Pop Evil to embark on United States-centric tour in early 2019

Fresh off announcing plans to embark on a massive Canadian tour during the final months of 2018, Pop Evil have returned to unveil yet another massive outing for early 2019. On Monday (Oct. 15), the Michigan-founded band announced plans to hit the United States touring circuit during the months of January and February. The 24-stop tour will find the band performing at venues across the country including stops in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Baltimore, and Boston.

The tour will begin on Jan. 16 at the Bourbon in Lincoln, Nebraska and will conclude a month later on Feb. 16 at the Majestic Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. VIP packages and Bandsintown pre-sales will begin this Wednesday, Oct. 17, on the band’s website. Following a few days of pre-sales, general tickets will be available beginning this Friday, Oct. 19.

The upcoming excursion will include support from former VH1 That Metal Show host Don Jamieson, Them Evils, and Savage After Midnight. Jamieson will be the band’s direct support throughout the trek while Them Evils and Savage After Midnight will perform on selected dates.

“We are excited to blend rock and comedy for this unique touring experience,” begins frontman Leigh Kakaty. “We are big fans of Don, he will bring a lot of energy to the stage each night. We think this is going to be one of the most memorable tours to date with Don Jamison, Them Evils, and Savage After Midnight.”

In addition to the previously announced supporting acts, Pop Evil have also revealed that they will host a special local bands contest at each tour stop.

“Another great part of this tour is the opportunity for local bands to win our contest to be the opening band each night,” the band said in a press statement.

Bands in each city can submit an original cover of Pop Evil’s current single, “Be Legendary,” to qualify for a place in the running. The contest begins in November with more details to come.

The upcoming tour will be in support of Pop Evil’s recently released self-titled record. The album, the band’s fifth studio effort, was released in February of 2018 through Entertainment One (eOne).

Pop Evil announces early 2017 headlining tour

With several massive tours and rock festivals under their belt, Pop Evil is ready to take the lead and headline their own tour. The tour which has been named the “ROCK ‘N’ ROLL NOW TOUR: RIGHT NOW,” will kick off on Jan. 10, 2017 at the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville, KY and wrap up a month and a half later on Feb. 24, 2017 at the Fillmore Detroit in the group’s home state of Michigan.

“What an exciting time to announce a full headline tour across the states as we launch our final single off UP, ‘If Only For Now,'” begins frontman Leigh Kakaty in a press release. “It’s no secret, as a ‘Rock’ musician this is a very difficult era to survive in. That’s why we take it very seriously to appreciate what is happening RIGHT NOW by living in the moment. We are not taking success for granted and will continue to waive the Rock ‘n’ Roll Flag! It’s time for the ROCK community to come together to spread the awareness that rock and roll’s a force to be reckoned with. Come join us this January as we embark on our Rock ‘N’ Roll quest across the states on the ROCK ‘N’ ROLL NOW TOUR: RIGHT NOW!”

Red Sun Rising and Badflower will join Pop Evil during the early-2017 excursion. Those who wish to purchase tickets to the show can currently do so here using the pre-sale password, “BLABBERMOUTH.” All Ticketmaster service fees will be reduced to $0.99 beginning today until Monday, Oct. 24, at 9:59 a.m. local time. After that, the normal Ticketmaster service fees will resume.  The official poster and full list of tour dates can be seen below.

The “ROCK ‘N’ ROLL NOW TOUR: RIGHT NOW” trek is in support of the group’s recently release record, 2015’s UP. The album, the band’s fourth studio record, earned the number one spot on Billboard’s Indie Chart and received a lot of accolades from critics.
