself went to go see Justin’s last show with Jay Z at the [Sun Life] Stadium last Friday, and I even took a picture of it, it’s on my Instagram. [it was] really fun and…I think that’s what started the rumor that there’s going to be this big reunion with NSYNC…it’s amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media…[and] how many people are supporting NSYNC. It’s so nice to see because when we ended things [over] ten years ago, there was no social media, there was no Twitter [fan base], but it’s so cute to see how many people are supporting [us] and NSYNC was even trending.

Now that our hopes may be a little squashed, do you think that this is just an expansion of MTV trying to get publicity for the award show or what?

Artists Protesting Florida? Not So Fast

Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z

After the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin ruling two weeks back, many artist have come out of the woodwork to protest the state of Florida over a reason that no one truly knows. Whether it’s the ruling (just for those that are not familiar, Zimmerman was found not guilty) or the actual “Stand Your Ground” law, artist were rumored to be protesting the state (you read right, the state, not just that particular city).

Word got around yesterday through the Huffington Post that artists such as Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, The Rolling Stones and many more would be staying clear from Florida due to the verdict outcome. The Monday after the verdict, Stevie Wonder had come out saying that he would not be entering the state of Florida for anything as a protest. Today, it turns out, many of the representatives are coming to the defense of their performers saying that their clients had never heard of or been contacted about the list.

American Urban Radio Network’s White House correspondent April Ryan first reported the list, claiming that she had gotten the information from credible  “sources close to the Stevie Wonder camp.” The Huffington Post had said that they were at the time trying to contact the artists’ representatives even though they had posted the list. At the time, the only representative that had gotten back to them was Rihanna’s who revealed that she was not involved. MotherJones got word that The Rolling Stones had not even heard about the campaign.

When doubt started to reach an all time high, Ryan released a statement on her website where she explains that she got a ext in the middle of the night from someone who were “in support of Stevie.” Her statement could be seen below:

I obtained from multiple sources early Monday a list of artists and entertainers who my sources told me had committed to a boycott of Florida following the George Zimmerman acquittal. Since publishing that list I have heard from several representatives of the artists named who say, on behalf of their clients, they are uncomfortable being identified on that list and are seeking additional information.

Additional representatives have come out to debunk that their clients, who were on the list, were even aware that their names had been put on the list of protesters, which begs the question, if Ryan didn’t put this list together then who did?

Supposedly protests not only those mentioned above, but also

Eminem NOT Stabbed in New York

Have you heard the one where Eminem gets stabbed in New York? Well, we’re sorry to tell you that this was all hear-say at its worse because the supposed ‘news’ is not true.

Earlier today, a bogus Facebook post was making the rounds with a picture of a man with a knife in his back and a caption that read, “Rapper Eminem left nearly DEAD after being stabbed 4 times in NYC!”

To the surprise of no one, the picture was not of Slim Shady and once you clicked it, you were in for a world of spam. The post also claims that there was surveillance footage of the stabbing which once it was clicked on, survey scams, info phishing and pleas for resharing would grace your screen.

A publicist for Interscope sent out a message via email saying the following, “These happen all the time. He’s fine.” But the sad part is that it isn’t the first time Eminem’s name has been used in these types of social media scams; it has happened at least two times before.

Eminem is currently working on a new album which was rumored to be coming out sometime this year after his merchandise website let the cat out of the bag when they included 2013 as one of the years of the rappers “landmark albums.”
