Awful News: Two Men Arrested for Assaulting Woman at Reading and Leeds

readingleeds

What should be one of the most enjoyable weekends across the pond has turned into an awful one for one attendants.

The Guardian is reporting that two people were arrested during yesterday’s installation of Reading and Leeds and not for some petty crime charge like theft or drugs, but for something a lot more serious.

According to British press, a 14-year-old boy from Surrey and a 31-year-old man from London have been arrested on suspicion of raping a young woman and are currently being held by Thames Valley police.

The victim, a 19-year-old woman, reported being attacked Thursday night “in a caravan on the festival trader’s site.” The woman, said she had met the man and the boy earlier in the day near an ice-cream van near a mobile phone charging station in one of the campsite.

But for those attending this year’s event and are a little concerned about things like this being a norm, don’t worry because it appears that the police have things under control, according to Chief Inspector Dave Parker, who spoke directly with The Guardian about this possibly occurring again.

“There is currently a scene watch in place and I would like to reassure those attending the festival that crime levels remain low and crimes of this nature are very rare. Officers are patrolling the site to support on-site security and if anyone has any concerns, please feel free to approach our officers to discuss this.”

On the upside, there have only been 21 (reported) crimes committed since Wednesday; five alleged drug offenses and 13 suspected thefts.

This year’s line up of Reading and Leeds has quite roster with blink-182, Paramore, The Arctic Monkeys, Jimmy Eat World, Queens of the Stone Age, Imagine Dragons, You Me at Six and many (many, many) more.

Queens of the Stone Age Frontman Goes Off on Stage Crasher

Queens.Of.The.Stone.Age

Note to anybody who thinks that it will be a funny and cool thing to storm on stage during a Queens of the Stone Age show; don’t do it.

Someone found that out the hard way the other day when they thought it would cool to storm the stage and frontman Josh Homme was not too please with that. During their show in St. Petersburg, FL a guy crashed the stage and Homme quickly forced the guy back into the crowd.

Video of the slight altercation was taken (and can be seen below) and gave us some gems straight out of Homme’s mouth:  “Don’t do that, because I’ll fucking … I don’t care if you love me. You can stand right there, dude. I don’t know what you’re trying to do. You’re lucky I didn’t fuck you up, bro. I’m here to play for you, not jerk you off, you fucking douchebag” and much more for like two minutes.

The “begins” around the one minute and sixteen second mark.

Trent Reznor Receives Apology From Grammy Producer

Nine Inch Nails

It was probably one of the most anticipated performances of the Grammys,Trent Reznor, Queens of the Stone Age, Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsay Buckingham and Dave Grohl, but apparently that didn’t cross the mind of the people behind the yearly award show.

Instead of replacing one of the other lackluster performances during the three-hour show, the runner decided to end the show with a high by putting the show at the end.

Understandable, keep the best of last and end on a high note, but how they did it is what drove Reznor nuts to the point that he took to Twitter to air his grievance about the decision to cut the performance short and put in all the advertisements for the event in its place.

Reznor tweeted the following about the decision: “Music’s biggest night… to be disrespected. A heartfelt FUCK YOU guys.”

It took three days, by Reznor received an apology from Grammy executive producer, Ken Ehrlich. “I’m sorry he was upset,” Ehrlich told the Hollywood Reporter. “I was really thrilled that we were finally getting him on the Grammys.”

He continued, “The final jam started with Arcade Fire a few years ago, and LL Cool J last year. I want to end on a high, an up note. I did tell them we’d take it as long as we could. The number was about five, six minutes long, and we got to within a minute twenty of the end. We got as close as we could possibly get.”

The 56th Annual Grammys Reveal Closing Performers

QueensQotsa2013

The Grammys are set to take place this Sunday and already, organizers have revealed who will be taking the stage at the annual music award ceremony.

Previously, it was confirmed that Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar, P!nk, Katy Perry, Lorde, and Metallica would all be taking the stage to perform during the live event and now another group of performers had been added to the list.

Today, it was revealed that Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl, and Fleetwood Mac guitarist/singer Lindsey Buckingham will be closing the Grammys with a special performance.

Queens of the Stone Age will be performing at the Grammys in celebrations of their three nominations for Like Clockwork...including nominations in the Best Rock Album, Best Rock Performance and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical categories.

Nine Inch Nails and Dave Grohl were also nominated for awards this year as well. Nine Inch Nails were nominated for Best Alternative Music Album for Hesitation Marks while Dave Grohl is up for two awards for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media for his work on Sound City: Real To Reel.

Talk about a way to end a show.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast Sunday, January 26, at 8p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
