Katniss Returns Home in New ‘Mockingjay’ Preview

wpid-hunger-games.jpeg

There’s no place like home for Katniss Everdeen and after having to be in both The Hunger Games and the Quarter Quell, it’s only logical that she wants to go home, but President Snow has made that impossible.

Like we witnessed, or at least were told at the end of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Gale Hawthorne, “there is no District 12.”

In the new preview for the upcoming installation of the hit book and film franchise, we are shown what exactly it means to become the Mockingjay when Katniss is taken back home to see the ruins that were once District 12.

If that wasn’t enough of a declaration of war by Snow, then we’re not sure what is, especially with the presence of that vase of dead, white roses with only one rose bud surviving. What’s Snow trying to say with that, huh?

Check out the new preview below which features Lorde’s newest track, “Yellow Flicker Beat” exclusively written for the soundtrack.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I will be released on Nov. 21 while tickets will go on sale beginning Oct. 29.

Fun. Debut New Song on ‘Jimmy Fallon’

image

Not much has been heard from fun. in several months, since their performance at the NCAA March Madness, to be exact, where frontman Nate Ruess revealed they were working on some new material.

Since then, there has been radio silence from the band that a year ago were on a major tour and a continuous staple on top 20 radio. The only known thing was that guitarist, Jack Antonoff had formed a band (not a “side project,” because he hates that term) named Bleachers.

After months of quiet, it was quite a surprise, to say the least, to see the band not only appear on Jimmy Fallon’s late night show last night, which was somewhat live from Universal Studios Orlando’s preview of the expanded Wizarding World of Harry Potter (Hogsmeade), but that they came armed with a new song.

The new track is titled “Harsh Light” and awesomely was filmed in front of Universal’s Rip Ride Rockit, but other than that, no other information was given about it. Maybe the follow-up to Some Nights is on the horizon. Or maybe it’s just something to tide fans over.

Check out the live debut of the new song.

The band’s ninth, full-length album which will be produced by The Cars’ Ric Ocasek, has been in works for a little while now, and they group even debuted a new song earlier this year went hey hit the high seas for their Weezer Cruise.

But the recording the new album isn’t keeping Weezer in the studio indefinitely. They have a few upcoming festival appearances coming up, including Los Angeles’ Made in America Festival, Firefly, and Riot Fest where they will play The Blue Album in full.

VERONICA-MARS-e1388525602928

The Veronica Mars Movie will be hitting theaters this coming Friday and the people behind the film have given fans yet another treat by revealing the first eight minutes of the highly anticipated film.

Fans of the cult hit, were given the first two minutes of the film last week, which was just a general overview of the three seasons that the show was on the air. During their time stint at South By Southwest today, the new preview was released, much to the excitement of the Marshmallows.

The preview is currently being streamed over at Fandango which you can hit up right here and finds us in the midst of Veronica’s new life trying to get a job at a firm with Jamie Lee Curtis as the big boss. We also find out that Veronica did end up going to her dream school, Stanford after giving away all her tuition funds to her mom’s rehab which we all know was wasted.

And how proud are we of her spunk still being present when one of the partners tries to be “coy” in asking about that “sex video” featuring her and Piz in season three? Oh Marshmallows, our little girl has grown up.

Oh, and pay attention to Piz on the radio when he makes reference to being “passé” and starting again with a “Kickstarter campaign.”

HBO Releases ‘Game of Thrones’ Season Four Preview

game-of-thrones

While everyone was either watching the Grammys salute the Beatles and the 50th anniversary of their debut on the Ed Sullivan Show or watching a new episode of The Walking Dead, HBO did a sly thing, releasing a 15-minute preview of Game of Throne‘s season four.

If this looks oddly familiar, the network did the same thing, releasing the first trailer for the upcoming new season during the Golden Globes. The 15-minute video not only features new footage from the show but also behind-the-scene goodies like interviews with the cast showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.

Game of Thrones is set to return to HBO on April 6th.

Seven seconds.

That’s how long the new teaser for the upcoming Avengers spin-off television series, S.H.I.E.L.D. Joss Whedon is well-known for torturing his fans by doing things like this, but on the upside, we should thank him for at least letting us known that our favorite Captain America obsessed, Nick Fury right-hand-man did not meet his demise during The Avengers last Summer.

Coulson lives and all is right with the world. To see the blink and you miss it teaser, just click play below.
