Pierce the Veil unleash trippy video for new single

Fresh off their tour with Rise Against, Pierce the Veil has returned with a brand new music video for their latest single. On Wednesday (Oct. 11), the California-based band unleashed their trippy music video for “Today I Saw the Whole World.” The video begins with the band inside of what appears to be a studio with white walls surrounding them. As the music picks up, we watch as the four-piece stick to just playing their instruments before the viewer is taken on a trippy journey when random clips are projected on the white walls. If you think the clip is very reminiscent of music videos from the 90s, that’s exactly what the group was going for according to frontman Vic Fuentes.

“I grew up watching massive amounts of MTV music videos throughout the 90’s. I would record all of my favorites on VHS tape, watching them over and over until the tape wore out,” recalls Fuentes. “Our new video was inspired by some of these artists that I loved back then like the Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill and Marilyn Manson. We wanted to use this 90’s look to visually express the lyrics and fury inside of the song.”

The almost four-minute clip was directed by Dan Fusselman whose resume includes videos for Neck Deep, Silversun Pickups, and August Burns Red. Watch the clip above.

The release of the music video comes a few months after the band formally announced their plans to unleash the clip. Taking to Instagram, the group post an image of themselves from behind the screen of a camera with the caption, “Shooting a new video for ‘Today I Saw the Whole World.’”

“Today I Saw the Whole World” is featured on Pierce the Veil’s recently released record, MisadventuresMisadventures was released back in May of 2016 and earned the top spot on Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, Independent Albums, and Top Rock Albums charts. Earlier this month, Pierce the Veil announced the release of their Today I Saw the Whole World EP exclusively on Spotify. The EP features the original version of the song as well as an acoustic version. Listen to the Today I Saw the Whole World EP here.

Pierce the Veil transport to the 50s in new music video

Over the past week, the guys from Pierce the Veil have released teasing images from the set of their recently completed music video. On Friday (Feb. 10), the California-founded band finally unveiled the completed clip for “Floral & Fading,” the latest single off their recently released record Misadventures.

The music video, which looks like it was somewhat inspired by Weezer’s “Buddy Holly,” begins with a couple parked outside of a neighborhood bowling alley. The scene soon shifts to inside the alley where several “good kids” seem to be spending their Friday evening hanging out and playing some games. The manager is then heard over the speaker system, telling all the kids to “come over here” because some band named “Pierce the Veil” was going to put on a show for them.

On a makeshift stage, the guys from PTV appear, decked out in some awkward and weird 50s attire including combed and gelled down hair, polyester pants, and sweater vests. The kids start to gather around the band as they begin to play the song. At first, it appears like it’s going to be a slow and non-eventful evening until two guys bump into each other. Instead of shaking it off, a fight ensues. Gone is the quiet slow dancing, and a mosh pit begins to form in the middle of the bowling alley.

Check out the complete video for “Floral & Fading” above.

“Floral & Fading” is featured on Pierce the Veil’s recently released record, Misadventures. In support of the 2016 release, the band will embark on their “Rest in Space” tour with Falling in Reverse and Crown the Empire. Def Leppard, Soundgarden, The Offspring to headline Rocklahoma 2017

Rocklahoma 2017 banner

Winter may be in full effect in some places in the United States, but that just means we’re a lot closer to festival season. On Monday (Jan. 9), the people behind the “World’s Loudest Month” announced the complete lineup for the eleventh annual Rocklahoma. Def Leppard, Soundgarden, and The Offspring are just some of the big names heading to Oklahoma in late-May.

The music festival which has been dubbed “America’s Biggest Memorial Day Weekend Party” will also include performance from Taking Back Sunday, Pierce the Veil, The Pretty Reckless, Skillet, Suicidal Tendencies, Three Days Grace, Stone Sour, Seether and many more.

“Every year we try to find that delicate balance of talent at Rocklahoma, and the lineup we’ve put together for 2017 will not disappoint,” said Joe Litvag, executive producer of Rocklahoma, about the newly unveiled lineup.

