Watch Brendon Urie become a puppet in Panic! at the Disco’s latest music video

Now that Panic! at the Disco’s new album is officially out, the group is celebrating by releasing a brand new music video. On Friday (June 22), the Las Vegas-founded band unleashed the music video for “Hey Look Ma, I Made It.” The three-minute clip begins with Panic! frontman Brendon Urie in what looks to be a bathroom inside of a house. Decked in his signature gold blazer, the frontman leans down to splash water on his face, but when he straightens, his reflection is replaced by a puppet version of himself alla “Avenue Q. ”

The video follows puppet Urie as he says goodbye to his parents and heads out to Hollywood in a van to find success. The viewer follows along as he heads to a record label to sign his soul away in order to fulfill his dream. Throughout the clip, we watch as he gets the success he so much craves by appearing on the cover of magazines, attending award shows, and getting notoriety. But like with many Hollywood stories, there is always a dark side to fame.

The viewer watches as puppet Urie gets involved in drugs, alcohol, women, etc. While all this is going on in his life, human Urie appears to his puppet persona in an attempt to get him to snap out of his destructive behavior. The end of the video though, is the part that many viewers may take to heart. It addresses the subject of what it really means to “make it” especially when others are using you for their benefit.

Watch the music video for “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” above.

“Hey Look Ma, I Made It” will join previously released tracks “King of the Clouds,” “High Hopes,” “(F**k A) Silver Lining,” and “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” on Panic! at the Disco’s recently released record, Pray for the Wicked.

In support of the new album, the band will kick off the first leg of their Pray for the Wicked North American tour next month. The trek will begin on July 11 at the Target Center in Minneapolis and conclude a little over a month later on Aug. 18 at the T-Mobile Arena in the group’s hometown of Las Vegas. The full list of tour dates can be found here.

Panic! at the Disco drop stoner-influenced tune ‘King of the Clouds’

With less than a week until the release of their sixth studio album, Panic! at the Disco have decided to give fans one more song to hold them over until Friday. On Monday (June 18), the Las Vegas-founded band premiered another new song from their forthcoming record, Pray for the Wicked. Titled “King of the Clouds,” the new song was written during a weed-induced gathering featuring frontman Brendon Urie, Death of a Bachelor producer Jake Sinclair, and frequent collaborator Sam Hollander just as the record’s deadline was about to hit.

“So this song almost didn’t make the album because it was a deadline issue,” Urie explained to Apple Beats DJ Zane Lowe.

“So the day before the deadline of the record, right, [I] had to have everything in so they can make their plans of marketing, distribution, the whole deal…I had to give them all this information. Around midnight, I get a text and Jake [Sinclair]’s ‘I’m coming over to your house tomorrow.’ Okay. That’s all I get. So I wake up. Seven AM. He comes over around nine and we start working on this song and I’m like ‘Dude, this is the dopest song I have ever heard. This is so cool! What the hell?!”

As it turns out, during a previous weed-induced gathering, Urie was going on about Carl Sagan, the 11th dimension, and showing those in attendance videos about it. While he was discussing this with this guests, Hollander and Sinclair had been sneakily writing down everything the singer was saying which eventually became the lyrics to “King of the Clouds.” Watch the full interview with Lowe here.

“King of the Clouds” will join previously released tunes “High Hopes,” “(F**k A) Silver Lining,” and current single, “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” on Pray for the Wicked. The new record is due out this Friday, June 22, through Fueled by Ramen/DCD2.

Panic! at the Disco give fans ‘High Hopes’ with new track

Panic! at the Disco have returned with yet another new song from their upcoming new studio album, Pray for the Wicked. On Wednesday (May 23), the Las Vegas-founded band unleashed their brand new track, “High Hopes,” following days of teasing and cryptic posts on social media.

Taking to Twitter, frontman Brendon Urie sounded off about the new, anthemic track: “I spent too long not setting my expectations high enough, worried about how it felt to fail. I hit a point when I realized I had to aim high and fail, fail, fail in order to keep growing. This one is for all of you who helped me go for it all. I thank you.” Listen to “High Hopes” above.

“High Hopes” will join previously released tracks “(F*** A) Silver Lining” and lead single “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” on Panic! at the Disco’s forthcoming sixth studio album. Pray for the Wicked is due out on June 22 through the band’s longtime home of Fueled By Ramen. Pre-orders for Pray for the Wicked are available here.

In support of Pray for the Wicked’s release, the group will embark on their massive Pray for the Wicked summer tour beginning July. The tour will kick off July 11 at the Target Center in Minneapolis and conclude a little over a month later on Aug. 18 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The complete list of tour dates can be found here.

Watch Panic! at the Disco bring their ‘Say Amen’ music video to life on ‘Ellen’

If Brendon Urie ever wants to play the role of a secret agent/super-spy in the near future, he may already have an audition tape on hand. On Tuesday (May 8), Panic! at the Disco headed over to the Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform their current single, “Say Amen (Saturday Night).” Instead of going the typical route with just a plain performance, the group decided to take thing up another notch.

Taking inspiration from the official music video for the tune, the live performance follows Urie as he makes his way from the green room to the main studio, all while being attacked by ninjas dressed like normal production crew members and/or audience members.

Oh yeah, did we also mention that Urie is singing live while he’s being attacked by the undercover ninjas, bottles, and vases? Watch the complete performance for “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” above.

