The reissued vinyls will include: 1996’s Static Prevails; 1999’s Clarity; the album that arguably launched them into the mainstream, 2001’s Bleed American; and 2004’s Futures.

Knuckle Puck Giving Away Complete Discography

image

It’s not even Christmas and the guys from Knuckle Puck are giving their fans a massive gift to be grateful for.

The Illinois-based band announced last night on all their social media accounts that they would be giving away their complete discography for free on Bandcamp.

The catch? The deadline.

For those interested in obtaining all the EPs the band have produced since their inception, the files need to be downloaded before Thursday, June 11.

Not too much of a big deal since the weekend is right around the corner.

Check out their announcement directly from Facebook below.

The free music announcement comes a couple of months after the band revealed they had finished recording their full-length debut record. No official release date has been given for the impending album besides that it will be released through Rise Records.

But don’t count on them being lazy and sitting around until the record hits stores. They just wrapped up a tour alongside The Maine, Real Friends, and the Technicolors (“The American Candy Tour”) last month and are slated to begin the two-month summer trek that is the 2015 Vans Warped Tour in a couple of weeks.

Maybe we’ll get a title and release date for the new album during Warped?

Prince to Return with Two New Albums

prince-purple-rain

The purple one is making a comeback!

That’s right, Prince has announced that he will be returning to the music world with not one, but two new albums. The albums will be the highly anticipated Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum. Art Official Age will be Prince’s solo album, while Plectrumelectrum will be from his new band, 3RDEYEGIRL.

“Prince is one of just a handful of visionary artists who have truly reshaped and redefined modern music and culture,” said Warner Bros. Records Chairman & CEO Cameron Strang.

“For the past 35 years, he has never stopped evolving, challenging himself, reinventing his sound, and pushing boundaries. In true Prince fashion, he has just given us not one, but two extraordinary albums that express the incredible range and depth of his talent. All of us at WBR are immensely proud to be working with Prince to bring this brilliant new music to his legions of fans around the world, and needless to say we are thrilled to be working in partnership with him again.”
Both record are set to be released on September 30, but don’t expect it to be a joint record; the albums will be sold separately. Currently, both of them are available for pre-orders through digital retailers as well as Prince’s official website.

For those wanting to purchase the records early, the singer has revealed that fans will be able to unlock “instant grat” tracks from each record.

And that’s not even the end of the gift that is Prince. According to sources, the album releases will be marked by a series of “very special events” taking place globally. As of now, there has been no confirmation as to what exactly that means, but a confirmation should be set for soon.

Amber Pacific Launch IndieGoGo Campaign

Amber+Pacific

Following the trend that has become big among fans needing help in funding for a new album, Amber Pacific have jumped on board.

The band Washington-based band revealed over the weekend that they have launched a new crowd funded campaign to help them reach a certain monetary goal to be able to record their fourth album. At the moment, the band are hoping to reach their goal $20,000 in two months.

This album will mark the band’s first record of new tracks since 2010’s Virtues as well as the return of original vocalist, Matt Young. Young had left the band back in 2008.

The official announcement of the IndieGoGo Campaign can be heard below and if you feel like you’re in the giving mood, head on over here and donate to their worthy cause.

A Panic! at the Disco Musical in the Works?

panic-at-the-disco

If you ever thought that A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out would make a killer musical then you weren’t alone.

Recently, it was revealed that there might be a Panic! at the Disco influenced musical in the works. According to sources, the musical would not only feature songs from their hit debut album, but from all their album (yes, even the unfortunate Vices & Virtue).

The synopsis of the story is the following:

“PANIC! is a rough-edged new musical based on the songs of the American rock band Panic! At The Disco. PANIC! The Musical tells the story of Andi Witko, a naive teenager on the verge of rebellion after meeting bad boy Oliver Murphy. The musical features songs from all four studio albums, including hits such as: “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies,” “Lying is the Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off,” “Ready to Go,” “This Is Gospel,” etc.

PANIC! will be directed by Alexis Acar, with choreography by Evan Lovelace featuring arrangements and musical direction by Brandon Austin and Craig Petrocelli”

At the moment, it seems that no one associated with the band have commented about this potential musical. If it is to go forward then there is a change that we will be hearing more about it in the near future; until then, we just wait.

As for Panic!, they are currently scheduled to perform on FOX’s New Year’s Eve Live with Mario Lopez as the host while Brendon Urie had the honor to perform in honor of Billy Joel the piano man’s hit song, “Big Shot” at The Kennedy Center Honors this past weekend. As for the near future, the band is slated to begin touring in support of their recent release, Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die in the new year.

So tell us, Panic! at the Disco musical? Yay or nay?

Beyoncé Breaks Records with New Album

bey

Beyoncé did it!

The multi-talented artist has managed to do what most artists can’t do in record time; sell over 800,000 albums, worldwide, in three days without any publicity.

Like we reported, as well as the rest of the world, Beyoncé dropped a 14-track album on Friday without any warning; it just randomly appeared on iTunes as soon as the clock stroke midnight.

The self-titled album not only became the fastest selling album, but it also broke the U.S. iTunes Store’s record for the largest sales week for an album.

According to industry insiders, Beyoncé sold 617,000 downloads through the close of business on Sunday, Dec. 15.

Of course, it also helped sales that none of the songs featured on the album were available a la carte. Anyone wanting a specific song on the record, would still have to purchase the full album. The album is priced at $15.99, but does feature the new 14-tracks as well as 18 music videos, 14 of which are for the songs on the album and the rest bonus tracks.

The former artist to hold the title that Beyoncé has taken was Taylor Swift when her album, Red was exclusively sold through iTunes a week before it hit other retailers. At the time, Swift sold a total of 465,000 in the week of its debut.

*ED NOTE: The music industry tracks weekly sales on a Monday through Sunday basis, hence why Beyoncé’s feat is being measured after only three days on sale*

Beyoncé’s iTunes launch is also the second-largest digital sales week, in general when dealing with digital sales. The only person standing in the way of Beyoncé coming in at number one was Lady Gaga

When Born This Way was released, it sold a total of 662,000 downloads in its first week. Most of the sales though, could be attributed tot he fact that Amazon decided to sell the album for 99-cents for two days, resulting in the sale of 440,000 copies.

As for Beyoncé, it’s almost a guarantee that she will be at the top of the charts during the upcoming weeks and even more good news is that this album even managed to surpass her previously highest selling album, 2006’s B’Day.

Happy Holidays, Queen Bee, you’ve managed to turn the industry on its head.
