Motion City Soundtrack will be hitting the road in support of their upcoming new album, Panic Stations due out Sept. 18 while The Wonder Years will be supporting their own new album, No Closer to Heaven due out on Sept. 4. This tour will also be a promoting trek for State Champs; their new album, Around The World And Back, is due out on Oct. 16.

Motion City Soundtrack “Lose Control” with New Song

It’s official, Motion City Soundtrack’s new album is titled Panic Stations.

Days after a screenshot of a magazine ad began making its rounds on the internet confirming the name of Motion City’s sixth studio album as well as its release date and the record label, the band has finally confirmed the news.

This morning (Aug. 3), the band took to Twitter to announce that they had plans to reveal everything about the new album as soon as the clock stuck 9 a.m. Turns out, most of the news that they were unveiling was stuff that we already knew, but they did throw fans a curveball by releasing the second single off from Panic Stations; a track titled “Lose Control.”

“Lose Control” is currently being streamed over at The Current or you can listen to it below.

While being interviewed by The Current for the article the song is featured on, frontman Justin Pierre was asked about the direction of the new album. In a twist, the band had decided that they would try to capture the essence of their live show on the record.

“Even fans have said we sound better live than we do on record,” said Pierre. “So we decided to try it and capture that kind of feeling.”

In order to get the sound that they wanted, they enlisted producer John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., Walt Mink, Sonic Youth) to help with the album. Agnello suggested that the band record the tracks for the album live, something that the band had never done before and it sounds like it will be working in their favor.

Panic Stations is set to be released on Sept. 18 through Epitaph Records.

Pre-orders for the album are currently available on the band’s website where they are selling colored vinyl, CDs, and other limited items. For those who decide to pre-order the record via iTunes, they will get an instant download of both “Lose Control” and lead single, “TKO.”

As of now, there has been no confirmation about that joint tour with The Wonder Years, though we see it happening since everything else that was on the ad had been proven as true.

Motion City Soundtrack’s New Album Info Leaked?

Motion City Soundtrack have been quiet when it comes to the information concerning their brand new album. After repeatedly being asked about the record by fans for what felt like a year, the group finally revealed that they were in fact working on a new record, though it took months for them to reveal it was due out this Fall.

But, all the secrecy may have just backfired on them. Last night (July 29) Absolute Punk reported that an ad in a magazine may have just revealed a lot of information about the new album.

According to the advertisement, the group’s sixth studio album will be titled Panic Stations and is set to be released on Sept. 28 through Epitaph Records.

In addition the album title and release date, the ad also claims that Motion City will be hitting the road this Fall with The Wonder Years in support of the new record. The joint tour would be fitting since The Wonder Years’ new album, No Closer to Heaven, is set to be released on Sept. 2 and their in-store acoustic tour wraps up on Sept. 10 in Boston.

Check out the advertisement below.

Motion City Leak

As of now, the band has not confirmed nor denied the ad’s claims. We checked Twitter as we are writing this, and there seems to be nothing but re-tweets from their show last in Toronto.

Panic Stations will be the follow-up to 2012’s Go. Last month, Motion City released “TKO,” the lead single from Panic Stations. In a twist, the audio for the song, very much like the album info, was leaked on Tumblr a day before it was set to make its official debut.

Motion City Soundtrack are currently in the middle of the second leg of their “Commit This to Memory Tenth Anniversary Tour” with The Spill Canvas and Sorority Noise.

Stream Motion City Soundtrack’s New Song “TKO”

Yesterday, Motion City Soundtrack’s new song “TKO” was leaked online and we’re definitely guilty of posting it up when the song became available somewhere that we could get an embedded code from.

It came as no surprise when we logged onto the site this morning and found that the video post had been deleted. But, no worries because Motion City have now released the official lyrics video for the song.

Listen/watch the lyrics video for “TKO” below.

As it has been hinted at many times this year, Motion City have given fans hope that their brand new album will be hitting stores by the end of 2015; wintertime, they claim.

In a recent interview with Alternative Press, frontman Justin Pierre had revealed to the publication how the recording session for this impending album differed from the recording sessions of their previous albums.

“We had a year’s worth of songs written, rehearsed them all and recorded 10 of them. A lot of these songs were done in a single take; we’d just pick the best ones. We’d do a take where the drums were great, but the guitar was not, then we’d just redo the guitar, as opposed to everything. It was a whole new approach, and I gotta say that I loved it, especially coming from making records where you’re sitting in the control booth by yourself playing your part over and over and everybody falling asleep.”

Currently, there is no projected released date for the new record, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to lay low until that is date is unveiled.

Motion City Soundtrack will help kick-off the 2015 Vans Warped Tour this Friday as their performance will be live streamed on Yahoo.

After their couple of days on the traveling punk show, they will kickoff the second leg of their North American “Commit This to Memory Tenth Anniversary Tour” before taking the act down under to Australia.

New Motion City Soundtrack Song Leaks Online

A couple of days after announcing they would be releasing a new song sometime this week (tomorrow, June 16, to be exact), Motion City Soundtrack’s new song has leaked online.

The new song is titled “TKO” (as can be seen in the video) and can be heard below. Also keep in mind, if the track sounds a little funky, it’s because it’s a leaked version that was found on Tumblr. On the upside, it should hold you over until tomorrow when the official song is released.

image

This August, the Spill Canvas’ sophomore album, One Fell Swoop, will officially turn ten and in honor of the momentous occasion, the band have decided to head out on their own tenth anniversary tour.

“It’s so unbelievable to me that ten years later, we’re still able to call this dream we had our jobs,” said Spill Canvas frontman Nick Thomas.

“We’re grateful and honored to be able to play our fans an album front to back that means just as much to us as it does to many of you. It’s been such a long time since we’ve played some of these songs, and even longer for the few we’ve never even played live before. We’re beyond excited to get back out on the road, and hope to see you at a show.”

The almost month-long trek will begin on Aug. 5 at the Larmier Lounge in Denver and wrap up on Aug. 23 at The Middle East (Upstairs) in Boston. The band will welcome the Press War onto the trek about half way through the journey (at the Pinelands Music Festival in Millville, NJ, to be exact).
