With a little over a week left before their new album is officially out in the hands of the public, Weezer has unleashed yet another new track from it. On Wednesday (Oct. 18), the California-founded band unleashed “Happy Hour”; their fifth song from Pacific Daydream to be unveiled. The new song’s debut should not comes as much of a surprise since the band has previously teased that a new song would be released before the record hits stores.
“P.S. there might be one more song for you before the album’s out too. You’ll just have to wait and see,” posted the band on Twitter at the beginning of October. Listen to the group’s almost-three-minute song about their need for happy hour above.
“Happy Hour” will join “Feels Like Summer,” “Mexican Fender,” “Beach Boys,” and “Weekend Women” on their upcoming album, Pacific Daydream. Pacific Daydream is set to be released on Oct. 27 through Crush Music/Atlantic Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available here.
In support of Pacific Daydream’s release, Weezer is currently in the middle of their final European tour of 2017. Tonight, the group is set to perform at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels alongside the Orwells. After wrapping up their European tour at the end of the month, the guys will take a month or so off and then fly down to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to headline the second annual Sharkwrecked at Riptide Festival on Dec. 2.
With a handful of weeks left before their eleventh studio album is set to hit stores, Weezer has released yet another new song from it. On Thursday (Oct. 5), the California-founded band unleashed “Weekend Woman”; the fourth new song from their upcoming new album Pacific Daydream. According to the band, the new tune is the most reminiscent of old-school Weezer. “This track has a feel that kinda takes [me] back to the old days of the band,” the band tweeted.
But if you thought that “Weekend Woman” would be the final song the band would give fans before the new album is released, then you may be wrong. According to another post on Twitter, the group teased that another new song may be coming soon. “P.S. there might be one more song for you before the album’s out too. You’ll just have to wait and see.” Listen to “Weekend Woman” above.
“Weekend Woman” will join previously released tracks “Feels Like Summer,” “Mexican Fender,” and “Beach Boys” on Pacific Daydream. Pacific Daydream is scheduled to be released on Oct. 27 through Crush Music/Atlantic Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available here.
In support of Pacific Daydream’s release, Weezer is currently in the process of wrapping up their 2017 North American tour. Once the North American trek wraps up this Saturday (Oct. 7) at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, the group will head across the pond for their final European tour of 2017. That tour will conclude a few weeks later on Oct. 28 at Wembley Arena in London. After taking a month or so off, Weezer will head down to South Florida to headline the second annual Sharkwrecked at Riptide Festival in Fort Lauderdale on Dec. 2.
A month after releasing the second single from of their upcoming new album, Weezer has treated fans to yet another new tune. On Thursday (Sept. 14), the California-founded band unleashed the third single of their upcoming album, Pacific Daydream. The new song is titled “Beach Boys” and pays a little bit of homage to frontman Rivers Cuomo’s biggest influence, the Beach Boys. Listen to the new tune above.
“Beach Boys” will join previously released songs “Feels Like Summer” and “Mexican Fender” on Weezer’s 11th studio album, Pacific Daydream. Pacific Daydream is set to be released on Oct. 27 through Crush Music/Atlantic Records.
Pacific Daydream is the follow-up to Weezer’s 2016 release, The White Album. After telling fans that their next album would not only be titled The Black Album but that it would be darker in content, Weezer changed their tune. The group announced that they had trashed all their ideas for The Black Album and decided to put out an album that sounded like “the Beach Boys and The Clash fell in love by the ocean and had one hell of an amazing baby.”
Earlier this week, Weezer announced on social media that they would be unveiling a brand new song at the end of the week. “New song Beach Boys coming Thursday. If you know the notes sing from your heart ’cause it’s gonna be fun.” Accompanying the band’s post on Twitter is an image of an old-school radio with some music notes above it and a pair of sunglasses resting against a bright yellow background. What fans probably didn’t know at the time was that the image was a sample of what the background for the lyric video would be.
In support of the song and the new album, the group is currently in the middle of their fall 2017 tour. Tonight, the band will perform at KAABOO in Del Mar, California. The full list of upcoming tour dates can be seen here.
For the past five months, Weezer’s “Feels Like Summer” has been blasting through the speakers of many rock stations non-stop. While it looks like many of their fans are over the single, the group has finally given those “haters” a change in tune with a brand new song. On Thursday (Aug. 17), the California-founded band released a new track titled “Mexican Fender.” The new track is the lead single from the group’s majorly rumored and highly anticipated new album. Listen to “Mexican Fender” above.
In addition to finally giving fans a new song to blast through the speakers, Weezer has also confirmed the release of Pacific Daydream; their 11th studio album. For over the past year, the band has kept reassuring fans that their next album would be darker in content and go by the name The Black Album. According to the band, the record was in fact going to be dark, but that changed when they began the writing and recording process. Instead, the band described the new record as “an album that sounds like the Beach Boys and The Clash fell in love by the ocean and had one hell of an amazing baby.”
In support of Pacific Daydream, Weezer will be hitting the touring circuit this fall. Their upcoming tour, which will find them playing music festivals and venues around the world, will kick off this Sunday, Aug. 20 at The Big Feastival in Oro-Medonte, Canada wrap up Oct. 28 at the Wembley Arena in London, though we know they will be making a pit stop in our hometown on Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Dec. 2 for the second annual Sharkwrecked at the Riptide Music Festival.
