Hayley Williams treats fans to ‘Pure Love’ music video

Hayley Williams is back with a brand new fan-centric music video.

On Tuesday (Aug. 4), the Paramore frontwoman released the music video for “Pure Love.”

Since making music videos has become a little bit challenging due to the current pandemic, Williams decided to get some help from the people she appreciates the most; her fans.

“Hello friends,” the singer begins in a lengthy letter to her followers.

“The biggest and most wonderful love of my life, lasting over half my life at this point is Paramore. It was a strange source of healthy tension to step out of my musical home to explore new terrain and give voice to parts of me that, prior to Petals for Armor, I had yet to acknowledge.”

She continues: “The year I had planned would’ve seen many of us gather together to celebrate a discovery of new worlds within ourselves and I couldn’t wait to unleash myself on stage, once again. What’s that saying about God laughing at our plans?

With the pandemic leaving many of us stranded and disconnected from one another, I thought of a way to celebrate some times we have already shared. It also gives me another way to celebrate the big love I feel for Paramore. Thank you for participating in this video compilation. To the good ol’ days and the future ones too.”

The new music video features footage of Williams in the recording studio as well as fan-submitted clips of Paramore performing during their “comeback” tour for their fifth studio album, After Laughter.

In addition to the new clip, Williams also released two behind-the-scenes lyric videos, one for “Taken” and one for “Crystal Clear.”

Petals for Armor was released earlier this year. The record debuted at the number one spot on the Alternative Albums chart, number one on the Rock Albums chart, and number three on the US Album Sales chart.

Hayley Williams to head out on first-ever solo tour in the spring

Hayley Williams is hitting the road this spring, armed with a brand new set of tunes and a new attitude.

On Thursday (March 5), the Paramore frontwoman announced plans to hit the road later this year in support of her debut solo album, Petals for Armor. Dubbed the Petals for Armor tour (because what else?), the outing will find the musician performing at venues across the continent throughout May and June.

The North American-centric tour will include shows in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Brooklyn, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, and more.

The 17-stop trek kicks off on May 28 at the Moore Theatre in Seattle and concludes a month later on June 29 at the Brooklyn Ballroom Nashville.

There are currently two different ways to get first dibs on tickets for the newly announced gigs. You can pre-order Petals for Armor on the record’s official website from now until this Sunday (March 8).

You can also register for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program from now until Sunday (March 8) to unlock an exclusive ticket pre-sale code.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale beginning this Tuesday, March 10. General ticket sales begin next Friday, March 13, at 10 a.m. local time.

Arlo Parks will join Williams during the North American excursion.

“Wow. I am going on tour. Myself. It’s not Paramore, and truthfully, it’s just a little terrifying. But if I know anything, it’s that there’s no safer place (besides at home with my dog) than to be in a room, on a stage, in front of the people who I’ve grown up singing my lungs out for. There was a time I thought I wouldn’t tour Petals For Armor. What a joke. I must,” Williams writes in a press statement.

She continues: “This is a brand new adventure. It’s important to embark on something new every now and then just to show yourself that you can. I welcome the discomfort and the joy, and I’m ready to be present for this.

The first run of shows is going to be hot, sweaty, and intimate. My brand-newly-formed band and I will be playing rooms that Paramore outgrew a decade ago. It’s going to be so satisfying to feel the energy of a crowd that close again, especially while performing songs that feel so vital for me; songs I have never performed before for an audience.

Thank you for the chance to tour this. I hope to see a ton of old friends and make some new ones too.”

The upcoming tour is in support of Williams’ forthcoming album, Petals for Armor. The record is due out May 8 through Atlantic Records.

Last month, Williams revealed that she would release an exclusive five-track collection titled Petals for Armor I. The EP will include “Simmer,” “Leave it Alone,” and “Cinnamon.”

Hayley Williams continues her ‘Petals for Armor’ saga with ‘Cinnamon’

The creepiness that is Hayley Williams Petals for Armor saga continues!

On Thursday (Feb. 6), the Paramore vocalist unveiled the music video for the fourth single off her much-anticipated solo debut Petals for Armor. Titled “Cinnamon,” the four-minute clip continues the singer’s storyline that began with “Simmer.”