“Say Amen (Saturday Night)” will join previously released track “(F*** A) Silver Lining” on Panic! at the Disco’s forthcoming sixth studio album. Pray for the Wicked is due out on June 22 through the band’s longtime home of Fueled By Ramen. Pre-orders for Pray for the Wicked are available here.

In support of Pray for the Wicked‘s release, the Las Vegas-founded band will embark on their massive Pray for the Wicked summer tour in July. The tour will kick off July 11 at the Target Center in Minneapolis and conclude a little over a month later on Aug. 18 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Travel to Bikini Bottom in ‘(Just a) Simple Sponge’

If you haven’t had the chance to see the new “SpongeBob SqaurePants: The Musical” then you should probably get on that soon before tickets for the Tony-nominated show are sold out indefinitely. But, if you can’t make it to New York any time soon, don’t worry because you can get a little sneak peek at the musical now. On Friday (May 4), the official music video for the show’s tune “(Just a) Simple Sponge” was released.

The almost four-minute clip features the show’s star, Ethan Slater, recording the song in a recording studio surrounded by the show’s ensemble. In between the footage of the musicians in the studio, there is footage from the showing which brings the cartoon version of Bikini Bottom to life. Watch the music video for “(Just a) Simple Sponge” above.

“(Just a) Simple Sponge” was written by Panic! at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie. In addition to Urie, the multi-award nominated musical includes songs from Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Tony-nominated Sara Bareilles, Cyndi Lauper, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants, David Bowie, and many more.

The musical is described as: “The stakes are higher than ever as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage.”

The cast includes Slater as said unexpected hero, SpongeBob SquarePants; Gavin Lee as Squidward Q. Tentacles; Lilli Cooper as Sandy Cheeks; Brian Ray Norris as Eugene Krabs; Danny Skinner as Patrick Star; and Wesley Taylor as Sheldon Plankton.

Last week, it was announced that the musical was nominated for a total of 12 Tony Awards tied with fellow newcomer “Mean Girls.” Those categories include “Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre,” “Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical” for Slater, and “Best Musical.”

Panic! at the Disco bassist exits band

Just a few days before the new year is set to begin, Panic! at the Disco has revealed that they will be down a member in 2018. On Wednesday (Dec. 27) longtime bassist Dallon Weekes formally announced his departure from the Las Vegas-founded act. Taking to Instagram, the musician announced his exit from the band after eight years.

“For the last eight years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to perform in Panic! at the Disco,” Weekes wrote in an Instagram post. “While I’m sad to announce that my time with Panic! has come to an end, I’m excited to continue making music with my new project, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me.”

Weekes joined Panic! at the Disco as a touring member in 2009 and in 2010 officially became a full-time member. Weekes went on to perform on Panic! at the Disco’s fourth studio album Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! before returning to a touring musician position in 2015. To read Weekes’ full departure announcement, head on over to his Instagram profile here.

A few months ago, Weekes launched a side project named I Don’t Know How But They Found Me with former Falling in Reverse drummer Ryan Seaman. As said in his departure post, it looks like Weekes’ main focus will now be on I Don’t Know How But They Found Me. For now, you can stream IDKHBTFM’s first single “Choke” here.

As for Panic! at the Disco, the band released a new Christmas song titled “Feels Like Christmas” just in time for the holiday. The week before that, the group released their second live album, All My Friends We’re Glorious.

Panic! at the Disco celebrate the holidays with new song

With a handful of days left before Christmas officially arrives, Panic! at the Disco is giving their loyal fan base an early gift. On Wednesday (Dec. 20), the Las Vegas-founded band unleashed a brand new, standalone Christmas jam named “Feels Like Christmas.” The barely three-minute-long song takes cues from a lot of Christmas tunes which at this point in the holiday season we either completely love or hate it to the point that our radio may be finding its way out the window. Listen to “Feels Like Christmas” above.

In a post on Instagram, the frontman Brendon Urie wrote a letter to fans, thanking them for all the support and love they have continuously showed the group throughout 2017.

“Thank you all for making this year my favorite so far,” begins the singer’s Instagram post. “Through the hard times and the beautiful moments, I’m glad we’re always there to lift each other up. I’m so excited for the new year and what’s to come. So to end this year right, here’s a little holiday jam I wrote for you. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.”

“Feels Like Christmas” is a standalone, holiday single/gift to fans and will not be featured on any upcoming Panic! at the Disco album. A free download of the new tune can be found on Fueled By Ramen’s website here.

Last week, Panic! at the Disco released All My Friends We’re Glorious; their second live album (their first was 2008’s …Live in Chicago). The 21-track album was recorded during the band’s “Death of a Bachelor” tour which found the group touring North American from February of 2017 to April of 2017.

Panic! at the Disco announces live album

Panic! at the Disco is ready to bring their successful “Death of a Bachelor” tour from the stage to your trusty pair headphones. On Monday (Nov. 20), the Las Vegas-founded band announced plans to release a live album in December. All My Friends We’re Glorious: Death of a Bachelor Tour Live is set to be released on Dec. 15. The live album will feature the group performing 21 tracks from their five-album discography. The title of the album is a play on a lyric from “Victorious” (“all my friends were glorious”); one of the many successful singles from the band’s 2016 album, Death of a Bachelor.

As the title of the live album conveys, the footage was shot during the group’s “Death of a Bachelor” tour which invaded North America from February of 2017 to April of 2017.
