MGMT confirm release of ‘Little Dark Age,’ announce tour

After having fans wait for almost a year for new music, MGMT have finally confirmed when fans should expect that new music to be out. On Tuesday (Jan. 16), the Connecticut-founded band announced the release date for their fourth studio album, Little Dark Age. Taking to social media, the group unveiled that the new album will have a release date of Feb. 9 through Columbia Records. Pre-orders for Little Dark Age will go on sale beginning this Friday, Jan. 19, at noon local time on their website.

Prior to confirming the new album’s release, MGMT have released a total of three new songs, lead single “Little Dark Age,” When You Die,” and “Hand It Over,” all of which will be featuring on the upcoming record.

In addition to announcing the pre-order and the release date for Little Dark Age, MGMT have also revealed a lengthy tour itinerary for 2018.

The tour schedule will find the group performing all over the globe in countries such as German, Canada, the United States, France, Spain, and Italy. MGMT’s 2018 tour schedule will kick off on Jan. 30 at Huxley’s in Berlin and wrap up on July 17 at the Milano Summer Festival in Milan.

MGMT’s extensive tour schedule will include their appearances at several music festival around the world such as New Orleans’ BUKU Music & Art Project, Delaware’s Firefly Music Festival, Italy’s Milano Summer Festival, and Spain’s Mad Cool Festival.

Tickets for the upcoming shows will go on sale beginning this Friday, the same day Little Dark Age‘s pre-sales begin. The complete list of upcoming tour dates can be seen below.

Activision Unveil More ‘Guitar Hero Live’ Bands

Months after announcing the resurrection of the once beloved game, the company behind “Guitar Hero” is back to announce even more additions the upcoming video game.

Previously, Activision had revealed that bands like Of Mice & Men, Deftones, Bring Me the Horizon, Pierce the Veil, Fall Out Boy, and My Chemical Romance would be feature on the game with a lot more to be unveiled in the upcoming months before the game’s release.

Today (Aug. 5), Activision has kept their promise and released the identities of even more artists to be features on “Guitar Hero Live’s” track list. English band You Me at Six, newcomers Echosmith, Panic! at the Disco, and Blink-182 are just some bands who have been added to the already packed list.

Coachella Sideshow Line-Up Revealed

Coachella’s two weekend festival is slated to begin in under two months with Queens of the Stone Age, Skrillex, Beck, Pharrell Williams, Lorde, Calvin Harris, Disclosure, Lana Del Rey, the Replacements, the Knife and many more taking the stage. This year, like many other years, the festival tries to extend itself to different venues in California in the form of the Coachella Sideshow.

Today, festival organizers have released the name of the artists that will be performing as part of the Coachella Sideshow which is set to take place between April 8 and May 10 at various venues around California.

MGMT Gives Us ‘Alien Days’ Video

Just when you thought that Halloween was almost over, MGMT gives us the music video for their song, “Alien Days.”

The video which features Ben Goldwasse leading a Puritan couple which features frontman  Andrew VanWyngarden and model Camille Rowe into the woods. In the woods, Goldwasse straps our couple to some gyroscopes and sends then spinning on the machine. much like what would happen on one of those crazy rides at the county fair.

After our bizarr-o ride, there as some images of a goat, some sunflowers, a dancing alien wearing a corset and our lovely couple expecting a child. Bizarr-o doesn’t even start to describe this.

The 10th annual FYF Fest showcase has fianlly revealed the line-up for their weekend-long festival which is currently slated to take place on August 24 and 25 at Los Angeles State Historic Park.
