The real Queen Bee might have reclaimed her throne, but that’s not stopping Lorde (real name Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O’Connor) from releasing another new song today.

Last week, the New Zealand songstress unveiled the music video for her newest single, “Team” and now, we have been gifted with another new song titled, “No Better.”

While doing an interview with Billboard, the singer revealed that she has been in the middle of making some new music even though she hasn’t even began to hit the studio yet.

“I’ve been writing but I haven’t really had time to hit the studio as of yet,” she explained to the music outlet. When asked about when she would be returning to the studio to start recording the follow-up to her hit album, Pure Heroine, she replied, “that’ll be the end of this year, or next year,” she says.

But that’s not all, a tour is also in the cards for the 17-year-old musician. “Yes, absolutely. Yeah, we’ve got lots of stuff being planned,” she says about a tour Down Under for early 2014. “We’ll have to wait and see. Those [NZ dates] will be amazing.”

Lorde Releases Video for “Team”

Lorde has been making news recently for speaking out against other musicians overs the last couple of months. First it was about Taylor Swift who later she was seen hanging with one afternoon. Then it was a dig at Selena Gomez about the message in her hit song “Come and Get It,” where the 17-year-old explained that the song was anti-feminist. Just last week, she spoke out against Nicki Minaj and Drake only to backtrack to let the public know that her words were taken out of context.

Amid all the taken out of context quotes, the singer has been working on the music video for the follow-up to her hit radio song, “Royal.” The video is for the song, “Team” which is also featured on her hit debut, Pure Heroine.
“This video was borne from a dream i had a few months ago about teenagers in their own world, a world with hierarchies and initiations, where the boy who was second in command had acne on his face, and so did the girl who was queen.” she explained about the idea behind the video.

“I dreamt about tests that didn’t need to be passed in order to be allowed in: sometimes the person who loses is stronger.”

Granted nobody knew who Lorde was at the beginning of the Summer, but as the dog days came to a close, every Top 40 radio station was playing the 16-year-old’s hit song, “Royals” every hour on the hour.

Today, MTV had been gifted with the chance to let fans of the New Zealand-based singer-songwriter to take a listen to her debut album, Pure Heroine.

In what is an unlikely move for someone who is trying to break into the nitty-gritty world of pop music, the singer to this day has only played a total of ten shows and has does less than a handful of face to face interviews with publications. But things are looking up for her since “Royals” has been able to make it to the number three spot on the Billboard 100 without the help of a music video, publicity or interviews.

Pure Heroine is her first length album scheduled to be released next week. The upcoming album follows her EP, The Love Club, which was actually released earlier this year. For now, enjoy the debut here.
