Slipknot, Guns N’ Roses, Disturbed lead Louder Than Life 2019 lineup

Louderthanlife_2019_header

Slipknot, Guns N’ Roses, and Disturbed are just some of the bands who will make their way to Kentucky in late September for the 2019 edition of Louder than Life. On Monday (April 8), Danny Wimmer Presents, the production company behind some of the country’s biggest music festivals, unveiled the full lineup for this year’s event.

Joining Slipknot, Guns N’ Roses, and Disturbed on this year’s roster are Godsmack, Ice Cube, A Day to Remember, Rob Zombie, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Halestorm, Marilyn Manson, Staind, and more.

This year’s Louder than Life will be Guns N’ Roses’ first performance in 2019 as well as Staind’s first public performance in five years.

“We wouldn’t be living up to the name Louder than Life if we didn’t come back bigger and badder than ever, giving fans something they can’t see anywhere else,” festival producer Danny Wimmer said in a press statement.

“Getting Staind back together and plugged in on the main stage is something that I’ve been working on for years. These are songs that need to be heard, that fans have been dying to hear — Staind has been one of the most requested bands on our socials, and it’s an honor to be bringing their music back for the fans at Louder than Life.”

He continues: “Slipknot has always had some of the most loyal, rabid fans in rock, but now they are at that pivotal moment when they’ve crossed over into iconic status; Disturbed has had their best touring numbers to date this year; then top it off with one of the biggest rock bands of all time in Guns N’ Roses…this year is our most massive lineup yet.”

In total, over 50 bands will take over one of three stages during the three-day event.

In addition to the rocking lineup of acts, attendees will also get to enjoy award-winning bourbons, whiskey, spirits, craft beer, and “the best food Louisville has to offer.”

Tickets for Louder than Life are currently available on the festival’s website. As usual, they will be offering single-day passes, three-day passes, VIP packages as well as hotel and camping passes.

For fans attending Louder than Life’s sister festivals Hometown Rising Country Music & Bourbon Festival (Sept. 14 – 15) and Bourbon & Beyond (Sept. 20 – 22),  a special Trifesta pass is available for purchase. The Trifesta pass includes general admission into all three music festivals.

Louder than Life will make its grand debut at its new home of Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center in Louisville during the weekend of Sept. 27-29.

Riot Fest Chicago and Denver lineups announced

image

The Riot Fest Twitter account is probably one of the funniest to read with the way they troll people who are always complaining about the lineup of the three incarnations. On Wednesday (May 18), festival organizers shut up the hater when they unveiled the first wave of bands for both the Chicago and Denver shows. Earlier this month, news broke that the original lineup of The Misfits would reunite, and perform, at Riot Fest Chicago. Now, it’s been confirmed that they will not only perform at both Chicago and Denver dates, but that they will be in good company.

Riot Fest Chicago will feature a slew of artists including: Morrissey; Ween; Social Distortion, who will be performing 1996’s White Light, White Heat, White Trash in full; Rob Zombie, who will be performing White Zombie’s final album, Astro-Creep: 2000; Death Cab For Cutie; Brand New; NAS; Deftones; Refused; Death Grips; the Descendents; The Specials; Chevy Metal aka Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins’ side-project; and Girls Against Boys.

But those are not all the groups making their way to Chi-town in mid-September. Acts like NOFX, Bad Religion, The Hives, Leftover Crack, Smoking Popes, Pepper, Big D & The Kids Table will also play Riot Fest Chicago. While Riot Fest has been boosting the Misfits reunion, the 2016 incarnation will feature other groups reuniting. Thursday will continue their handful of reunion shows, while Underoath announced earlier this year that they had reunited and would be releasing new music soon. The Daryl Palumbo-fronted Glassjaw reunited earlier this year to head out on tour with Coheed & Cambria and will now be heading to Chicago to continue. Set Your Goals and the Anniversary are also set to reunited during the weekend-long event. While some bands are making their grand return at Riot Fest, this marks the end of Motion City Soundtrack who revealed that they will head on one final tour before calling it a day later this year.

Like Chicago, Denver will feature a lot of the same bands like The Misfits, Ween, and Death Cab For Cutie. Unlike the original Riot Fest location, Denver will feature exclusive  performances from Sleater-Kinney, Jane’s Addiction who will perform Ritual De Lo Habitual, Wolf Parade, and Tyler the Creator.

As of now, festival organizers have confirmed that this is the first wave of acts, with many more to be announced soon. The complete list of performers for Both Riot Fest Chicago and Denver can be seen below.

Festival organizers previously confirmed that a slew of artists including the newly reunited At the Drive-In, Rob Zombie, A Day to Remember, Bring Me the Horizon, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lamb of God, Disturbed, and more would be making their way to the MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, OH in late May. Now, festival organizers have unveiled another huge band heading to the three-day music festival.

On Monday (Feb. 8), Rock on the Range organizers revealed that the Deftones have been added to their list. The California band recently revealed that their new album, Gore, would be released on April 8, a little over a month before they take the stage at Rock on the Range. “Rock On The Range has always been a show we enjoy playing, and to be a part of the tenth year is particularly exciting for us, especially with a new album in tow. See you all in May,” Deftones frontman Chino Moreno said.

In addition to the Deftones joining the lineup, it was also revealed that on Saturday (May 21), Rock on the Range will include a live version of VH1 Classic’s program, That Metal Show. The live show will feature interviews with various bands on the lineup, a “Stump The Trunk” segment, and That Metal Show commentary by hosts Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson, and Jim Florentine.

Rocklahoma Unveil 2016 Lineup

The unveiling for the “World’s Loudest Month” festival series continues. On Monday (Jan. 11), the lineup for the Oklahoma-based music festival, Rocklahoma, was announced. Like its companion festivals, Jacksonville’s Welcome to Rockville and Ft. Myers’ Fort Rock, the weekend-long event will feature performances from acts like Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine, 3 Doors Down, SIXX: AM, and many more. The 2016 incarnation of the festival marks the event’s tenth anniversary which means it’s going to be something special, at least according to those behind the annual event.

“Celebrating the ten-year anniversary of Rocklahoma is something that is incredibly special for all of us involved with the festival, and we tried to have something for everyone with this year’s lineup,” explains Joe Litvag, Executive Producer of Rocklahoma for AEG Live. “We’ve got some incredible first-timers like Scorpions, Disturbed, Last In Line, and Collective Soul. Some fan favorites returning like Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, and Steel Panther, and as a nod to the inaugural festival in 2007, we even have a few from that first Rocklahoma with Sebastian Bach, Great White, and Bang Tango. It’s going to be an unforgettable anniversary party!”

The three-day festival will invade Pryor, OK during Memorial Weekend, so expect a lot of partying. As always, the festival will include the option to camp at the grounds which comes with perks like the campground stage hosting performances during the Thursday night campground party as well as parties in the afternoon and late night hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