“Def Leppard has been on the wish list of our most loyal fans since the festival was created back in 2007, and to couple them, one of the most influential British rock bands of the last 30+ years, with Soundgarden, one of the most respected American rock bands of our generation, is really special for us. Add to the mix some of the hottest developing talent like Pierce the Veil, The Pretty Reckless, Nothing More, and Rival Sons, and I think we’ve accomplished the goal of achieving one of the most diverse festival lineups of the year anywhere.”

Pre-sale weekend tickets and layaway packages will be available for purchase beginning Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. CST on the festival’s website. For those a little strapped for cash but wanting to go to Rocklahoma, the layaway option allows attendees to split the cost into four monthly payments. Following a few days of pre-dales, general, public sales will begin on Friday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. CST.

Rocklahoma will return to its home of the ‘Catch the Fever’ Festival Grounds in Pryor during the weekend of May 26-28. For now, the complete list of artists can be seen below.

Pierce the Veil ‘Dive In’ in new music video

image

Over the past few months, Pierce the Veil has been a little on the quiet side. With a massive tour that found the four-piece endlessly performing for their die-hard fan base across the world, it’s understandable that the news from their camp has been at a minimal. On Tuesday (Nov. 22), things changed just a little when the California-based band released the music video for their latest single, “Dive In.” The almost five-minute-long clip features normal live music video staples like footage of the fans, the band on stage performing, the crew setting up the venue(s) for the show(s), and of course all the crazy hi-jinx that goes on behind-the-scenes (softball? ping-pong? a trip to the aquarium?). Check out the music video for “Dive In” below.

“Dive In” is featured on Pierce the Veil’s recently released record, Misadventures. The record, the band’s fourth, is the much-anticipated follow-up to 2012’s Collide with the Sky. Currently, the band is in the middle of the European leg of the “Misadventures” tour. Earlier this year, during the first leg of the tour, the band announced that they would play the full new album, which was a first for the band.

“We wanted to celebrate our new album by putting on a once in a lifetime performance for our fans and offer them something that we’ve never done in the past,” said frontman Vic Fuentes back in May. “Playing an album live in its entirety is a rare and unique experience. It’s special because it usually only happens once, and then it’s gone forever. We look forward to sharing these new songs and seeing everyone at the shows.”

Once the European leg of the tour wraps, the band will return to the United States for a couple of shows before the holidays. Tonight, the Pierce the Veil will perform at the Substage in Karlsruhe, Germany. For more information about the upcoming shows, go to the band’s website here.

Pierce the Veil brave a haunted house for ‘Circles’

image

Pierce the Veil has returned with their long-awaited new music video. On Monday (July 25), the San Diego-based band released the music video for their latest single, “Circles.” The clip, according to the band, is loosely based on the 1991 film, Nothing But Trouble, starring Chevy Chase, John Candy, and Dan Aykroyd.

The video begins with the band having no place to stay while on tour with their only option being a beat down, old house. When they enter the worn down abode, they are greeted by the owner, a creepy old dude. After accepting the key to their room, which looks like the previous guests had a satanic ritual, and taking a drink (featuring an eyeball cocktail), things seem to take a turn for the weird.

As the run down the halls of the haunted house, they stumble into a room with newspaper clippings posted on the walls. As they begin to read the headlines, they see that some of their friends have gone missing. Could they be next? Check out the video for “Circles” here.

While speaking with Alternative Press, Fuentes unveiled just why they decided to base the new clip on Nothing But Trouble. “We kind of loosely based it off of that and we kind of adjusted it more to what would we be doing, you know?” Fuentes begins.

“Everyday we have to check into a hotel on tour and so we kind of based it off of like, ‘What if we checked into this hotel and it was just this haunted hotel with this old man who tried to send us through his bag of tricks in his house and capture us.’ And it’s like he would be doing this for years and all of these bands had disappeared, you know? In this house and we’re trying to help each other out of it.”

“Circles” is featured on Pierce the Veil’s recently released record, Misadventures. In support of the album, the group recently announced plans to hit the North American touring circuit this fall. The complete list of upcoming tour stops can be seen here.
