Against the Current announce ‘Past Lives,’ drop video for ‘Almost Forgot’

Months after dropping two new songs, Against the Current have finally announced the release of their brand new album. On Friday (Aug. 17), the New York-founded trio confirmed the title and release date for theirĀ  upcoming sophomore record. Titled Past Lives, the new record is due out Sept. 28 through Fueled By Ramen. Pre-orders for Past Lives are currently available on Against the Current’s website.

Past Lives will be the much-anticipated follow-up to the trio’s breakout debut, 2016’sĀ In Our Bones.

In addition to unveiling the record’s title and release date, the group also unleashed its third single; a track titled “Personal.” Stream the new song here. As if the new album information and the new single wasn’t enough, the band also premiered the music video for their previously released song, “Almost Forgot.” Watch the new music video above.

Earlier in the year, Against the Current surprised fans by releasing not one, but two new songs: lead single “Strangers Again” and “Almost Forgot.” The springtime release of both tracks marked the trio’s first new material in more than two years. At the time of the two songs’ debut, the band had not confirmed or denied speculations over whether the new songs would be featured on their sophomore album.

As evident in their recent announcement, it looks like fans finally got their long-awaited confirmation.

In support of the record’s fall time release, the group will embark on a massive world tour which will find them performing at venues in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and France. The three-piece’s 2018 European tour will begin on Sept. 15 at the Academy in Dublin and conclude a couple of weeks later on Oct. 11 at the Yoyo in Paris.