The upbeat new track begins with Williams post-cocoon waking up in a house, unsure of why she’s there. She stares at everything in awe like it’s all brand new to her. While she’s inspecting a living area, the fabrics he fabrics take the form of people and start chasing her.

Yes, it’s as creepy as it sounds.

She runs away and locks herself in a room with a bathtub where she sees another one of those living beings, which may or may not be a figment of Williams’ imagination.

“Cinnamon,” “Simmer,” “Simmer (Interlude),” and “Leave it Alone” will all be featured on Williams’ upcoming studio effort. Petals for Armor is due out May 8 through Atlantic Records. Pre-orders are available here.

In case May is too far away, Williams has decided to give fans a treat to hold them until then. The singer has announced plans to release all five songs as a short EP titled Petals for Armor I.

The album will feature “Simmer,” “Leave it Alone,” “Cinnamon,” and two yet-to-be-released tracks.

“There are a lot of themes covered on the album as a whole, and I thought it best to separate some of these themes so that there can be time for everyone to digest some of the songs before we move along to others,” Williams explains.

“It’s a way to include people on the journey in the same way that I experienced it.”

Petals for Armor was produced by Williams’ Paramore bandmate Taylor York.

Hayley Williams is giving us all the horror movies feels with all the Petals for Armor music videos she’s released so far….so what’s another one?

On Thursday (Jan. 30), the Paramore vocalist unleashed the third music video from her much-anticipated solo album. Titled “Leave it Alone,” the nearly five-minute clip picks up right after “Simmer (Interlude).”

After being knocked out by a monstrous version of herself in “Simmer,” Williams is wrapped up in a cocoon of spider webs as if the monster version of herself was trying to heal her. Throughout the clip, we see a cocooned version of Williams become a butterfly of sorts with dramatic makeup and zip ties in her hair to make it look like a spiky mohawk.

While she starts to emerge from the cocoon slowly, the normal version of herself is lost in a forest. She comes upon a tree, and curiosity gets the best of her. She pulls at a piece of bark that seems to be spewing syrup, but in the end, seems to be harming the butterfly version of the singer.

Confusing? Not really. We feel like it’s Williams’ way of saying that she’s ready to evolve like a butterfly but is still holding on to some part of her former self. Talk about symbolism.

Hayley Williams announces the release of her solo debut, unleashes its first single

Sorry Paramore fans, but it looks like frontwoman Hayley Williams will be taking a step back from the band for a bit. But there’s some good news; Williams will be releasing her debut solo album later this year!

On Wednesday (Jan. 22), the musician finally confirmed what all the teasers on social media have been about. Taking to the same platform, the songstress revealed plans to unleash her debut studio album in May. Titled Petals for Armor (like all her teasers had stated), the album is due out May 8 through Atlantic Records.

“I’m so ready and so incredibly humbled to get to share this project,” the musician writes in a press statement.

“Making it was a scary, empowering experience. Some of my proudest moments as a lyricist happened while writing PETALS FOR ARMOR. And I was able to get my hands a little dirtier than usual when it came to instrumentation.

She continues: “I’m in a band with my favorite musicians, so I never really feel the need to step into a role as a player when it comes to Paramore records. This project, however, benefited from a little bit of musical naïveté and rawness and so I experimented quite a bit more. I made this with some of the closest people to me. Their respective talents really shine bright throughout the record. I like to think we all make each other better, and the result is something that sounds and FEELS exactly as I’d hoped it would.

Now that it’s time to put it all out there, I can finally exhale. I’m excited to let people in to experience a different side of myself that I’ve only very recently become familiar with.”

To coincide with the new album announcement, Williams released the first single from the album, a track titled “Simmer.” Instead of collaborating with new partners on the original tune, Williams kept things in the “family” by enlisting Paramore bandmate Taylor York to produce “Simmer.”

Because both the new song and studio effort weren’t enough, Williams has also unveiled the music video for “Simmer.”

“Simmer” is Williams’ first new track since the release of Paramore’s last studio album, 2017’s After Laughter.

This isn’t Williams’ first time releasing solo music.  She contributed a song titled “Teenagers” to the “Jennifer’s Body” soundtrack and covered Tegan and Sara’s “Nineteen” for the sisters’ Tegan and Sara present The Con X: Covers album.
