On Monday (March 11), Reel Big Fish and Bowling for Soup announced plans to embark on a massive tour later this year. The co-headlining excursion will find the two bands performing at venues across the United States during the summer months.
The 19-stop outing will include shows in Orlando, Atlanta, Silver Springs, Portland, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and more during the months of June, July, and August. The newly announced tour will begin on June 19 at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale and conclude a month and a half later on Aug. 3 at the Ogden Theatre in Denver.
In a surprising twist, this is the first time the two bands have ever toured together.
“There are those bands with which the fans tell you ‘you should tour with them.’ Often times, you make friends with those bands, and you always say to one another, ‘we GOTTA tour together,’” Bowling for Soup vocalist/guitarist Jaret Reddick said in a press statement.
“Well, both those things have been happening for years, and this summer, while on the final cross-country Vans Warped Tour, Aaron from Reel Big Fish and I decided we were going to make it happen! And we did! I could NOT be more excited for this summer! Two of the most fun bands on the planet together at last! People will have sore faces from smiling after this one!”
“We’re still doing that tour? I thought I pulled the plug on that terrible idea a long time ago!” Reel Big Fish frontman Aaron Barrett adds.
Nerf Herder and MEST were announced as the supporting acts for the upcoming tour. Nerf Herder will open during the first half of the trip while MEST will take over the role during the second half.
Bowling for Soup is offering VIP packages for this upcoming, co-headlining jaunt. The package includes a show ticket, priority entry to the gig, an acoustic performance by Reddick and bassist Rob Felicetti, a meet-and-greet session with photo, and an exclusive autographed poster.
VIP packages go on sale this Tuesday, March 12, at 10 a.m. local time on Bowling for Soup’s website.
General ticket sales begin this Friday, March 15, at 10 a.m. local time on both band’s websites.
Bowling for Soup’s last studio album was 2016’s Drunk Dynasty, though they did recently release a live album/DVD titled Older, Fatter, Still the Greatest Ever: Live From Brixton.
As for their co-headliners Reel Big Fish, the group recently released their ninth studio album, Life Sucks… Let’s Dance!

What’s more fun than getting all your friends together to spend 12 hours in the heat as you watch some of your favorite bands perform 30 minute sets? How about doing the same exact thing, except on a boat in the middle of the ocean during the week of Halloween? On Wednesday (Dec. 7), Vans Warped Tour head-honcho Kevin Lyman announced the inaugural Warped Rewind at Sea cruise.
As the name implies, Warped Rewind at Sea takes all the things Warped Tour attendees love about the “punk-rock summer camp” and places them on a cruise ship. The event will be a “special experience for 2,300 Warped fans” which will include personal interactions with some of their favorite musicians.
The cruise, which will take place during the week of Oct. 28, 2017-Nov. 1, 2017 will include a four-night round-trip cruise from New Orleans to Cozumel, Mexico. During the four nights, the passengers will be treated to multiple performances by 3OH!3, Bowling for Soup, Cartel, Good Charlotte, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Simple Plan, the Starting Line, and more to be announced at a later date.
The excursion will also feature DJs and comedians, much like Warped Tour on land, as well as a Q&A session with Lyman, activities and autograph sessions with the artists, “Emo Nite” parties, and more.
“Packing as much fun into a ship as we do into a parking lot seemed like a great challenge, and Sixthman has given us that opportunity,” said Lyman in a press release. “We are excited to finally bring Warped Tour to the sea and we hope you can join us.”
Tickets for Warped Rewind at Sea are currently available on the event’s website here. Watch the official announcement video below as you start planning how to shove all your black clothes and eyeliner into one huge luggage (spoiler: it’s hard).
If you were ever referred to as a scallywag as a kid, and loved it, there might be a way for you to continue to be one as an adult. On Monday (Aug. 29), Synergy Global Energy, Brew Ha Ha Productions, and radio stations 91X and KFM-BFM announced the first ever Ye Scallywag! festival. The one-day, California-based event will feature performances by NOFX, Against Me!, and Bad Religion while also giving attendees a large array of craft beer, wine, and food.
“Scallywag! will be unlike any legitimate craft beer or wine event ever produced,” explains Ye Scallywag! co-producer Cameron Collins of Brew Ha Ha Productions. “We are bringing in some of the most sought after and award-winning breweries in the country as well as some incredible wineries from Paso Robles, the Napa Valley, Central Coast, and beyond all set to the music of artists like Bad Religion. We’ve really got something special here!”
“Ye Scallywag! will be the perfect San Diego event to make one truly grateful for this wondrous California lifestyle,” adds 91X’s Halloran. “The craftiness of the beer, wine, food, and bands will prove that indeed, San Diego has the best. I am looking forward to an amazing day.”
Mirroring their sentiments, Fat Mike of NOFX adds: “When I started NOFX in 1983, I dreamed of being a scallywag one day, at least by the time I was 50. Well, not only am I a scallywag, but I’m also playing the scallywag festival! PS: What’s a scallywag? Is that like being a pirate?”
Ye Scallywag! is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Waterfront Park in San Diego, CA. The event will feature over 100 craft breweries and artisan wineries while the music portion of the event will kick off at noon. All tickets include beer and wine tasting and access to the BMW of Escondido Main Stage for live music.
Pre-sales for the event will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 30 and will end on Thursday, Sept. 1. General ticket sales will then begin on Friday, Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. PST. As noted on the website, the one-day music festival is for those who are 21 and over. For more information about Ye Scallywag!, head on over to their website here.
Watch out America, because the ska bands are taking over! Well, at least for a little while early next year.
Less Than Jake announced earlier in the day plans to hit the road in early next year across the United States. Going along for the ride and as a co-headliner will be Reel Big Fish while Authority Zero will be their special guest.
The tour is scheduled to begin on Jan. 15 in Denver at the Ogden Theater and will wrap up on Feb. 20 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood.
Complete tour date for the month and a half-long trek can be seen below on the official flyer for the gigs.
Less Than Jake just wrapped up a short Canadian tour with Big D and the Kids Table and the Interrupters last week which included a couple of U.S. stops. They also recently announced plans to hit the road with Yellowcard, their 2014 Vans Warped Tour tour mates, across the pond beginning in early March.
Pretty much, LTJ will be hopping from one tour to another. And that’s how you rack up 365 shows on the Warped Tour.
