Fresh off announcing plans to embark on a massive Canadian tour during the final months of 2018, Pop Evil have returned to unveil yet another massive outing for early 2019. On Monday (Oct. 15), the Michigan-founded band announced plans to hit the United States touring circuit during the months of January and February. The 24-stop tour will find the band performing at venues across the country including stops in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Baltimore, and Boston.
The tour will begin on Jan. 16 at the Bourbon in Lincoln, Nebraska and will conclude a month later on Feb. 16 at the Majestic Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. VIP packages and Bandsintown pre-sales will begin this Wednesday, Oct. 17, on the band’s website. Following a few days of pre-sales, general tickets will be available beginning this Friday, Oct. 19.
The upcoming excursion will include support from former VH1 That Metal Show host Don Jamieson, Them Evils, and Savage After Midnight. Jamieson will be the band’s direct support throughout the trek while Them Evils and Savage After Midnight will perform on selected dates.
“We are excited to blend rock and comedy for this unique touring experience,” begins frontman Leigh Kakaty. “We are big fans of Don, he will bring a lot of energy to the stage each night. We think this is going to be one of the most memorable tours to date with Don Jamison, Them Evils, and Savage After Midnight.”
In addition to the previously announced supporting acts, Pop Evil have also revealed that they will host a special local bands contest at each tour stop.
“Another great part of this tour is the opportunity for local bands to win our contest to be the opening band each night,” the band said in a press statement.
Bands in each city can submit an original cover of Pop Evil’s current single, “Be Legendary,” to qualify for a place in the running. The contest begins in November with more details to come.
The upcoming tour will be in support of Pop Evil’s recently released self-titled record. The album, the band’s fifth studio effort, was released in February of 2018 through Entertainment One (eOne).
