Mayday Parade ask for a ‘Piece of Your Heart’ in new song, announce new album

Last month, Mayday Parade announced they had left their longtime home of Fearless Records for Rise Record where they would release their sixth studio album. Now, it looks like that brand new album may be in the hands of fans sooner rather than later. On Thursday (May 3), the Florida-founded band formally announced the title and release date for their impending new album.

Titled Sunnyland, the new album will be released on June 15 via Rise Records. Taking to social media, the band confirmed the name and release date for the 13-track album as well as debuted the music video for its first single.

“We’re happy to finally announce our first single ‘Piece of Your Heart’ off of our upcoming album Sunnyland, out June 15 on Rise Records!,” the group posted on all their social media platforms. Watch the emotional video for “Piece of Your Heart” above.

Mayday Parade sign to Rise Records, tease new music

It’s been a while since fans have heard anything from the Mayday Parade camp. Last year, they embarked on their A Lesson in Romantics tenth anniversary tour, but since then, things have been quiet. On Tuesday (April 10), things changed when the Florida-founded band took to social media to announce some major news. Taking to Twitter, the band unveiled that they had left their longtime record label home of Fearless Records for Rise Records.

The five-piece will now join bands like Issue, Dance Gavin Dance, blessthefall, Sleeping with Sirens, Of Mice and Men, and more on the Oregon-based record label’s roster.

In an Instagram post, the band posted a cryptic teaser, leading fans to speculate what it meant. The short, 30-second clip finds the band in what appears to be some creepy wooded area. Each member has their moment in front of the camera as it zooms in on them. Before the shot can get a full close-up, it goes to an error/static screen and a new member appears. The same thing repeats with only the band member changing. The clip ends with the number six appearing behind the static followed by Rise Record’s logo. Watch Mayday Parade’s cryptic clip here.

“We are very happy to be teamed up with Rise Records for the release of our 6th full length album,” begins a note from frontman Derek Sanders about joining forces with Rise Records.

“Rise has done a fantastic job with their projects and it’s clear that they are passionate about the music they help put out into the world. We appreciate the fact that they believe in our band still after all these years and we are so excited for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on. Thank you all!”

Mayday Parade’s still-in-the-works sixth studio album will be the follow-up to the group’s 2015 release, Black Lines.

Man Overboard Show Us the Ugly World with “Cliffhanger”

Man Overboard’s new album is set to be released at the end of the month and now the New Jersey-based band have released the music video for another new track off the impending record.

The music video is for the fifth song to be released from Heavy Love, “Cliffhanger.”

The video takes the viewer on a front row look, via  television screen, at all the craziness that is going on around us which most likely has a huge influence on us at the end of the day. Images include fights at hockey games, crazy weather in parts of the country, images from battlefields across the world, stupid reality television programs, and much more that you might need to watch the video a couple of times.

Fuse were the first to premiere the video and got the opportunity to ask guitarist Wayne Wildrick about it.

“What this video is trying to show are the variables out of our control that our jammed down our throats every second of the day that affects the way we perceive and gauge our own success,” explains Wildrick.

“It’s always hard to find yourself between extreme social and political gaps. Punk rock always brought the outside world to the listener’s attention, and it seems that has been lost lately and the focus is more on inner struggle. We believe most of that inner struggle comes from mental oppression, which we portray in the video. We hope you make the connection. And if you don’t that’s okay too. Just bang your head and enjoy the music.”

Watch the video below.

“Cliffhanger” joins previously released tracks “She’s in Pictures,” “Splinter,” “Now That You’re Home,” and “Borderline” on Heavy Love which is due out on June 30 through Rise Records.

Don’t forget to catch Man Overboard this Summer on the Vans Warped Tour.

Man Overboard Announce ‘Heavy Love’

image

Last October, Man Overboard released their Passing Ends EP and quickly revealed they would be heading back into the studio to record a new full-length album.

Now, the time has come and the band have revealed that not only is that new album finished, but that it will be heading our way this Summer.

The New Jersey-based band announced the news in a three-minute clip in which they also revealed the names of the songs through an old-school, tabletop jukebox. As the (iconic) clip plays, the song playing in the background is one of the new tracks off the record; a song titled “She’s in Pictures.”

Check out the announcement for Heavy Love below.

Heavy Love is set to be released on June 30 through Rise Records. This marks the band’s full-length follow-up to 2013’s Heart Attack.

Earlier this year, the “save pop-punk” group teamed up with Senses Fail to released a split with each band covering a track from the other’s discography.

The Devil Wears Prada Officially Rejoin Rise Records

image

It’s official, The Devil Wears Prada have rejoined Rise Records.

Last week, the record label (as well as the band) had released a cryptic video that gave no information at all, just the band and label’s logos side by side after some video from space.

Quickly after the video was released, publications and fans alike began to claim that the band had returned to their roots for their new record.

Today, the rumors were confirmed with The Devil Wears Prada frontman, Mike Hranica, releasing a statement on the matter.

“We’re all very confident in working with Rise again,” begins Hrancia.

“The label has grown tremendously since our first release back in 2006, nonetheless we know their intention is still the same as ever and we know it’s a model that will compliment us well. We’re persistently hands-on and love to do exactly as we please, and they’re a great place for us to be able to continue that path while supporting our visions. Rise can be commended, deservedly, for their wholehearted drive at releasing albums they believe in; and it’s that enthusiasm that is both welcoming and exciting for our band moving forward.”

As for the video that was release online last week that started the talks of a reconcile? Turns out, the band are working on a conceptual album titled what else, Space which is set to be released sometime in the Summer. No official release date has been given.

If the reunion with Rise and the announcement of a new album wasn’t enough, the Ohio band just kicked off a double leg, headlining this past Sunday (March 15). Full dates, including the recently added second leg, for that can be seen below.

Silverstein Announce Release Date for ‘I Am Alive in Everything I Touch’

Silverstein are in the final stretch of their “Discovering the Waterfront Tenth Anniversary tour” and with the North American portion of the celebration coming to a close, the Canadian band have revealed the release date for their new album.

I Am Alive in Everything I Touch, their eighth studio album, will officially be released on May 19 through Rise Records. Before the band took to their social media accounts to reveal this information, they announced the release date during their show in Ft. Lauderdale (also known as our hometown show).

During the show, the band performed a new song titled “A Midwestern State of Emergency” followed by the announcement that the new record had not only been completed, but it would be released in mid-May.

As if that  wasn’t enough, the band also revealed that the “Discovering the Waterfront Tenth Anniversary Tour” will be making the trek to Australia in May to give their fans “Down Under” the chance to celebrate the anniversary of the band’s sophomore album.
